I almost put this in arts and crafts, seeing as how we talk about crochet as much as we talk about babies!

I agree loopy you shouldn't have to collect. It sounds like a good plan

imps poor you... I've not had nights that bad but have cluster fed at times in the day. It is normal but ime doesn't last more than a day or two. 7 weeks today and our longest stretch 4 hours, but fairly often it's still every 2. You need to get to bed at 8pm and hand him to dh whenever you can in the morning, it's the only way. I've had both DC the last 3 days as dh working the weekend, still getting the hang of it!

cartoontrickster · 14/11/2016 13:42

Loopy, they want you to make a special trip for the meds? this time I did get them all from there at my appointments. But when I was preg with N I would email when I needed meds and they would send a prescription in the post, any of my local chemists were happy to fill a private prescription and it was usually cheaper. Do they not do it that way anymore?

keepitgoing · 15/11/2016 11:34

Hi trix how are you doing? Do you know more about what'll happen at/after birth?

Did you get Any more sleep imps?

cartoontrickster · 16/11/2016 09:16

I'm good thanks keep, how are you all? I have an appointment on the 28th and I think everything will be finalised then. I started some of the baby washing yesterday, I was feeling abit unprepared!
How are the other new additions?

Imps9 · 16/11/2016 10:18

Hello all!

How's it all going? Things are going really well here - we're all getting into the swing of things now and I've learnt to embrace the unexpected which makes everything easier. Night feeding has settled down and co-sleeping is still working well, although I think Mr Imps really misses being with us at night so I might try persevering with putting B-B in his own bed after a feed. It's right next and at the same height as our bed so we won't be abandoning him completely.

Trix it will be great to have a final plan in place esp as there's only a month to go! Have you chosen a name yet?

Geek have you managed to have more down-time this week?

cartoontrickster · 16/11/2016 11:17

I think we do have the name, we've not had a ton of name conversations but there only seems to be one we both like so I guess its decision made. I've been trying it out a little too. Feels weird though to know although that its a he and what his name is.

Glad your getting the hang of it all imps, if only they came with their own individual manual! I often think its better to just go with what seems to work especially when it comes to sleep!

Pastamancer · 16/11/2016 15:11

Glad to hear that things are going well Imps, don't forget that B-B is also learning how to be a baby.

Trix fingers crossed your appointment on the 28th goes well.

Exciting times at chez Pasta, I have gone into business with some of my fellow boob ladies and we now have an online lingerie shop. I get all excited whenever an email comes through saying we have a new order Grin

keepitgoing · 16/11/2016 16:46

Mrkeep is quite happy sleeping elsewhere!!

cartoontrickster · 16/11/2016 17:29

Wow pasta how exciting! How do we find it???

Imps9 · 16/11/2016 17:36

Weekdays are slightly different these days :)

Pasta yes I saw your new business and you've reminded me to check it out!! How exciting for you - so cool.

Pastamancer · 16/11/2016 18:46

Here :)

keepitgoing · 16/11/2016 19:24

It's not the weekend!

Is it?...

keepitgoing · 16/11/2016 19:25

Oh right, you said weekdays. Argh. Blame lack of sleep...

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 19/11/2016 16:51

Yes they wanted me to collect the drugs, the words were "PPP in and collect them!". I phoned them up in the end and asked if they could post them to me, as Worcester once posted me some progesterone when they didn't have enough for my prescription. They wouldn't post them but said someone else could collect them on my behalf. A fellow RMC person I know was going there this week so she kindly collected them and posted them to me (the one who messaged you before Geek - she had a miracle natural BFP so didn't need the egg donor in the end and has just had her 12 week scan and normal harmony results!)

Imps good to hear you are getting on well.

Hope everyone else is well, I'm just wishing the next month ish away until we can ttc and hoping the drugs make all the difference. Can't face many more losses.

keepitgoing · 23/11/2016 08:55

Hope you have the drugs now loopy

pasta when can/should I get new nursing bras? Just have stretchy ones now bit they aren't v supportive. Am 8wks pp, boobs still fluctuating a lot with feeds

Pastamancer · 23/11/2016 14:49

We normally say wait until 8-12 weeks depending on how your supply settles. This is mostly to stop people wasting money on bras that won't fit for very long. If you really want to measure now then do it at your fullest to help avoid mastitis. I would avoid wires at this stage and stick to non wired nursing bras until your supply settles

keepitgoing · 26/11/2016 08:40

Do you not do nursing bras pasta? Where would you recommend for vouchers so I can buy some post Xmas in the sales?

geek not long now!

How's everyone and the babies. F had his hand yesterday so has been v sleepy...

Pastamancer · 26/11/2016 16:28

Nursing bras will be coming but not yet as we are still sorting out contracts with different suppliers. It is high on our list of things to do though :)

I had someone in the playground at school yesterday ask me if I took orders for crochet, she wants 3 mermaid tails including one for her. I hadn't thought about selling before as I only started in June. I wouldn't know what to charge as we are quite a deprived area down here and don't think I could get away with charging the same as up country.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 29/11/2016 13:36

Congratulations on the website pasta I had also had a look for nursing bras! No idea what you should charge for crocheting, can you get an idea from etsy?

loopy hope the drugs make the difference

trix how did the appointment go?

We're doing OK here, A is putting on weight - 3.6kg at her weight in last week. She is also cutting down on the top ups so I'm hoping that she should be just breastfeeding in a few more weeks. I'm managing to get out and about a bit more but I'm not quite ready for Xmas shopping yet. I was hoping to get some inspiration from amazon black Friday but I thought it was a bit rubbish this year, there was just too much crap to look through.

Hello all!

Pasta at so pleased all is going well with your new venture although AIBU to think you should have called your site MagicBoobLady? My cheapo H&M nursing bras are still perfectly comfortable - seriously my boobs have hardly grown despite the fact I'm EBF. B-B is putting weight on well so my output must be okay. I am clearly destined to always be petite of breast.

Beedles glad things are going well. A is so beautiful. Hurrah to her chunking up too - well done both of you.

Keep I do believe we're due another photo of F. Thank you in advance.

Geek I cannot believe how much you manage to have on your to do list at any given time. It's surely feet up time for you now?!?

Not long until you start Operation TTC Loops. The plan sounds like a winner - hope you can have a chilled out Christmas before getting started.

Trix not long until Trix Jnr II is here! Is the date set yet?

Things are v good here. Am getting on well now - the initial panic has gone away and I'm learning to trust my instincts and ignore the little voice in my head that says "[name] didn't do this with her baby so therefore you, Imps, must be doing it wrong". It's quite difficult to ignore that voice though sometimes.

cartoontrickster · 03/12/2016 23:40

Gabriel Charles decided to make an early appearance on the 29th. he was 4lbs 10. We had come to Manchester on the Friday for my cousins wedding but I ended up pretty much straight in hospital as my waters started leaking and they kept me in. They couldn't arrange to get me back to the john Radcliffe before I went into labour myself, I needed to go by ambulance. We are now staying in the Ronald McDonald house at st Marys manchester . so far they haven't been able to co ordinate moving G to the John Radcliffe. Hopefully he is going by air ambulance on Monday was supposed to be tomorrow but the weather isn't looking great. N went back home with my parents on Sunday so we haven't seen him they are bringing him up to us tomorrow but fingers crossed we will only be here one night anyway.
G is doing really well he doesn't seem to need any immediate surgery and being prem doesn't really seem to have had a major effect either.

Imps9 · 04/12/2016 09:39

Ohhhh Trix congratulations my lovely. What a gorgeous name. And I am so pleased he is doing so well without immediate treatment.

Wow, Gabriel, what a way to put in an appearance. I hope you're doing well Trix xxx

cartoontrickster · 04/12/2016 10:12

Yes, missed the wedding completely and my unworn bridesmaid dress is still in the back of the car! Physically I am fine another short labour under 3 hours although if I rember right N was a little quicker. No stitches this time. I had a bit a bit of gas & air this time too.
I've been expressing milk for him and mostly he is having it through a tube in his nose, which the little monkey keeps pulling out, sometimes he will take a bit from a syringe in his mouth. We have tried him on the breast but we are both still learning. They've been impressed the G has a good go at it considering his gestation. We are thinking of buying a pump for home then dh can feed him too. Have no idea how long g will be in Hosp I think its a case of getting him feeding well and gaining wait because he's not on any meds and is out of his incubator.

Imps9 · 04/12/2016 10:35

Ohh he sounds like he's doing so well Trix - what a stubborn chap to keep pulling his tube out though! Glad you're able to express milk for him. Will you keep trying him on the boob? Are you able to stay with him for the whole of his time in Manchester?

keepitgoing · 04/12/2016 16:24

Oh trix gosh, congratulations! What gestation was he then? He sounds like he's doing well. How are you feeling, you sound pretty calm but it must have been stressful!
