I almost put this in arts and crafts, seeing as how we talk about crochet as much as we talk about babies!

Oh what lovely birth stories! I have something in my eye! Really happy for you both Flowers

WishIWasSleeping · 29/10/2016 20:32

You both sound very calm at the actual times of delivery!
What lovely stories. Ones your little ones won't be too embarrassed to hear when they grow up!
I cannot, however, imagine what almost 12hrs of contractions feels like! Shock

TheLittleFriend · 29/10/2016 21:10

Just popping by to enjoy your lovely birth stories. It's so bloody wonderful to be able to celebrate the birth of such long awaited babies.

keepitgoing · 01/11/2016 10:18

beedle that sounds lovely and calm in the end. How are things going? Any more weighings?
imps quite scary for you both but v pleased you always felt well looked after. You must have been exhausted, what a long labour, esp starting at midnight. I don't get how you could stop yourself pushing though, for me when it was time to push I had to! Hope bb wasn't too knocked around by the forceps, I must say he looks perfect in the pics
Love to everyone. trix any more scans/ plans?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 01/11/2016 11:52

imps how is it going with b-b?

Lovely to see some old faces around here!

A has unofficially regained her birth weight (as measured by me on the kitchen scales!) And I am almost back to my pre-pregnancy weight, which seems very quick. I'm still quite wobbly around the tummy but the weight just fell off last week. Not sure if I should be worried. We are seeing the health visitor tomorrow for official weighing so I'll ask her.

MrB has gone back to work today - it seems like we spent almost all his leave in hospital :-( But my parents arrive in a few hours so I'll be looked after for another week :o

imps you are a trooper & agree re birth plans! I hope you are all doing well.
beedles well done on As weight gain and your weight loss I guess some people just snap right back!
I put on a lot with N and have gained a lot again Blush but I lost all but 3 pounds , which is neither here nor there really, after N so hopefully I will this time too. Enjoy your time with your parents.
I had a scan yesterday his heart seems to be the same no real change so I will be having an induction at oxford at either 39 or 40 weeks I'm not sure but I think I will get the exact date at my next scan in 4 weeks.

keepitgoing · 01/11/2016 12:54

Beedle I've been back to normal within a week both times, why could it be something to worry about? Enjoy your parents meeting A. How lovely. Glad she's putting on weight, I'm sure your kitchen scales are very accurate ;)

BeedlesPineNeedles · 01/11/2016 12:59

That's good to hear keep I think I had just read loads about people really struggling to lose the baby weight so I just thought losing almost all of it in 2 weeks was a bad thing!

Unusual, maybe, but good!

Am enjoying a lovely lazy day, just me and my tiny snuffly boy

Imps9 · 01/11/2016 18:23

Hello everyone

So glad you're getting on well Keep and Beedles. I have lost sense of all normality here but am so happy with my lovely silly boy and Mr Imps has been beyond brilliant looking after us both. I wish I was able to have more sleep but B-B won't tolerate being put down when he's asleep so it's just not possible.

Re: the waiting to push, the natural pushing/poo sensation I couldn't do anything about - it was the "hold your breath and push into your bottom" pushing that we didn't do for an hour.

Well done on the weight gain Babybeedles! B-B had been struggling with feeding due to a tongue tie, but he had that cut this morning and it's made such a difference already.

How are you enjoying mat leave Geek?

Glad the scan didn't show anything further of concern Trix. Gosh, can't believe you will know your little boy's birth date soon!

keepitgoing · 01/11/2016 19:45

Doing shifts is quite normal at the start imps. I'm knackered too and f not wanting to nap alone in the day so much. Has your milk come in? How's your mum being??

Imps9 · 01/11/2016 20:42

Milk is in Keep - wowzers do they get full Shock Confused. Mum is being fine - not too full on which is good.

Shifts are fine for now - I guess I'm just so worried about Mr Imps going back to work if B-B isn't sleeping by himself by then. We've ordered a Sleepyhead which hopefully B-B will feel more comfortable in.

Sleepy baby cuddles are the absolute best though Grin

Imps9 · 01/11/2016 20:46

Oh and do you recognise this natty outfit?!

The one where the BROOKERS make babies and blankets and hats and other crochet stuff!
keepitgoing · 01/11/2016 21:23

He looks quite like f, weirdly... Very gorgeous! Hmm, well a lot can change in 2 weeks. The sleepyhead is no magic bullet here but I guess just keep trying and it'll change one day probably ;)
With s I had to wait 20 mins till she was in a deep sleep and arm was floppy before I could even try. F is slightly better

WishIWasSleeping · 03/11/2016 04:45

Oh baby pics are the best. What a cute little chap!
Keep's spot on with the sleep. Try not to worry too much, you will manage on two hours of interrupted sleep, even if you don't think you will! Mine used to hate her Moses basket. Slept better in the pram in the day, and I used to prop myself up on pillows at night with her in arms, despite all the co-sleeping horror stories, just to get some uncomfy and a bit restless sleep! She's just started sleeping though most nights at 10m...

Imps9 · 03/11/2016 10:19

Morning all!

Funny you mention co-sleeping Wish - that's exactly what we've done for the past two nights - me and B-B in the main bed and Mr Imps in the spare room. I've been breastfeeding lying down during the night which has worked really well as I haven't had to move B-B once he's fallen asleep which means he doesn't get woken up and I get loads more rest too. It's a bit sad for Mr I not to be there but for now we're going with what works.

Met up with NCT ladies yesterday - shows you what sleep deprivation does as I actively had to stop myself referring to J as Barry-Baxter Grin It was a very close call on a couple of occasions.

keepitgoing · 05/11/2016 00:55

I've never really managed / liked feeding lying down. It'll be your massive boobs that allow it imps

Any news on weigh ins beedle

geek are you enjoying m/l? Silly question.

ControlGeek · 08/11/2016 15:49

Aww these updates are so lovely to read. I'm also loving the pictures on fb!

M/L has now officially started though I still seem to be as busy and tired as ever. At least I can usually try and get a nap in at some point during the day now that I'm not at work. I had my pre-birth health worker appointment this morning, and she recommended Mumsnet as a great place to find out information and get in touch with other new mums - glad to know I've been doing the right thing already :D

keepitgoing · 09/11/2016 09:55

Yay geek, vv excited for you, remind me of your edd? How's mrgeek?

Can't believe the news today... :( but kip is 3 today, so focusing on that

BeedlesPineNeedles · 10/11/2016 08:38

Happy belated birthday to kip. Hope she had a lovely day.

Today is my first full day alone with A, and mrb will be later home than normal! She has been putting on weight, on Monday she was nearly 3kg. We have another weigh-in this afternoon, then hopefully we'll be on a more normal schedule of checks.

We're kind of coping with sleep, but we have been going to bed straight after Dinner!

OP posts:
Imps9 · 10/11/2016 17:34

Aaaah Geek are you keeping yourself too busy? Hope you're napping as much as you can - you can't beat a power nap or two during the day, especially as you get more pregnant.

Happy birthday to Kip for yesterday. I too cannot believe what the US has done to itself :(

All going fine here - B-B slept in his own bed last night for a grand total of 5.5 hours between 10am and 7am - this is a record! I also put him down for a nap this morning and he was quite happy to nap in his own bed for 1+ hours. Long may this continue. Mr Imps is back at work tomorrow and am worried about how I'll cope, but I guess I will just have to!

V pleased to hear that A is continuing to thrive Beedles. B-B was weighed today and is now 4kg [shocked]. He feeds so much though, so it's almost a relief that it's making him bigger rather than just making me knackered Grin.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 12/11/2016 10:53

Imps you will cope just fine.

So I went down to Epsom for my results yesterday and my total NK cell count was 253.10 and they said anything over 200 is high. No idea of the relevance but 236.90 were dim and 16.19 were bright. My thyroid stimulating hormone was 3.75, the results sheet said that up to 5 is normal but they said that in contradiction to that anything over 2 could cause a miscarriage. Treatment plan is to start thyroxine and aspirin and supplements immediately (am already on the supplements). From ovulation start prednisolone. On BFP start ranitidine, 400mg progesterone once a day at night, and fragmin 5000ii once a day between 6-9pm. Wean off pred from 12 weeks then stop ranitidine. Stop progesterone at 16 weeks. Stop aspirin at 20 weeks. Stop fragmin 6 weeks after birth and take thyroxine throughout and get levels tested after birth as may need to keep taking it? (Which confuses me as my levels aren't abnormal?!). Oh and says I should have my blood pressure checked every 2 weeks from BFP plus have a scan at 7 and 9 weeks.

Only problem being that they didn't have enough prednisolone so I am 56 days short. They said to pop in to pick it up but 6 train journeys and a £51 train ticket isn't "popping in". Don't suppose anyone has any leftover that they could send me? They said they would write to my GP but in my experience the NHS takes forever to communicate to each other!!

Imps9 · 12/11/2016 12:13

Now that sounds like a plan Loops :)

Can they not courier you the pred? All my IVF drugs were sent by specialist medicine courier. Sounds ridiculous to ask you to collect in person.

Imps9 · 12/11/2016 12:17

Oh and I did cope yesterday, but only got

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 12/11/2016 21:55

Imps they do feed a lot in the first few weeks and they feed to stimulate milk supply as well as feeding for feelings sake, as their tummies grow so much over the first 6 weeks and they need to increase your supply. I found with both boys that once we got to 6-7 weeks it got much much easier, and ds1 was doing 8+ hours solid sleep overnight by then and ds2 was doing the same by 7 weeks, but he was sleeping longer than ds1 as he was ready to go to bed earlier, he didn't cluster feed as much as ds1 did, think the lack of reflux had something to do with it!!
