I almost put this in arts and crafts, seeing as how we talk about crochet as much as we talk about babies!

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 28/10/2016 16:22

Congratulations Imps! (And Beedles if I haven't already said so as I can't remember when I last posted!)

So does that just leave trix to sneeze and then me to get a sticky BFP?!

I'm back to Epsom for the results on the 11th and back to Coventry on Monday for repeat scratch and biopsy for free. Won't be ttc December as want to enjoy Xmas but will be rat smacking from Jan. this month I had a shock, I ovulated early on cd20/21 instead of my usual cd26-30 which I hope is a good sign!

ControlGeek · 28/10/2016 17:38

Congratulations Imps Flowers the photos are so beautiful x

Beedle that's brilliant news on the weight gain, come on babybeedle!

I'm loving the names chosen for both though obvs am disappointed that J won't in fact be Barry-Baxter Haloween Sad

Good luck for your test results loopy, brooking that the early ovulation is the start of a new and successful pattern for you.

I think I'm up next, though am doubtful for a sneeze birth as today's growth scan had geekling weighing in at an approx 6.5lb, on course for being 9-10lb by due date. Even with the 20% margin for error, that still puts her at 5.5lb

Work held a surprise baby shower for me today, and my crazy best friend managed to smuggle a giant helium-filled pink rocking horse (among other things) into my office while my manager was keeping me suitably distracted. Just 1.5 days of work left Halloween Grin

Pastamancer · 28/10/2016 18:37

If it helps Geek I've heard that bigger babies can be easier to push out. Smaller ones can slip back up a bit between pushes whereas the bigger ones tend to stay put so don't need to push as much. Mine were 8lb 5 and 8lb 14, DD2 was bigger but only took 11 mins of pushing :)

keepitgoing · 28/10/2016 19:57

That's what I was told too geek, that bigger babies help more... Hmm. Those scans are notoriously inaccurate. Not long till m/l how fabulous

What happy days in the brooking world

DoopDoopBiscuit · 28/10/2016 20:57

Just popping in to congratulate beedles and imps! Cake Flowers And what fabulous names!! So happy for you both Smile

DoopDoopBiscuit · 28/10/2016 22:14

Sorry I named changed and forgot Blush Think I was fox when I used to post before

BeedlesPineNeedles · 29/10/2016 08:18

geek perhaps I shouldn't mention that the liwer estimate of geekling's weight is approx what A is now! It will be interesting to see who is bigger when she is born!

Thanks for the congrats all! I am absolutely loving spending time getting to know B-B (as he will always been known). He is a complete delight even if my fanjo will never been the same again

Geek hurrah for mat leave! I blimin well hope you get tonnes of feet-up time. Re: big bubbas, a fellow pregnancy yoga lady just had a 10lb 3oz'er just with gas and air and a birthing pool. Geekling will slip out with no issues in 10 weeks' time.

Loops are you enjoying this non-TTC period? I'm not sure "enjoying" is the right word actually, but I hope that the lack of monthly stress is letting you take it easy.

We're heading home from hospital today. Absolutely cannot wait to be together as a family of three!

keepitgoing · 29/10/2016 09:00

Yay for going home imps

Imps and beedle looking forward to your birth stories if you ever get a chance

We're all off to a wedding today, far away. Gulp.

Imps9 · 29/10/2016 11:26

Ooh okay, birth story:

Started contractions at midnight on Thursday. Got to every 7 mins or so. Then had big bleed at 7am, phoned the delivery unit and they told me to call an ambulance. Got to hospital about 7.30am.

Carried on for a while until they broke my waters to speed things along - can't remember what time that was, but I was 6cm dilated by that point. Got to fully dilated at about 5pm - it was only then that I thought to ask for gas and air Confused. Then they told me that B-B was back to back (in hindsight the clue was in his initials I guess!) and they wanted me to wait for an hour before starting to push as they wanted to see if he would turn.

Pushed for 2 hours from just after 6pm, but no progress was made and his heart rate was getting v low so they took me down for spinal block and forceps. Took a couple of contractions to get him out - I couldn't believe it when they put him on my tummy as I obviously had no feeling/idea that he was anywhere close to arriving. He was born at 8.48pm :)

I'm v v happy with how things went and actually I was pretty relieved when they said they were taking me down for assisted delivery as by then I was exhausted, demoralised and looking forward to no longer being in pain.

I cannot say enough fabulous things about all of the staff who looked after us. Not once did I feel scared or that either me or B-B was at risk and that was entirely down to them.

Does make me realise how laughable the focus on having a birth plan is though!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 29/10/2016 12:59

Ok birth story!

Monday evening I was feeling a bit unsettled, had had some bh that were quite strong. Due to the placenta previa I was supposed to get checked out, so we went in. I was feeling like an over anxious idiot though. Triage was short staffed so they sent us up to the special delivery ward (making me feel even more like a fraud.

They hooked me up to a ctg which showed that some of the bh were reaching a srength of 100 - but still not really painful. Then they scanned and examined me and decided that although my cervix wasn't open it was shorter than the week before. They found a room for me and mrb went off to get the bag from the car. Whilst he was gone they gave me an injection to try to stop the bh, at which point I started to bleed. Possibly a bit more than earlier bleeds but not massive amounts.

But this was enough for them to tell us to prepare for an EMCS possibly within an hour. As the bleeding had stopped they decided it wasn't quite so urgent but put me as nil by mouth and sent me to get showered in disinfectant. They stuck a drip in me and said we should try to rest, though they may come and get me in the middle of the night!

We managed some sleep with no interruptions. I think i had another ctg in the morning and then about 9:30 they said we would be going up to the operating theatre very soon. The drs came in to say hello first, one of them we had met on an earlier stay!

We went up to theatre, which I was very surprised to find had windows! Everyone introduced themselves whilst they asked me loads of questions. Then they stuck the needle in my spine. Eventually they were happy and they started. At 10.46 she was born. I gave her a kiss before she was taken behind my head for weighing etc - mrb was with her. We both shed a tear or 2.

Then they bought her back for some skin to skin - and to show me she was a girl.
