SummerHopin · 20/11/2016 11:17

Sorry I've been a bit quiet ladies, I've had a few days away to get myself together. Will reply properly tomorrow, but thanks for all your messages. They really mean lots. Have a good day everyone. Smile xx

danigrace · 20/11/2016 22:28

Happy Birthday Boggle Flowers Sending you lots of love and positivity!!

Great news with your follicles Amy! When I was working late and getting up at 10:30am my opks were peaking better at 10pm than 2pm so maybe when you wake up does make a difference.

Summer big hugs. The fact that you let yourself talk about how you feel is a good sign. You'll get there Flowers

Well I've been flitting between half-hearted happiness and a doom and gloom feeling that this won't stick around. Reading all the pcos crazy high miscarriage stats hasn't helped. Then I'm feeling mega guilty bc I know I should just be feeling happy and so appreciative and like I'm a really bad person for not letting myself feel like that. DH actually asked if I was okay and commented I seemed 'quietly sad', I feel like such a bitch!! So sorry if I'm causing offence, it's totally not my intention and I know how bad I'm being. I just can't be 'at peace' if that makes sense?

NeverGoOutOfStyle · 20/11/2016 22:50

Still no signs of a positive OPK for me, but I've had other signs of ovulation, like some of what I think is EWCM so hopefully I am going to ovulate, or have ovulated! Anyone else NEVER get a positive OPK?

AmyC86 · 21/11/2016 00:07

Still no positive OPK for me either, but Doctor said on Thursday that my follicle was measuring at 16mm and they tend to grow around 1mm a day. Ovulation will occur when the folicale is 20mm or more, which takes me to Monday, so I'm thinking any time now. I have had some stomach cramps (which I've read can be the folicale having its final boost of growth) but nothing much of anything else as yet.

dani I'm not even pregnant yet but I can help but feel doom and gloom. I've got a folicale which is ready to ovulate but I've been reading all kinds online 😯

DrewOB0 · 21/11/2016 08:16

Hello all ( waves at ladies that recognise me)
I wasn't going to post again but got a positive test today!!!
Can't tell anyone yet so I'll be over here squeaking. Blush

DrewOB0 · 21/11/2016 08:21

For the details : it was natural, 2 years of trying!

AmyC86 · 21/11/2016 09:17

dani, what you're feeling is normal and I think for anyone that has taken a long time to conceive or has issues will be nervous. I will sit and worry after what happened in October. If I ever get pregnant that is!

Thanks girls. And congrats Drew Flowers

You're doing all the right things Boggle, I have faith that you will xx

I hope you've enjoyed a sex-filled weekend Amy!!

Well I've been keeping with my high-dose vit B6 but have dropped it to every other day. It's the supp I used to support my progesterone to help me have a full luteal phase. Taking it long-term can start to cause nerve damage but I only started it the day after ov so don't think that can be classed as long-term. And I'm shit scared that if I stop taking it it will cause a drop in my progesterone and everything will come falling out... It's recommended to help with morning sickness so is early pg safe it seems. I'll stop taking it at 12 weeks I think, if I ever make it that far...

Was also reading studies where when pcos girls have carried on with their metformin rather than stopping on positive test, miscarriage rates have been reduced significantly. So with that in mind I've also been carrying on with the inositol (also pg safe).
Obviously I've stopped all my other stuff. Just having those, pregnacare, a pregnancy suitable fish oil, vit d oral spray, magnesium skin spray, & calcium (bc I don't have dairy). And still have my leafy green morning protein shake, it just has a lot less ingredients! Lol

Hope everyone has a good week xx

DrewOB0 · 21/11/2016 10:49

I was taking 2 g inositol. I think that's what did it

SummerHopin · 21/11/2016 12:08

Morning all.

Good to hear from you Dani, and I can understand your concerns. Just try to focus on the joy of it for now, and take each day as it comes. You're so much further forward just in that you have now had an ovulation, a positive result etc, just have faith and hopefully you'll get through fine :)

Congrats to Drew as well - nice to have some positive stories on this thread. Pleased for you.

I am feeling better this week. Last week I think I was hitting a bit of a rock bottom for me, but the good news is that once I had let it all out I feel much better and ready to start planning how we are going to deal with this. I think that although I pretty much knew what the score was, the bad experience mixed with the finality of it all meant I was in shock. I've calmed down, done some more reading up on things, and so am now better prepared.

Thanks to everyone for your messages of support they were so lovely when I was struggling. I have taken my last Provera this morning so hoping for a period anytime early next week ready for more bloods to see where I sit on this PCOS spectrum.

SummerHopin · 21/11/2016 12:09

p.s. Drew. As I'm new(ish) I wonder if you could let me know your story with PCOS? You say that you conceived naturally (Just with metformin). How long have you had it and how long have you been taking this?

Much appreciated :) x

DrewOB0 · 21/11/2016 12:33

I was diagnosed in 2010. We tried for 2 years with no luck ( I did go back on pill for a bit in middle when periods stop).
I've taken inositol for 6 mths, when i went up to 2 g i had one cycle 26 days then this cycle bfp.
I tried other supplements ( isoflavones) but from general health point of view inositol was game changing. Dosage is critical though

SummerHopin · 21/11/2016 13:27

Ah ok, interesting thanks. Had you ever been given MetFormin?

DrewOB0 · 21/11/2016 13:40

No, I wasnt prescribed it.

SummerHopin · 21/11/2016 13:44

Ok. I've not been prescribed anything yet but wondered if I should try and push for one over the other (not that I will probably have any say in the matter!) :) Its good to have a bit of knowledge before you go in though I think. Thanks x

DrewOB0 · 21/11/2016 13:52

Inositol is not a prescribed medication, you can get it from general health food stores.

YouBoggleMyMind · 21/11/2016 13:57

Metformin is prescribed as it's a diabeties drug. Some don't like to prescribe it for pcos, some are happy to. It also depends if you're insulin resistant or not. Clomid didn't work without it for me.

OP posts:
DrewOB0 · 21/11/2016 14:11

Metformin has been recognised by the NHS as being beneficial for PCOS so it should get easier www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Polycystic-ovarian-syndrome/Pages/Treatment.aspx

SummerHopin · 21/11/2016 14:55

Sorry ladies, I feel like I'm seriously late to the party on my knowledge of meds! Interesting about using it with Clomid.

Boggle - hello! How are you feeling after your mini break? x

AmyC86 · 21/11/2016 15:06

Still got a negative OPK. Hmm I well thought I'd of ovulated by now. Although Ovia says it'll be Wednesday going against my last totally natural 34 day cycle.

Had plenty of DTD though so fingers crossed!
