Congrats dani that is a HUGE BFP!!!! How do you feel? Aren't you going to the doctors this week?

How are you getting on satsuma xx

I've got my scan on Wednesday, fingers crossed for good sized follies

danigrace · 14/11/2016 10:17

Thanks girls!! Argh, can't believe it. And I totally have you to thank for kicking my butt back on to all the stuff that was working for me, so THANK YOU!! I feel really happy but also like I'm waiting for it to all go wrong if that makes sense?

Yes I'm due to get my first round of clomid tomorrow! GP said I should still attend the appointment so it doesn't go down as non-attendance or late cancellation, just incase I may need them again.

Good luck at your scan Amy!

NeverGoOutOfStyle · 14/11/2016 11:48

Congratulations dani, that is one clear as day BFP!

YouBoggleMyMind · 14/11/2016 12:29

Don't be a stranger now that you're up duffed dani, I'm sure you'll have no problems. Really pleased you didn't need any clomid.

Good luck with your scan on Wednesday amy, I hope you have some juicy follies xxx

Wow Dani, that is so clear. Congrats!

satsooma · 14/11/2016 13:21

I got no line at all on this morning's test. I seem to be bleeding lightly once every 24 hours or so. It is not exactly a period, but the bleeding is bright red now, so I think that is it for this month.

Does anyone have any advice for how to decide when to test next month? I tested on CD31 this month, which apprently was still too early. I guess there is no good way to decide that when you have PCOS/irregular cycles.

YouBoggleMyMind · 14/11/2016 13:33

Not sure I've ever ovulated on my own so not sure I have much help to offer. Sorry!

The light bleeding does seem odd, although if it is red, it may well be AF. Maybe give it another couple of days?

Hi Dani and congratulations to you!

Was this all without any help medically then from a PCOS p.o.v? I see you were about to start clomid - but you managed to get your BFP without it?

....sorry I know you've probably explained it all in the pages before now, but it would be nice to hear a success story! :) really happy for you x

SummerHopin · 14/11/2016 15:05

Ladies - I've got an ultrasound tomorrow, please can anyone tell me if they will talk to me about what they find during the test? Or will I have to wait to see my GP after the results to get any answers?

Advice please :) x

AmyC86 · 14/11/2016 15:15

Summer i got told that my ovaries where showing likeliness of pcos. But I didn't get my formal diagnosis until I went back to my Doctor.

AmyC86 · 14/11/2016 15:21

dani I've just been reading back on the thread to find out your natural remedy list & about 3 weeks ago you had a lap and dye!!!! You're supposed to be super fertile following a lap and dye!! Obviously you were!

Below is a previous message that dani wrote to show us what supplements etc she takes.

COPY/PASTED from a while back:
"So diet-wise a protein-heavy rather than carb-heavy diet, no added sugars /artificial sweeteners/ additives / processed foods / alcohol / gluten / only live organic yoghurt as dairy / only odd green tea as caffeine.
Supplement/extras-wise I've been having a protein shake each morning (natural stevia sweetened whey isolate) & add 1tsp inositol [great for insulin issues that studies show may be a leading factor in pcos]; 1tsp maca root powder [studies show boosts circulation & good for pcos]; 1tbsp freshly ground flaxseed [again been shown to help with pcos - stopped this one after ov, (1st half of cycle only)]; and I throw a fistful of organic leafy greens in there.
Also take Pregnacare conception; a good quality fish oil; calcium supp; high dose vit d3 supp; a herbal tincture prescription that includes agnus castus (stopped after ov); tribulus tincture days 5-14 of cycle [small studies have shown it can reduce ovarian cysts and boost chances of ov in up to 2/3 of pcos women, animal studies also v. successful]; also evening primrose oil 3 times a day from cd1 - cd14 to increase ewcm. Also been doing yoga most days in my living room before we start work or after work as well as going for a 30 min - 1hr walk with DH on our lunch break & daily fertility self-massage with geranium or clary sage oil (stopped after ov). Adding a high dose vit B6 for the luteal phase.
Don't think I've left anything out (opps yes I did - magnesium! Which I use in oil format sprayed on skin for better absorption), apologies for the essay

YouBoggleMyMind · 14/11/2016 15:23

I was the same as amy, had a scan and was told "mild to moderate pcos" but went back and discussed with GP once I knew she had my results. Every single scan nurse at the fertility clinic has told my how polycystic i am though so I think it's prolly now moderate/severe which is shite and prolly why clomid didn't work without metformin.

SummerHopin · 14/11/2016 16:29

Ok great, thank you. I'm still waiting for an actual PCOS diagnosis because my bloods are apparently not typical of PCOS and the gynae didnt think I had that many prominent symptoms (other than the fact that I've totally lost my periods!), so I was wondering if the scan nurse would be able to give her opinion.

I'm booked in for 11.30 tomorrow so hopefully by lunchtime I might have some more insight into whats going on.

When were your diagnoses Boggle?
Thanks xx

YouBoggleMyMind · 14/11/2016 17:45

And right on cue I get a letter with a pre op date for lap & dye and ovarian drilling, despite the fact that I said I didn't want to go down that route and it is even in a letter I was sent from the fertility clinic... why don't they listen?? It's really pissed me off.

OP posts:
YouBoggleMyMind · 14/11/2016 17:49

I was diagnosed in 2011 summer. Came off the pill and had no period for over 6 months then went to the GP and had tests/scan which showed pcos.

OP posts:
danigrace · 14/11/2016 18:24

Boggle could you have a hysterosalpingogram like I did instead of a lap & dye?

Amy you're right, it seems everything lined up in the end! Thanks for going back and copy/pasting

Summer over a few months doing the above I was feeling better generally, my temps started evening out, I was getting more and more ewcm in one patch instead of tiny bits spread through the month if any, and the constantly high lh that showed on opks eased off. So things have been slowly improving over time.

Thanks again so much ladies, think it's slowly starting to sink in... We're not planning on telling people until just before xmas, my friend who I'm birth partnering is due in 3-4 weeks and I don't want her worrying about me. I just hope it's a super sticky one!

Will you still have me in here? Am I allowed? Lol xx

Moomin37 · 14/11/2016 18:30

Huge congrats Dani Smile

Waves to everyone else, particularly the very lovely Boggle who is well over due a second line Flowers

YouBoggleMyMind · 14/11/2016 18:46

Hi moomin, thanks for popping back and being so lovely. Flowers when are you due due due?

dani, you're more than welcome on this thread from start to end. We always like to hear from our fellow pcos cysters Grin

If they want to check my tubes, I'm happy to have a hycosy but since I've had a chemical pregnancy, it would seem that at least one side is ok??

You're welcome Boggle - My EDD is 16.01.18. Finishing work at Xmas Smile

SummerHopin · 15/11/2016 13:00

Okay, am sat at work in tears.

Had my ultrasound today. The procedure itself was totally fine, although I had the most horrid lady doing it. She was really abrupt and made me feel bad for just being there, and then when she was doing the scan she said "oh yeah, they are definitely polycyctic, they look very bulky".

...that was it! She then stood up and walked over to the door, leaving me sat on the edge of the bed nearly in tears. I asked what it meant and she just said "oh I cant discuss that, you will need your GP", and ushered me out of the room.....she even shut the door on me!

I just stood in the corridor and burst into tears. I know that it was pretty much a given that I had got it, but talk about a slap in the face with the news. I've then had to drive straight back to work as I have to work until 5, but I'm all blotchy and red and cannot stop. My mind is going 100mph - I'm 31, I'm only now finding this all out, and I know its too late :( x
