yes dani pretty much back to normal here xx and we're just about to plan Christmas shopping which I haven't even started yet Confused usually got a few bits together by now, I must remember to try and get more organised!!!

HighHopes16 · 12/10/2016 07:41

Thanks everyone.
I've found a local ultrasound clinic that does fertility scans for £99 so I might just book one to hopefully put my mind at rest. If it's bad news I suppose I can take it to show my GP?
Good luck for your scan today Boggle !
Dani - I do try and stay positive but deep down I thought I'd be pregnant again by now!

YouBoggleMyMind · 12/10/2016 09:24

No less follicles. Gone back to clomid doing fuck all again. Have to go back for another scan in a week. I think I might just give up.

I have completely lost all hope. I really don't see the point anymore. Perhaps I'm just not meant to have children. Better going and start looking for a dog.

HighHopes16 · 12/10/2016 09:41

Don't give up hope Boggle - maybe you just need a break from it all for a few months?

I don't know your full story but there must be something else you can do, Clomid is just one treatment. Have you tried Metformin? Discussed the next step of IVF? Flowers

YouBoggleMyMind · 12/10/2016 10:01

Metformin finally made clomid work. We then have a chemical pregnancy and now clomid has decided it doesn't want to work.
Next step will be injectables I'd guess. We have one last ditch attempt at clomid after this shit cycle.

Thank you Dani for the advice, I will give that a go.

I phoned the NHS Gynea clinic and they were able to bring my appointment forwards, they also said that I am free to call everyday to see if another closer appointment becomes available. Just in case any other ladies are just waiting for their initial NHS consultation appointment, give them a call.

Boggle - I really feel you, but don't give up. Mumsnet has been a great source of comfort and inspiration to me, taken me a little bit of courage to actually post on here. Stay positive, as hard as it is.

AmyC86 · 12/10/2016 14:06

boggle that is absolutely shit xx Flowers for you xx get yourself a furbaby, it might take your mind off it xx I've two furbabies & they keep me happy xxx

YouBoggleMyMind · 12/10/2016 14:23

Thanks amy, feeling really low about it all. Just seem to keep getting kicked every time something vaguely positive happens. Xx

Elly1685 · 12/10/2016 20:57

Wow lots to catch up on tonight ladies.

Oh boggle don't be down on yourself. Maybe you do need to take your mind off it for a few months as I'm sure the stress isn't helping. Sorry to sound ignorant but what do you mean by no lead follicles?

Thanks for your advice Seahawk - I will book my appointment when my scan date comes through. I always try and get an appointment before or after work and it's always a long wait!

I'm still taking inositol but that doesn't seem to be making a difference - have people had any results from it? Or recommend anything else to take?

Xx

YouBoggleMyMind · 12/10/2016 21:32

No worries elly, each cycle you're meant to produce 1 dominant follicle which produces a mature egg which then gets release (ovulation). Clomid is meant to make that happen... the last 2 cycles I've had 3 and 2 dominant follicles but my scan today showed that I don't have any dominant follicles so at the minute, it is hugely unlikely I will not ovulate. However, it might be that my body is being slow and it'll catch up by next week, however that hasn't happened in the past. Xxx

Hi everyone. Hope you are all doing well.

I disappeared for a few weeks, as I had over a month to wait before I could start my next round of treatment and just needed a break from it all really. AF has come really quickly this month though (23 days, when last cycle was 214 days). So it looks like I am moving straight to starting Clomid tonight.

I did a search on what to expect with Provera (not gonna take that now, since AF showed up by itself) and Clomid and found myself back at the beginning of this thread with EllaMenoPea’s first post from a year ago. What sort of side effects should I expect with Clomid. Im worried it is going to make me sick - any pill with hormones in it always makes me vomit :(
__

Boggle so, so sorry to hear that AF came. Flowers I know you must feel so discouraged, but don’t give up. I’m trying to think of a sensitive way to say that a chemical pregnancy shows that your body is 100% capable of getting pregnant. It just takes a few tries to stick for most people.

Welcome back Amy. Glad you enjoyed your break!

Hope things get back on track now that you are taking all your supplements again Dani. Are you taking any prescription medicines to help your cycles get back on track, or are the doctors waiting for something first?

Elly my last cycle was 214 days! I think I should have been prescribed something to kick start a cycle long before it got to that point though.

YouBoggleMyMind · 13/10/2016 14:43

Thank you satsooma, I am trying to hold on to that bit of information.

I'd suggest taking clomid at night before bed so you limit the symptoms you feel. I only had hot flushes and it didn't make me unwell in way. Fingers crossed it doesn't for you. Clomid isn't technically a hormone, it just makes your body produce more fsh.

OP posts:
AmyC86 · 13/10/2016 15:50

yes satsooma i agree with boggle take your clomid at night. I only had some flashes in the morning up to around lunch time at the latest & slept through any other side effects xx

satsooma · 13/10/2016 16:44

Thanks for the advice Amy and Boggle. Will take it tonight then.

Just read the leaflet again and you are right, it does not contain hormones. It actually suppresses estrogen to get your to make more FSH. Must have had it confused with Provera :)

YouBoggleMyMind · 13/10/2016 17:42

Good luck satsooma, may your follicles grow grow grow!

How you doing amy? Xx

OP posts:
YouBoggleMyMind · 13/10/2016 17:42

dani, are you taking all the vitamins again?

OP posts:
AmyC86 · 13/10/2016 20:29

not doing much tbh boggle had that horrendous bleed whilst on holiday. I've got a prescription for norethisterone but I can't bring myself to take it yet Hmm going to give it a few more weeks & see how I feel xx

like you, I can't bare to go through all the messing around for bad news at the moment.

YouBoggleMyMind · 13/10/2016 21:26

It's such hard work. The disappointment is heartbreaking but as close as I am to throwing it all in, I also remind myself that it'll just make the process even longer. It's just not fair xxx

OP posts:
AmyC86 · 13/10/2016 23:25

I know xx I totally agree. For me, it's the pain I go through with the bleeds following the clomid - they're really out of this world. Dealing with this, after the anguish and disappointment of it not working is just awful.
Then the thought of starting all again is just awful, the process is so long and drawn out.
My next gyne appointment is in February - I'd love to be pregnant by then, but I'm in huge doubts that I will Sad

YouBoggleMyMind · 14/10/2016 10:29

amy, here is a huge cuddle xxx

OP posts:
danigrace · 14/10/2016 10:53

Boggle it's totally normal to feel like you do. Try and keep plugging away at it, any cycle could be 'the one'. Big hugs xx

Amy big hugs to you too!! Ahh Christmas shopping, my Mum & I have booked a date next week to go together!

Hopes can you not get a scan from your GP?

Nutcracker your most welcome. And that's great news you managed to bring your appointment forward - that's a good tip.

Elly natural therapies can take a few months to build up and have a good effect on your system so you have to be patient which isn't easy! but I've had success with them in that I've ovulated twice & had natural periods. I found my post where I listed all I do and will paste it for you in a sec.

Best of luck with your first cycle satsooma!

Well thank you ladies for giving me a kick up the bum - I started taking everything again and today have a period Grin booked in for the dye in my tubes a week today. Woop woop

SummerHopin · 14/10/2016 11:03

Good morning ladies.
I'm a newcomer to this thread, and haven't actually been diagnosed with PCOS yet, but was hoping for a bit of advice. My stats are:

Aged 31 (DH 33)
ttc #1
Off pill end of March. Cycles since then were 28, 36, 42, 44, 47. Currently on CD 44 of this cycle, and for some reason this time I thought I was pregnant so got impatient yesterday and tested.....BFN

Have been to docs as have had recurrent thrush (sorry TMI!!) on and off for literally years and wondered if that would have any effect on us ttc.

I had an ultrasound a while back before ttc after tummy aches and all was clear, could I still have PCOS?

I wasn't sure if the long cycles were enough of a sign of PCOS? Or if you can be normal but still have ultra long cycles? I have no one to really ask about this so any help appreciated. Am losing faith and feeling pretty low Sad
