Hi jstall, prolly best to post this elsewhere in conception as this is a thread for ladies who are struggling to get pregnant. I'm not sure we are able to help you, you'll need to know how long your cycles are and when you usually ovulated (or at least a guess) to figure out when you conceived.

Good luck.

Thank you amy, excited to get started with this round. I know I should look ahead but if it works, my 12 week scan will be around my birthday in November. Best present ever! Hopefully!

Ah kellers, how annoying! Hopefully it goes!

kellers · 31/08/2016 09:01

Sorry Jstall90 - I can't help you! Hope you are able to find out though...
Think you may have misunderstood the "and periods (or lack of)" bit part which refers to the irregularity of AF in many women with PCOS...easy done.

Good luck - hope you get some answers! Smile

AmyC86 · 31/08/2016 09:47

robber it's definitely a positive sign!!! I always look for strange connections like this!!! Scan on Wedding Anniversary and then possibleither 12 week scan on or around your birthday!!!!

Would you be due around the first week of July? My birthday is then 😄

On a shocking note, I can't believe that we're already in due dates of July AGAIN! Complete and utter madness!!!

AmyC86 · 31/08/2016 09:48

Oops! Dunnour why I said robber of course I meant you boggle

YouBoggleMyMind · 31/08/2016 09:58

Beginning of June amy. I hope that these little signs mean something. It'd be great if it all fell into place like that after over 2 years of trying!

September is PCOS awareness month!

Come on ladies, let's show PCOS who is boss!

Also, I lost 2.5lbs at weight watchers yesterday! Well chuffed, especially as we'd been away!

kellers - I'm an FE college lecturer in English. Sort of been slowly drifting back to work since the A Level and GCSE results, just for meetings etc, but in every morning next week working on induction and subject planning, and then back to teaching on 12th September. I'm part-time though, so I can't complain too much!! Def insist on getting referred to gynae, you could have a bit of a wait on your hands so def good idea to be on the list.

boggle - good job on the weight loss front!! Esp since you have been away!

amy - hope bleeding clears off for you soon.

I'm still feeling really sick and tired. Both my DSs were really wiped out by this virus so although I haven't properly come down with it, it feels a bit like I'm battling it off. It's making the clean eating really difficult, I just want to eat toast, everything else is hard going on my stomach. And of course on paleo diet bread is a big no no. So I am not having a good time of it!! I'm on apprx CD25 of a kinda WTF post-Provera cycle so I guess it's fairly likely AF will show up next week with a vengeance just when I properly go back to work!!

satsooma · 02/09/2016 11:06

Ok if I join?

I am 31YO. Off the pill and TTC #1 for almost a year. No periods since February. Diagnosed with PCOS a few months back. I've been on Metformin for 10 weeks now. Still no periods, just lots of nausea and vomiting (oh, and a massive - looks like I am pregnant - bloated stomach) from the Metformin. But I had cramps bad enough to keep me awake at night this week, so maybe AF is on the way :)

I've already lost 20 kg (3 st 2 lb) and have reached a healthy BMI. My GP does not have any more ideas at this point, so I am currently waiting on a referral to a hospital fertility clinic. Not sure what sorts of things they will try though.

It makes me crazy that I am already nauseous, vomiting and unable to fit into my clothes due to a massive bloated stomach already though. Surely it is only fair to have to go that once you are pregnant! Guess I don't miss the periods though ...

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/09/2016 11:26

Welcome satsooma.

Perhaps you need to manage your metformin dose? If it's giving you that many side effects then perhaps you can reduce it? I struggle to take 1500mg most days so drop to 1000mg and I seem to be ok.

Metformin doesn't always bring back AF for people. It reduces insulin resistance which can then lead to your ovaries functioning normally, which is often why it is coupled with clomid.

Do you know how long your wait is for the fertility clinic?

OP posts:
satsooma · 02/09/2016 15:24

Thanks Boggle!

I'm only taking 2 x 500 mg Metformin a day, so I don't think I can reduce it much. The nausea was mostly fine for a while. For some reason it has gotten worse over the past week or two. Certain types of food (bread, chocolate) make it worse. Guess I need to cut down on the carbs some more.

Not sure how long I have to wait for the fertility clinic. GP agreed to refer me about 3 weeks ago, but I think the referral letter only went out today. She had to get the referral cleared by colleagues, but then was on holiday for 2 weeks.

How long did you all have to wait for your referrals?

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/09/2016 22:42

My referral came through in a few days and then I booked an appointment straight away. Had to wait for around 7 weeks for the appointment though.

Ah, well maybe you try alternating from 500mg to 1000mg, like every other day? I'm sorry you've had trouble, it isn't nice.

Xxx

Can't believe it girls, still experiencing this light bleeding, just when I wipe. It'll be 2 weeks on Sunday. It hasn't been continual, it did stop for about 3 days (Wednesday until today) but it's started again. Didn't really realise it had been going on for so long until I read back on this from the other day Sad have done a test at the beginning of the time, going to do another in the morning, doubt it'll be positive though.

If it is negative I'll be going the doctors next week.

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/09/2016 23:22

Oh amy, how bloody frustrating. No pun intended! Grin

I think you're sensible to try and get back to the doctor. Once they know it's ok, can you get some provera to get things going good and proper?

Xxx

Hi girls hope u don't mind me joining. I have been reading this for a couple of weeks but just felt like I needed a little rant today. We have been ttc since June 15. I have taken 4 months of clomid. 3 months have not worked. this month I have upped my dose to 3 tablets a day, day 2-6. I rang for my blood test results today and they couldn't test my blood for some reason. I just feel really fed up. 😢 I just want to know if this is working! N now I have to wait another month. It's so stressful. Hope everyone is having a good day! X

YouBoggleMyMind · 07/09/2016 08:48

Hi Lee, welcome!

Sounds very frustrating for you! You aren't out yet though and this could still be your month! Fingers crossed for you xxx

Update from me:

I'm cd9 and finished my last clomid tablets cd6.
Tomorrow I'm going to start peeing on OPKs to see if I can see when ovulation's going to happen. Got my scan on cd14 which is also our wedding anniversary so hoping that will bring us good luck.

The thread is really quiet at the minute, how is everyone?

OP posts:
AmyC86 · 07/09/2016 17:44

I was thinking the same thing boggle far too quiet. I'm cd 64 and still spotting although it's slightly heavier than it was as I'm having to use sanitary products now, still no where near a proper AF though.

Got gynecology appointment on Monday, not looking forward to it tbh, because they'll probably complain about my weight.

satsooma · 07/09/2016 20:05

Hi Amy! That sounds really frustrating. I've been spotting every couple of weeks since February. Never enough to need sanpro though. It is maddening, because every time it starts I think, ooh maybe this time it will be a real period. Hope your appointment helps.

satsooma · 07/09/2016 20:09

Thanks for the advice Boggle. I've decided to go down to just 500 mg Metformin per day. Hopefully that way I'm getting some of the benefits, but less of the sickness.

I got a fertility clinic referral letter through today, but my GP messed up and I got a private appointment, so now I have to get a proper NHS referral done. Will probably set me back another few weeks. Grrrrr.

I didn't expect to be referred straight to an IVF fertility clinic though. I assumed there was an NHS hospital dept. or something that would do more tests first. It sounds like this clinic can advise on treatments other than IVF (and maybe do them in house?) though. Pretty confused at this point.

YouBoggleMyMind · 07/09/2016 20:43

Perhaps mix and match sataooma, just gotta see how your body takes it all. My nurse just told me something is better than nothing. Good luck.

amy, try not to worry about the we got aspect when you got to your next gynae appointment. The spotting is the thing you need to address.
