We have been ttc for a couple of months now and I am getting paranoid that the big 40 is getting closer. How long should I try before getting us both checked out at the doctors?

It usually takes a healthy couple up to a year to conceive on average. However, if your approaching 40, I would give it 6 months then go and see a doc. Just cos referrals and fertility drugs all take time. Hopefully you won't need any of that. Try to relax X

NHS says 1 year if you are under 35, less (around 6 months?) if you are over 35 www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Fertility/Pages/Getpregnant.aspx

Are you using an ovulation test?

Thanks, I have just started using an ovulation test so fingers crossed. It is only month 3 of trying so I am probably being over sensitive. I am trying not to think about it but it is so hard.
