AF due 20th July / 5DPO - Who Wants to Test With Me??

BambooBambii · 11/07/2016 13:35

Hello!

Some of these threads are HUGE and I'm feeling a bit lost, so I'd thought I'd make a new one for anyone who is due their AF Wednesday 20th July (or thereabouts!) and are 4/5 DPO.

Symptoms so far
1-3DPO - Nothing
4DPO - sore boobs and lots of clear CM (sorry!)
5DPO - very sore lower back right in the middle, sore bbs + AF style cramps

A little about me... I've suffered x2 miscarriages over the years, one at 6 weeks and the other at 10 weeks (had a D&C). Horrible experience but hoping for a sticky bean this time! So technically I'm trying for my 1st.

Would love to know a bit about you as well and hope we can test together - and try to keep sane while waiting! Good luck everyone Smile

Hi ladies, how is everyone doing? I'm cd39 now and still no AF. I had a small amount of browny tinged cm yesterday so thought she was on her way but everything has disappeared. I did an ic this morning and I think it's a bfn but if you totally squint and look at it from a certain direction don't know if there's something? Total wishful thinking I think. Hope you're all doing well? Smile

Hold the faith Poppy! Gret news bright smoke!

I'm on cd9 and just got a flashing smiley..... I ovulated on cd19 last month so this could be interesting! Off on hols so perfect timing!

PurpleHaze1 · 27/08/2016 12:32

Poppy I can see a line! Ive inverted it for you... How quickly did it come up? Pretty sure I got an evap on an IC this month but if it came up straight away if could be a very faint positive!

Perfect timing swimming

Fx it is a line poppy, My eyesight is proper rubbish so I am the worst line spotter!

swimming how long after a flashing smiley do you get a positive one. I'm on CD8 and not sure when to start using OPKs.

Poppydm · 27/08/2016 14:08

Thanks so much for doing that Purple I think it's probably an evap. I'll maybe do another frer in a few days if still no AF. That's great timing swimming hopefully being all relaxed will be what you need.

PurpleHaze1 · 27/08/2016 14:24

Still keeping my fx for you poppy.

This is the BBT thermometer I bought. It arrived today so will start temping from tomorrow... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B015WKODDM/ref=mpssa111aait?ie=UTF8&qid=1472304150&sr=8-1&keywords=basal+thermometer&pi=SY200QL40

Brightsmoke · 27/08/2016 15:12

I still don't have dark lines on the tests like that poppy I took a tesco digital test that came up with the positive, I'm amazed at how early and accurate it was! Might be worth buying one? Then it's a definite either way too!

Thanks swimming I have no idea how I'm not going to self combust with excitement for the next 8 months!! X

Poppydm · 27/08/2016 16:18

Thanks everyone. I feel rotten today. Keep feeling crampy and that AF is coming but it just doesn't. Also feel so tired and bloated. Thanks for the link to the bbt thermometer purple def going to try temping next time. JB I usually start checking opks from CD 10. Do you have the CB ones? I just used Internet cheap ones but might try the CB if anyone thinks it's worth it?

JB1983 · 27/08/2016 17:01

I just have IC OPKs, all packed in my suitcase. I can't do temping as I work night shifts and early shifts so wouldn't be able to take my temp consistently enough.

PurpleHaze1 · 27/08/2016 17:08

To be honest JB if they're just IC id probably start testing now. Just because they're cheap so it doesn't really matter! But I do love POAS Grin How long is your cycle usually?

JB1983 · 27/08/2016 17:49

It varies anywhere from 27-47 after coming off the pill over a year ago, however things seem to have stabilised in the last 5 months as now cycles are 27-31. I tried OPKs last month before we officially started trying to try and get an idea of when I ovulated and I it was around CD19 but could be totally different this cycle. Your right they are cheap as chips so I should just start POAS, just a bit worried I'll become a bit obsessed with POAS!

Poppydm · 27/08/2016 17:50

Ha ha I'm the same purple Do you know when in your cycle you would usually ovulate? Id definitely start soon.

Justkeepswimming99 · 29/08/2016 10:07

My cycles have been a random 23 to 33 but usually 28 JB, I was starting to test on day 7 but have pushed it to 8 or 9. I've had a static smiley one day after a flashing and I've also had about 7 in a row. So far 2 flashing so far!

Poppydm · 29/08/2016 16:56

AF arrived today. Mixed feelings but think I'm just glad not to be in limbo anymore. What a horrendously long cycle. Hope it was a one off. Purple I'm buying one of those thermometers so hopefully that will help to figure out what is going on with ovulation. What do people think of the CB ovulation things? Are they worth the money or am I better just trying temps this month along with the ic ovulation strips?

PurpleHaze1 · 29/08/2016 17:57

Sorry AF arrived poppy Sad

Do you mean the CB fertility monitor or the CB ovulation tests?

On day 2 of temping. I'm very intrigued to see what it reveals! I just bloomin hope I actually do ovulate!

MightyLightningMouse · 29/08/2016 22:35

Aw Poppy I'm so sorry to hear about AF!! I squinted a lot and was so sure I could see a line. Glad you're seeing the positives and get BDing again asap :) I'm not sure about you, but since I've been TTC my cycles have been awful, coming earlier and earlier with weird symptoms/signs. Did you get a positive OPK? I'm still doing them and still nothing, tempted to see doc or is that a waste of time? Fx for you next month Flowers

How is everyone doing? Did you all have a nice bank holiday?

MightyLightningMouse · 29/08/2016 22:39

purple how is temping going? I'm so hoping you get some answers/results, I'm convinced I don't ovulate! Or I've bought some dodgy OPKs from China Hmm Is it the higher your temp the more close you are to Ov?

I don't even know what cycle day I'm on anymore as AF just coming earlier and earlier. Might stop trying for a bit Sad

Huge congrats Brightsmoke its sooo lovely to get some BFPs on here! Hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months! I'm really behind on this thread, would you mind sharing some symptoms and at what DPO you tested??

Poppydm · 30/08/2016 09:02

Either Purple only ever used ic ovulation sticks so interested to hear any recommendations or things not worth bothering with. My thermometer is due for delivery today so I'm going to try temping this month. Thanks ladies. I'm not feeling too down about it; I'm just kind of relived there's a resolution as limbo is awful. I didn't get a positive OPK this month mighty but given the cycle, I might have missed it as they say your luteal phase is always the same. Mine is usually around 12 days so I may have ovulated on cd29? This however makes no sense to me as I had no symptoms of ovulation whatsoever at that time but did have ewcm and ovulation pains around cd20 when I usually would. Hence now the temping as I have no idea Confused What is your cycle length pattern? I stopped the pill in April and mine has been 25/30/31/41. If you're concerned about it, there's no harm having a chat with your gp.

Brightsmoke · 30/08/2016 11:52

Hi Mighty, thanks :) I'm bricking it already! Just praying nothing goes wrong! The main symptoms I noticed where sore boobs and really REALLY achey legs and knee joints that just didn't go. I had nausea but no sickness, but otherwise just normal AF cramps. My boobs and legs get the same before AF, not as painful though, but just didn't disappear this time! I tested 11 DPO I think. I had used the cheaper strip tests before then, but they were all BFN, even though I was convinced I could see a line, maybe I could! Then I tested with tesco digital test, and it came up straight away! Taking it apart, the blue lines were really clear. It's only recently that I have got an obvious BFP on the cheaper strip ones. I'm really impressed with how the tesco ones were, I tested mid morning with one and it came up, where as the strip tests had all been first morning wee. X

PurpleHaze1 · 30/08/2016 12:44

Glad you're doing well bright Smile

Good to hear from you mighty. Temping is fine although I'm worried that my sleep patterns are so erratic that I might not get a clear trend. Hoping it'll reveal something though. I'm using the fertility friend app & kind of hoping it'll just work it all out for me. Ha! Although I have become slightly obsessed with googling BBT charts to see what they look like Hmm At the moment I only have 3 days worth of data so it's not showing anything yet obviously. Still using IC OPKs as well - covering all bases! Ha ha!

PurpleHaze1 · 30/08/2016 12:50

poppy I really don't rate the Clearblue Dual Hormone OPKs. They gave me a peak reading on CD9 two months in a row despite there being barely a hint of a line on the ICs and no smiley on a normal CB OPK ( yes I am obsessed with POAS!). Plus my cycles are at least 28 days long so I don't see how I was ovulating on CD9! It could be that there's something wrong with my hormone levels (thats what Clearblue said to me) but I wouldn't waste my money on them again. I do quite like the normal CB OPKs though. When I get a dark line on the IC, I use the CB to check & it gives me a smiley. By doing it that way, I can make the CB ones last longer as I only use them when I know I'm really close to ovulating.

I've never used the Fertility Monitor but have heard good things about it. It's £££ though which puts me off although I probably spend more over time on the various OPKs I use!

MightyLightningMouse · 30/08/2016 14:45

Guys I need your best squinting eyes! I'm so confused. I've been having nausea since last week, and last night my gums started bleeding for no reason wtf. So I decided to test today (got loads of the bloody things, as every time I'm due to test AF appears! Not amused.)

Is this a dye run do you reckon? I'll take another one soon as I'm home (at work at the mo).

My period was so weird this month, but I do honestly think it's a dodgy test. (Although a part of me really hopes it isn't!!) Whatcha reckon? Was with FMU. Thank you!

MightyLightningMouse · 30/08/2016 15:04

Brightsmoke How did you surprise DH/DP?? You must be so excited! Is this your first DC? Oooh I'm tempted to try a Tescos one now, I've just got a mountain of those cheap internet ones! Hence why I think I've got dye run (pic above) So the only symptoms that were unusual for you were achey legs and nausea? Whens the due date? Smile

Purple By sleep patterns do you mean you're struggling to sleep, or..? It sounds like you're doing everything you can to track Smile I was googling on how to track ovulation for irregular periods, and the only things we can really do is temp, chart, use ov strips, and check flippin' mucus! (I hate doing it that way, it never looks like it's supposed to on the day you need it to lol) You need to buy yourself a pretty temping notebook Grin Let me know how you get on, I'm TEMP-ted (lol gettit?!) to start myself.

Poppy Glad you're feeling ok! In the nicest way possible I'm glad its not just me struggling with ov, it all sounds so easy doesn't it?! Until it comes to actually doing it yourself! My cycle length is usuallyHmm 30, but its been 33, 32, 31, and 29 (averaged out at 30) this past year. Let me know how you find temping

Checked Google last night and I should be CD16 and apparently I'm due to ovulate around 28th - 2nd September so I'll be POAOS crazy this week! Still feeling completely clueless and frustrated!

PurpleHaze1 · 30/08/2016 15:05

Oh I'm not sure mighty it's very very faint. Test again when you're home. Everything crossed for you! Smile

MightyLightningMouse · 30/08/2016 15:51

Thank you for the input purple It is isn't it!! Oh well it's the most line I've had so far Grin I'll update when I'm home
