Pregnancy test

Hi, basically I'm not due on for another 5 days but I tested anyway and I got one faint positive yesterday and a faint positive today and 2 negatives? Yesterday's test is much darker than today's.. I'm worrying.. Any advice ?xx

Hi, where they different types of tests or all the same? ( Am thinking the negative ones are maybe not as sensitive and just not picking up yet)

Worrying about what? Your period isn't due for 5 days. Test then and go from there.

They're all the same tests, I'm worried in case I am actually pregnant because why would an older test be stronger than a recent one x

But it doesn't work like that. How strong the line is doesn't matter.

Also, 5 days is really really early. If your period comes as normal then you wouldn't even think twice about it if you hadn't tested. This "is it isn't it" is part of the reason they tell you to test from the date of your period.

Leave it 5 days, test again, you'll have your answer with no angst involved.

A lot of people test early. It's an exciting process. Not everybody has the same amount of patience. Hence the doubt when somebody gets an early positive, followed by a negative. PotteringAlong I feel you was rude when replying to OP. All people are looking for is a bit of advice when there's no one else to go to. Most of us have been or are going through the same thing. So a few words of wisdom are all people want. Not blunt, senseless replies like the one you have given. Try and empathise a bit. If you haven't been in her position, there will come a time when you are. No harm in being hopeful every now and again, even if it does seem all gloomy. oscarsmummyy' maybe try a different brand. I think pottering was just pointing out that the strength of the positive result doesn't matter, positive is positive, but at this very very early stage it doesn't mean much as many fertilised eggs that implant (and thus give a positive pregnancy test) do not go on to be viable pregnancies and by waiting until your period is due you don't end up doing your head in by getting positive results and then your period as usual. You probably are pregnant. But at this very early stage the viability of the embryo is so up in the air that you really are better off waiting until your period is due to test in order to avoid this unnecessary anxiety. I have had five pregnancies, but only two dc came of those five, so I know the temptation to test early but testing when your period is due means you can feel a little more confident in the result, save money on tests and avoid all this am I/aren't I.

It's not a senseless reply, although I will admit it was a bit blunt. 15%-25% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage. Some figures have that as high as 50% with many pregnancies ending before you even know you're pregnant.

Testing 5 days early will never give you an answer.

I tried a different brand Shannon and even that was unclear been ttc for a while now and had a miscarriage in January just want to finally see that positive x
