Hi everyone here is the August bus carrying on from the one I was on previous month with u ladies.
Fx this is a lucky bus!
Had my implant out yesterday and gp said I should be good to go within a week.

Not too sure how to track so hoping af arrives to kick things off :-)

Ttc no 2

I've just hopped on the Sept bus but came back to have a little lurk

that's great news dani!
The plan definitely seems to have helped, what supplements/foods did you end up going with then?

sk1pper · 15/08/2016 17:28

Tree - hey :) I'm on both buses. No shits given!!

Calmisthemantra · 15/08/2016 18:16

So due to my cycle dates I actually have 2 chances in August Grin

I am next due AF on 30th. Due to a mix up with dates last month (we are doing the rhythm method) it turned out we dtd accidentally in my fertile week. When I got the BFN it made us realise that we'd like to crack on with it now rather than waiting until next year.
So this is officially cycle 1 ttc #3, made a bit tricker as DH works away in the week, this week I'm due to ov on Tuesday but we dtd on Friday and Sunday. Fingers crossed the Sunday swimmers hang around.

Lulu298 · 15/08/2016 18:31

Fingers firmly crossed calm! And for everyone who is still on the bus.Wink

High five dani for all the things you've done to combat PCOS - that's bloody amazeballs!

And am so impressed sk1pper with your health regime. How do you cut down on sugar? I am totally addicted!

sk1pper · 15/08/2016 19:01

Lulu - the easiest thing is to cut out all sugar drinks to begin with. We just drink water to be sure, though I missed fizzy drinks so carbonated water helped stop my cravings to begin with. Now it's my drink of choice. Then I cut out sweets. We normally treat ourselves to a cake in a coffee shop after our walk at weekends but we share it so it's not too bad.

Niks2026 · 15/08/2016 20:43

Fingers crossed for you calm. I am also ttc #3. I'm due af the 22nd. I don't want to wish away the summer holidays but I need to know now. My boobs, cf, funny tasting food and vivid dreams are telling me it's a BFP and I hope I'm not just symptom spotting.

ginandcake · 15/08/2016 20:55

Totally with you Niks, I have got myself totally convinced I'm pregnant but not testing for another ten days. Going to be so disappointed when I'm not.

Congrats Dani, it is amazing what some you can do without the need for any drugs. And well done to you sk1pper, hopefully the changes will pay off for you soon.

sk1pper · 15/08/2016 21:13

Niks - vivid dreams? Is that a possible pg symptom?

Niks2026 · 15/08/2016 21:52

Skipper I had them when I was pregnant with my girls. I also get them about others. I dreamt my sister was pregnant and she was. And my sister in law and she was. Just get a really weird feeling in my sleep and I wake up remembering what I've dreamt about. Last night was all about my BFP and how I'll tell people about the baby. So weird.
Gin what pg symptoms are you having? I can test in 5 days but that's based on a 31 day cycle and my can range anywhere between 27-34. I want to just not test at all until I am over a week late but I know I'll cave. Are your cycles always X amount of days exactly?

ginandcake · 15/08/2016 22:49

Hard to say because only had my coil out in May but they're between 28 and 31 days. According to ovia AF should be due around the 25th. I've got sore breasts, cramping, and I'm really tired. Had to stick cbeebies on for the kids so I could have a sneaky nap today! Either I'm pregnant or coming down with something. I just hate the waiting, it's driving me crazy!

lousylear · 16/08/2016 06:19

According to Ovia I can test next Tuesday. With my others I always waited til AF was late. I'm obviously losing patience as I'm getting older. I'm desperate to test. I feel pregnant! Dtd every other day and then every day at the right time so fx. I've ordered some earlys from eBay. Might try one on Friday.

danigrace · 16/08/2016 08:54

Thanks so much ladies, you're all so lovely & supportive. It really am amazed, esp as I was one of the cases that docs said lifestyle changes wouldn't make a diff (wasn't classed as overweight / a smoker / drinker etc.) but clearly natural methods can still make a huuuge difference!!

Skipper glad you enjoyed the bbq! I understand you though - when you've been healthy that ling then have a little taste if something you think is a treat it can be surprising to find your body just doesn't like it any more!
We have been having regular sex bc that's our norm anyway but if I'm honest my focus has been trying to make ov occur rather than just trying to pinpoint it etc.

Good luck Lingo & Lear & Calm my AF is due around the same time.

Niks my fingers are crossed tight for you! Your symptoms sound so promising. And don't be so mean to yourself(!), even in a half jokey way. You want this and it's a wonderful thing to hope, it shows you care. Love yourself for caring, don't call yourself stupid!!

Tree similar diet to Skipper with possibly one or two extras bc I don't digest most dairy/gluten well. So diet-wise a protein-heavy rather than carb-heavy diet, no added sugars /artificial sweeteners/ additives / processed foods / alcohol / gluten / only live organic yoghurt as dairy / only odd green tea as caffeine. Supplement/extras-wise I've been having a protein shake each morning (natural stevia sweetened whey isolate) & add 1tsp inositol [great for insulin issues that studies show may be a leading factor in pcos]; 1tsp maca root powder [studies show boosts circulation & good for pcos]; 1tbsp freshly ground flaxseed [again been shown to help with pcos - stopped this one after ov]; and I throw a fistful of organic leafy greens in there. Also take Pregnacare conception; a good quality fish oil; calcium supp; high dose vit d3 supp; a herbal tincture prescription that includes agnus castus (stopped after ov); tribulus tincture days 5-14 of cycle [studies have shown it can reduce ovarian cysts and boost chances of ov in up to 2/3 of pcos women]; also evening primrose oil 3 times a day from cd1 - cd14 to increase ewcm. Also been doingm yoga most days in my living room as well as going for a 30 min - 1hr walk with DH on our lunch break & daily fertility self-massage with geranium or clary sage oil (stopped after ov). Adding a high dose vit B6 for the luteal phase.
Don't think I've left anything out, apologies for the essay!!

Fingers crossed for all those waiting to test!!

sk1pper · 16/08/2016 10:06

Dani - wow, your list is incredible. Ive been having a look through, I'm going to try that primrose oil - I have heard of it but didn't realise it's ewcm benefits! May even try and get some during my lunch break today. Btw - what is fish oil good for?

I'm on pregnacare conception too, I've heard they make some people really sick but after a year on them I feel pretty good. Can't remember the last time I had a cold or anything.

danigrace · 16/08/2016 19:48

Skipper I read fish oil can help reduce inflammation that can hinder getting and staying pg, promotes ov, & increases blood flow to the reproductive organs which is all kinds of good. With the evening primrose I take one 1000mg capsule 3 times a day (one each with breakfast, dinner, & tea) from CD1 to CD14.

sk1pper · 16/08/2016 20:29

Thanks, I got the primrose tablets at lunch so gonna give them a try. Nearly gagged from the smell when I opened them though lol

ginandcake · 16/08/2016 20:32

You're amazing Dani, I really hope it all pays off for you. And you too sk1pper. Have you made a new appointment with the GP?

danigrace · 16/08/2016 20:37

lol Skipper! Have them before your food so it's buried underneath instead of sat on top. They're not bad at all (well not compared to a lot of other stuff! lol)

Thanks Gin, it's bloody hard (less so as time goes on and it's becoming the norm) but it seems to be starting to pay off. And I can't not try everything possible bc I really want this!

sk1pper · 16/08/2016 20:56

Gin - my OH needs to call the doctors to get enrolled because he hasn't been in 5 years. And he's taking his sweeeeet time despite reminders from me each day. He's so laid back about the whole thing. Then we can book a joint appointment and get things rolling.

Dani - it's going to make it all the more sweeter when you get your BFP. Also, the health regime you've kept to will give your baby the best start anyway so it's win win.

Niks2026 · 16/08/2016 21:25

Dani and skipper...what total stars you are. Definitely put me to shame! Your both so strong and doing amazing with the fantastic changes. That BFP will make every little
Sacrifice worth it. You must feel great and extremely proud.

Thanks for the positive comments Dani. I've been told I'm too hard on myself. Only 4/5 days to wait to test now. Not really sure how I'm feeling as the days go by. I'm excited to test but I know my heart will sink if it's bfn.

sk1pper · 16/08/2016 22:01

Niks - thank you that made me smile. Though Dani has had to put much more work in than I have to get where she is. This is why joining this forum was the best thing I could have done, to read so many inspiring stories and get so much support - it has been invaluable really. And niks you can't let BFNs get you down, you'll get your BFP soon - mother narture is just biding her time to make sure we all get our perfect babies :D

danigrace · 16/08/2016 22:19

You're all awesome. The support and knowing others are going through the same thing makes a big difference.

Skipper that's why I decided to just totally go for it - I thought the best is that my cycle/ov comes back (which it has fist pump, BFP would be nice too lol) & worst that can happen is I'll be much healthier.
Also - my OH was hopeless like that too, the docs gave me the reg. form and I filled it all in and just got him to sign it & made sure he dropped it off on his way out the next morn. Could you do something similar?

Niks so is it Sat morning you're aiming for??

Lulu298 · 16/08/2016 22:36

That is so impressive dani - I love your philosophy. It's so inspiring!

Where did you find all this info out about things good for PCOS?

Sending BFP vibes out to all fellow August bus passengers! Smile

danigrace · 17/08/2016 09:46

Lulu I've studied both Biochemistry & Herbal Medicine in the past so already had a basic understanding (even though I'm a genealogist by trade now though lol). Mostly I just read around a LOT for suggestions (from medical websites to mumsnet), made notes of all the things I could find, then researched each thing individually to whittle them all down to the things that had been proven to work best and a mix that covered good all round relevent aspects. Then made sure nothing on my final draft list had any contraindications with each other. Can you tell I'm a scientists daughter and a bit mental? Lol. This is just something I want really bad so I know I won't be happy with myself if it doesn't work out & I can't put my hand on my heart & say I tried every little thing I could.

How is everyone? Anyone testing this week? I'm only 5dpo so in it for the longhaul yet!!

danigrace · 17/08/2016 10:12

TMI alert: okay so I just wiped and got a tissue of blood, what the hell does that mean??? Only 5dpo so maybe my cycle has gone the opposite kind of whacko. Will put a pad in so I can monitor it...

lousylear · 17/08/2016 10:13

I'm cd 23. I'm testing soon! Patience of a gnat this time. Always waited til AF late with previous 5 pg ( mc, DD, DD, mc, DS). have ordered some cheap earlys from eBay. Should be here tomorrow. FX for a bfp. Definitely feel pg, although could be AF I guess.
