I have been on femodette for 4 years. Before that I was on it for 4 years but stopped for two years in between. During that two year gap it took me a year until I had a period. Myself and husband are wanting to start trying for a baby next year but I don't know whether to come off the pill now to get it out of my system or wait until we are properly ready.

I would really appreciate hearing other people's stories of how long it took them to conceive after coming off the combined pill. Thanks!

Fertility is very subjective and different for everyone there really is no guidelines I was off the pill for 2 years before conceiving and had been on it for 5 yeas before
Best friend was on it for 15 years a d got pregnant first month.
I was early 20s she was 30

Was on it for 15 years, took about 2 - 3 months!

After 18 years it took three months of not trying (think we dtd once) and I got pregnant. Subsequently had a mmc and it then took another three months of loads of dtd.

I was on it 18 years, had a month off while DH was away then got pregnant first cycle he was home - I'm 35. I have to admit that it threw me a bit, we agreed and planned to start trying but were expecting to have at least a few months of the fun bit (my sex drive rocketed when off the pill Blush ) and getting our heads round it first!
I'd suggest coming off it and just using other non-hormonal protection if you want to give your body a chance to settle down but not risk it.

It really is very individual. I was on the pill for ten years, it took a little over three and a half years (including countless tests, surgery, hormone therapy, and IVF) to conceive DD1. However when she was a year old we conceived DD2 naturally so anything can happen...

I was on the pill for 7 years and I'm now in month 8 of ttc baby #1

I would definitely recommend coming off the pill now! Get to know your cycle and let everything return to normal. You can use condoms and avoid the fertile week until you are ready to ttc 🙂

On pill for 7 years with a 4 month break in between. Currently on cycle 14 of ttc plus 2 cycles of not preventing.

13 months and counting. I've been off and on over 10 years don't know what's going on with me. These things just take time x

MmmMalbec · 29/06/2016 17:04

Took 6 months for me. Lots of messed up cycles too. I'd say come off now and let your body settle down!
