dh and i were ttc for 6y before ds was born 20m ago. since then i have had 3 confirmed mcs and 2 unconfirmed. we are seeing a consultant on the 1st feb but yesterday i got a v clear bfp today did another and got a bfn, this happened with all of my pgs inc ds. i feel v sick and my boobs are huge, veiny and dark. ive also had migraines for about a week. please help what does the changing result mean? are my symptoms good or bad signs? im so scared im going to mc again (all were between 6-9w)please help.

It's strange that you got a BFP then a BFN but I would be inclined to trust the BFP. Were they different brands? The symptoms you describe sound like a good sign, did you have them with DS?

Pregnancy after miscarriage is very frightening, but all you can do is go with it and try to relax. Get an early scan-with your miscarraiges did you ever get to see a heartbeat?

lissielou · 22/01/2007 08:18

no, my gp has said that as soon as i hit the 6w mark he will get me in for a scan, the tests were different. the bfp was a predictor and the bfn was a clear blue. scared that its happening again. coz i dont know how i will cope with yet another mc.

the bfp was strong when i was pg with ds the gp did 10 tests before we got a real answer.

Hi Lissielou. Ive had a MC before and in my experience the negative takes a long time to appear after the MC is over. Its common to get BFN and for that result to be incorrect but BFN is the one you should trust. As hard as it is you need to relax because stress is really bad for you. Try burning Lavender in your house to help you stay calm. Eat lots of fresh stuff to keep your hormones balanced aswell as Folic Acid and Vit B.
I wish you lots of luck and care. Keep us posted. x

jabberwocky · 22/01/2007 08:50

I think the previous poster meant to say trust the BFP as it's really unheard of to get a false positive. Also agree that in every case I have heard of the negative after MC shows up after quite a while with a lot of faint positives first. So it's probably just a false negative - had one of those myself once before.

Here's hoping everything goes well for you.

clothears · 22/01/2007 09:07

Sorry - I didnt explain myself very well. Trust the BFP. x

It was obvious what you meant ClothEars.

LissieLou... try to keep calm. You shouldn't be worrying, you need to rest up and just try to relax. How long til 6 weeks?? I would be inclined to only use the same brand of tests. Can't the gp/nurse do a test for you at the surgery?? Fingers crossed. All the best.

A BFP for you Lissi this is wonderful.
I bet you are so completely thrilled. Lots and lots of rest and NO stressing til 6 weeks is gone. Please keep us posted.
Congratulations x

fettle · 22/01/2007 19:53

Congratulations Lissie!! Great news!! How many weeks are you now?

My AF still not here, but not going to test again until the weekend, if no AF before then.

I'm trying to wrap myself in cotton wool too, but also trying not to think about it too much, as I can't quite believe it after my early mc last cycle and it taking so long to conceive prior to my 1st mc at the beginning of last year.

Look after yourself! And as lots of others have said, try to relax, although I know how difficult that will be.

take care
x

ShowOfHands · 22/01/2007 20:00

Wonderful, wonderful news.

Take care lissie, very happy for you and keeping everything crossed.

oooggs · 22/01/2007 20:02

Take care and do nothing (well as little as realistically possible with a ds!!)

Good Luck x

Catbabymummy · 24/01/2007 11:22

Just heard your wonderful news Lissielou and had to drop in and say congrats!

Praying very hard for you and your little bean to stay healthy and strong

rubles · 24/01/2007 12:16

Oh Lissielou big congratulations to you! I have no advice on making it stick, but what I have taken to doing is only wearing black knickers, and when possible turning the light off to go to the loo!! A bit insane, but then I am feeling that way at the moment.
