Oh me too Sunshine, I'd so love to conceive naturally and I haven't quite given up all hope! Our clinic massively talked us out of putting 2 back last time but I can't help thinking that if they put 2 back then I'd still be pregnant now. I've had a follow up and they agreed to put 2 back next time. They'll thaw the worst quality one and go from there so if successful with the 2 lesser quality ones they'll leave the best quality for another time but I think it's highly unlikely that both our poor quality blastocysts will survive. I'm a twin and would love twins! I'm not entirely sure how many scans I'll need, I think one around day 5 to check everything looks ok and then just before ovulation to track follicles to get the timing of the transfer right. I'm so glad you're feeling more positive Sunshine and you have a plan for early in the new year too. I have a good feeling that 2017 will be our year, it has to be!! xx

mascaraisamust · 28/12/2016 19:07

Sounds exciting ladies, I never even knew that all these options existed! I really hope this all works out. Looks like you've got lots of things to think about! Friendly I'm so annoyed the NHS have been so unsupportive with you.

We had a lovely Christmas thank you, he is nearly 6 months. I think my LP is worse now, my cycle seems shorter anyway! I think about the next time we TTC and often think when do I should I start again and wonder if we will have the same issues. I'm also looking at my cyclogest expiry date Blush I know I've been blessed with this little man for now though!

sunshinegirl12 · 18/01/2017 17:31

Friendly, just wanted to pop on here quickly and see how you got on with the frozen transfer? Keep meaning to come on here, have been thinking of you and hoping all is going well xx

Friendlycav · 18/01/2017 17:55

Thanks for your message Sunshine, I've been thinking about you too. How are things going your end? Are you all set for your next cycle? Have you started the meds and are you doing anything different this time?

It was a bit touch and go if I could have the frozen embryo transfer this cycle as my lining was thin on day 8 but they prescribed vagifem (what a horrible name!) pessaries which is estrodiol and helps with lining. Thankfully a few days of that made all the difference and I had the transfer last Monday! For the fresh cycle, we were lucky in that we got 4 blastocysts from 6 eggs. We froze 3 and were warned that 2 were low quality and probably wouldn't survive the freeze/thaw process (the embryologists nearly only froze 2 as 1 in particular was low quality but the consultant said we may as well include it while freezing the others). We decided to transfer 2 if we could, thawing the low quality embryos first so we don't waste money or time/effort on doing another frozen cycle in the future with a single low quality embryo that might not make it. Anyway... I'm very pleased that both low quality embryos survived against the odds and they're now inside me! It's so nerve racking and the longest 2ww in history! Even if I get a BFP I'll be terrified and paranoid about having a miscarriage again but mind over matter and I just have to stay positive.

I'm wishing you all the luck in the world Sunshine xx

Mascara, I have loads and loads of cyclogest if you ever need it! xx

sunshinegirl12 · 18/01/2017 18:08

Thats brilliant news Friendly, when is your test date? Really really hoping it works out for you. Have you taken the 2ww off work again?

I've had all my meds delivered so am ready to start when next af arrives, am slightly worried that we may end up delaying due to cysts again as I've had a bit of random pain and bleeding Confused This time we have increased the dose of gonal f, also adding in menopur and then progesterone injections during the 2ww rather than cyclogest. Hopefully this time I won't ovulate before egg collection Hmm I'm more scared this time, mainly about the egg collection process, though I'm not sure why as I thought it'd be easier knowing what to expect. xx

mascaraisamust · 18/01/2017 18:23

Ladies so much has happened! Friendly, I have everything crossed for you. That's so strange to think they are now inside you. When do you test?

Sunshine, in hoping you have the green light and the cysts aren't back.

Hoping for positive news too.

Friendlycav · 18/01/2017 18:50

Thanks ladies, I'll test weekend after next. I took yesterday off sick and trying to take it easy at work this week without getting sacked! DH and I have next week off work, we had thought of going abroad but in the end decided not to risk flying so we're staying in the UK. Are you able to take some time off Sunshine? It's so difficult juggling things with work. I'm keeping everything crossed that the cysts don't come back and everything goes smoothly for you. There are so many hurdles to get past but hopefully it helps in that you know what to expect this time. I hope they will monitor you closely so you don't ovulate early. Please keep us updated, I'll be thinking of you xx

mascaraisamust · 18/01/2017 19:04

Yeah just take it easy Friendly. Get snuggled on that sofa with some box sets and popcorn and keep those ovaries nice and warm lol. X

sunshinegirl12 · 18/01/2017 19:29

Our plan for next time is pretty similar to yours... I'm planning to take egg collection off sick and then use a days holiday for transfer, then like you will probably be a few days back in work before we both have the following week off to go away for a week somewhere in england where we can just go for nice strolls and snuggle by the fire. Thats if we get that far. Its just so hard to plan it all with the timing.

Last time I was having scans every 3 days and the growth started slow, so they were pretty shocked at the last scan at how big the eggs had got so quickly, but they think it was due to my increased protein intake.

Are you planning to go away next week? Hopefully being off work will help the time pass more quickly for you, really hoping it all works out for you xx

Friendlycav · 18/01/2017 21:14

Thanks so much, you are such lovely ladies. Yes DH and I have booked a mini break to Oxford and the Cotswolds so planning lots of nice strolls and cosy evenings by the fire. Agree it's really difficult to time things but think it's really important to take some time out to give things the best possible chance of working. I really hope things work out timing wise for you Sunshine. I was told however that there is nothing I could do 'wrong' to stop things working if it's meant to be so I'm trying to be normal - although I've asked DH to fetch me a few extra ginger teas and run me some foot baths :)

sunshinegirl12 · 19/01/2017 17:48

Good to hear you are making the most of being looked after. You're week away sounds perfect, we love the Cotswolds. Have you told many people about the transfer? We still haven't told anyone except DH is pretty open with the guys at his work about it to justify his time off, its surprising how many of them have also told him about their fertility issues with their wives xx

Friendlycav · 19/01/2017 18:16

I've never been to the Cotswolds so really looking forward to it! I haven't told many people at all this time. I was much more open last time and I know people meant well, but I found the constant asking for updates a bit much and it was horrible having to tell everyone about the miscarriage. Luckily my work place is very relaxed and my boss sits on another floor(!) so I've been able to sneak out for appointments without anyone noticing! When is AF due for you? I'm excited for you to get going xx

sunshinegirl12 · 19/01/2017 19:07

I've had light bleeding the last few days so could be anytime, hopefully it'll hold off a few more days as over the weekend isn't ideal for booking in the baseline scan. Are you taking any supplements during the 2ww or just the pre-natal? Xx

Friendlycav · 19/01/2017 19:29

Fingers crossed AF holds off a few more days. I'm taking: fertility multi vitamins, Ubiquinol Q10, DHA, folate and vitamin D xx

sunshinegirl12 · 27/01/2017 19:07

Have you tested yet Friendly? Hope you've had a lovely break away x

Friendlycav · 28/01/2017 12:29

I tested his morning and got a BFP!!!! I feel so relieved and happy but obviously very cautious after what happened last time. I've just got to try and be as healthy as I can and keep everything crossed that things work out. It was lovely to get away last week and forget about things.

How are you Sunshine? Have you started your next round of IVF? xx

sunshinegirl12 · 28/01/2017 12:51

Congratulations!! So happy for you Friendly and really hope it all works out for you this time.

We couldn't start again because of a cyst, I was expecting it but its still a big disappointment, so now I've been put on the pill to hopefully get rid of it. To be honest I've had enough of it all and I'm not sure that I wouldn't just give up and move on with my life if we hadn't already paid for another 2 cycles. I just don't think it's meant to be. xx

Friendlycav · 28/01/2017 14:46

I'm not surprised you're fed up with it all Sunshine! That's such bad luck that you've got another cyst, it must be so so frustrating to gear yourself up to start a new cycle only to be told you've got to go on the pill. I hope the pill gets rid of the cyst and you can start again soon, all the waiting is so tiresome. Wishing you loads of luck and hope to get another update from you soon xx

mascaraisamust · 30/01/2017 12:52

Friendly, excellent news. I'm soooo happy for you. Please keep us updated.

Sunshine don't give up. It's so unfortunate you've got another cyst but I guess keep faith that they are experts and hopefully after its gone you will be able to start. It's a long journey but it will be all the more special when you get that bfp. Stay strong lady. Xx

Friendlycav · 20/02/2017 20:15

Hi Sunshine, how are you getting on?

Well an update from me.. I went for my early 7.5 week scan last weekend and they found an empty gestational sac (blighted ovum) so I'm now waiting for the inevitable miscarriage. I just can't believe it's happened again and it feels like more than bad luck. Urgh I'm so fed up and feel very bitter at the unfairness of it all. I'll dust myself off soon but feel I need to wallow in self pity for a few more days! xx

sunshinegirl12 · 20/02/2017 20:56

I am so so sorry to hear this Friendly, I have been thinking of you often and hoping that all was well. I can't believe the unfairness of this all, you have every right to wallow. Make sure you take good care of yourself xxx

Friendlycav · 20/02/2017 22:22

Thanks Sunshine. It really does feel desperately unfair. Are you ok? xx

sunshinegirl12 · 21/02/2017 19:45

Really hope you are ok Friendly. Flowers

Tbh I haven't been that great, I'm not sure if it's my body adjusting to being back on the pill or just the fact that there is currently no chance of even conceiving naturally, but I've just been so down to the point where I can't seem to pull myself together. I have just started reading 'is your mind fertility friendly' which I'm hoping will give me some tips on staying calm and also tried meditating a couple of times, although I'm not really sure about it, I just know I need to get some positivity back. I'm waiting for my period to start before I can go back for another scan to check on the cyst but even that is messing me around by being late!! I'm sorry to moan esp as you are having such a horrible time xxx

Friendlycav · 22/02/2017 16:45

I'm so sorry to hear you're not doing great either :( I had to take the day off work today to get my head together and work out a plan for moving forward. I can't help but think egg quality is an issue for me so I'm going to do all I can to work on that during the next few months. I think it is a very good idea to focus on positivity and meditation. I've looked into getting some Zita West CDs on positive visualisation. I've just started reading a book called 'Is your body baby friendly?'. I still think there could be another problem and the section on immunology and natural killer cells makes a lot of sense. I'm thinking about going to see a fertility consultant specialising in immunology to get further tests but maybe I'm jumping the gun and not sure how much more money I can throw at all this. I hope you're feeling better today Sunshine and I really hope you have a scan soon and the cyst has disappeared xx

sunshinegirl12 · 22/02/2017 17:47

Have you read 'it starts with the egg,' which is about egg quality? Also you've probably already read about DHEA which is meant to help (although I haven't tried.)

I rang my clinic today to book in for a baseline scan to check how the cyst is, and hopefully start the IVF. But apparently now they are no longer open on Thursdays at all or doing any evening appointments, which was half the reason for choosing them over the other nearest clinic. Had a huge rant at them and then got DH to ring and formally complain - its just going to make it all so much harder now with time off work and people gossiping esp as the clinic is about 40 mins away.

I've got one of the Zita West positive visualisation CD's, it was on Ebay for a couple of pounds so might be worth a look on there xxx
