Hi all had my Mirena coil in for 5 years and found when I went for removal at my GP it was embedded. Have had a lot of pain, bleeding and collapsed on Friday. Been is hospital since and had it removed via D&C today under general. Consultant had advised we wait 1 cycle and then start TTC #3. AF should be due 11/07/16 but no idea if removal will upset my cycle. Anyone else hoping to start trying next month? Anyone successfully conceived following Mirena removal? Xx

Hello,

Just come across this post but no replies.. Just wondering how you got on? I had my mirena taken out last Thursday at the hospital, though not under GA. It hadn't embedded itself, just the strings had been swept up inside my uterus so GP couldn't retrieve it!! Had slight bleeding 2 days later and then yesterday morning thought AF had started as I bled all day, except that the bleeding stopped last night and nothing since. Don't know whether it was v light period or whether its going to start up again today/tomorrow!
Hope you got good results! x

Hi Critic. I conceived within a few weeks of mirena removal, didn't even have an AF! give yourself a cycle to heal and then away you go. All the best! X
