Hiya, hoping someone can help me,I have been googling but still confused. Not even sure this is the right place to post as me and oh decided to wait s year before ttc.

My period was about a week late and I was getting all the usual symptoms in the build up to it- hormonal, bloated, sore swollen boobs etc. It eventually came on Saturday and was bright red and pretty heavy. The bloating and sore boobs seemed to go away as they do once it starts. Come Monday my period was totally gone-my period usually lasts the majority of the week. Last night when wiping there was a little bit of dark brown and the same this morning.

I'm just wondering if it's OK to occasionally have a short period? I've had a bad cold the past few days, not sure if that would have an effect. I'm posting here because everytime I googled short period or two day period it mentioned pregnancy, which really scared me

Hope someone can help, sorry for the ramble!

Is there a chance you could be pregnant? Might be worth testing!
Other reasons for a change to your period could include an anovulatory cycle, which would explain why your period was late. It's quite common for a woman to have the anovulatory cycle in their lifetime.

I don't think so magpie-not completely out of the question that I would be pregnant but it's unlikely.its weird because last night it sort of came back again and was dark red blood but now this morning it is dark brown when wiping only (sorry for tmi!)

I'm just a bit unsettled because I know my periods well and this is very out of sorts for me

If you're concerned then have a chat with your doctor. It's worth getting checked out if it's something out of the ordinary for you and it's causing to to worry.
