Nervous about implant coming out

Hi All,

I am booked in to have my implant removed next week. We are going to TTC virtually as soon as it comes out! I don't know much about cycles and everything, just winging it pretty much! DTD as much as possible and hope for the best!

Can I just ask though, what is it like having it removed? Does it hurt?
I'm the biggest wimp ever!

I had one before I had the coil and they just numbed the skin, nicked the skin at the end of it (about where the scar from it going in was) and then pushed it out. Couple of seconds and a bit of a dressing and all done- less painful than a blood test!! Good luck!!

Its been in for around 16 months, and has made me so poorly, cant wait to be rid of the thing!

I had mine out at the end of last year to TTC. It was fine. It took less time to remove it than it did to put in. At worst it's the anaesthetic injection which stings a bit. For me that was the worst bit. Over very quickly though and a lovely bandage on. The little site where the implant comes out of healed nice and quickly, although it got a bit itchy. You'll be fine.

Doesn't hurt at all. I laughed with the doctor all of the way through. It's as sore as a tiny cut to your arm would be after and I had a bit of a bruise. I have a tiny scar but that's it. I didn't ovulate in my first cycle after it was removed but fell pregnant the following month (sadly miscarried but I'm certain that had nothing to do with the implant). Good luck!

Had mind out a couple of years ago. It didn't hurt one bit. You'll be fine.
