caseopia I'm so sorry. I hope you get your results quickly and they give you the answers you need x

Teakind · 23/06/2016 20:48

Hi Caseo, i'm so sorry to hear of your loss. We've had the DNA fragmentation test and it came back really high which was a shock as all other tests for DH have been great. We've been to see a urologist who has prescribed some antibiotics and we are just waiting for the results to see if they have worked. It's an expensive test but definitely worth looking in to my view especially if it works!

Congratulations Snoopy! I haven't been on this board in a while so it's lovely to see some happy endings : )

karryk · 24/06/2016 07:02

Sorry casiopeia SadFlowers Wishing you lots of strength and love xx

I took the test this morning.....There's a faint positive Shock it all feels a bit surreal. All I've managed to decide is that I'm going to stop temping - I don't want the added paranoia Blush I'll call the clinic later and start next steps. Holy smokes Blush xx

Tumtimes1 · 24/06/2016 12:04

OMG OMG! Karryk this is wicked! YAY xx

karryk · 24/06/2016 13:07

Thank you tumtimes Smile still feels a bit unreal....the dark brown spotting stopped and I've got very light orangey-pinky stuff now Confused trying to think positive, sticky-bean thoughts!

Seekingmiracles · 24/06/2016 14:52

Wonderful news Karry!! Tentative congratulations. I know it is a scary time but be positive! Stay sticky little bean!

Caseopia: so sorry to hear that the scan was not good news. maybe the chromosome tests will give some answers. Wishing you lots of support through the difficult early days post miscarriage. It's so hard and unfair x xx

Billy: how are you doing ?

Karryk:
That's amazing news, you got Positive! Yippee. You must be feeling all sorts.

Tea kind: hope you get your genetic follow up so you can get the info you need.

Marmiteontoast76 · 26/06/2016 21:21

Hello All,

We met with the very lovely Mr S to get our results from a full immune test. I have high thygloblin antibodies, high peroxidase thyroid antibodies and high NK cells. He thinks these caused my two late losses.

He's given us a plan, however we've decided to take a bit of time to digest what he's planned for us before we launch into the treatment. So we decided not to purchase the drugs at the appointment.

He's decided not to put me on the steroids, mainly due to me having anxiety and depression. So it would be the anti-malaria pill to be started 8 weeks before conception and continued until 34 weeks. There would also be intrilipid egg and soya drip every 4 or so weeks, plus the usual vitamins, folic acid and asprin.

This anti-malari drug treatment seems to be a new thing. Would like to hear if anyone else is on it, or of any success stories. We are nervous about starting a plan which isn't backed up by much scientific evidence of success. I read an article in which he said he's only used this drug on 15 or so women!

Marmiteontoast76 · 26/06/2016 21:23

The drug is called hydroxychloroquine.

sunnyday01 · 27/06/2016 11:20

Hi marmite

I just popped in to the forum for a quick update on how others were progressing and saw your post so that I would respond.

I saw Dr s 2 years ago and was diagnosed with high NK cells and given the treatment plan of steroids and intralipids. Sadly I had a mc i. The treatment early on. After that mc Dr s said to add hydroxy in to the mix. For various reasons I decided to stop taking the steroids whilst trying but kept on the hydroxy as you need to be in it for a while for it to take effect. Next month I got pregnant and I went in to have a little boy in January this year. Once I found out I was oregnsnt the steroids and I tralipids were added back to my treatment plan. I'll never know what made the dufference but think the hydrixy definitely contributed to having my little boy. I was lucky and had no side effects from the hydroxy, I know some people find it makes their hair fall out but I didn't get this at all.

Dr s has had lots of success - if you read back over previous threads spanning the last 4/5 years you will see many babies have been born as a result of treatment.

sunnyday01 · 27/06/2016 11:21

I think he's up to nearly 50 or so people on hydroxy now :) he actually first used it on an nhs patient!

karryk · 27/06/2016 12:51

Thanks Seeking and see :)

Hello to everyone else too x

Having my first session of intralipids today....hope she can find a decent vein...mine like to hide Blush

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 27/06/2016 18:46

Tentative congratulations karryk and good luck with the intralipids, take a good book or a few magazines!

karryk · 27/06/2016 21:14

Thanks Snoopy x

We ended up having to use a vein in the side of my hand...ouch Sad

At least it's done! Thought I was going to be sick afterwards but thankfully the feeling passed after five minutes or so.

First scan on the 18th. Will be on tenterhooks until then!

Have a lovely evening all x

Marmiteontoast76 · 27/06/2016 21:14

Hope today went ok karryk. How long did it take?

Thanks for that info Sunnyday, so happy to hear you had your little boy.

Marmiteontoast76 · 27/06/2016 21:16

Karryk we posted at the same time. Ouch to the needle in the hand! That hurts like hell, poor thing.

karryk · 30/06/2016 12:01

Hello Marmite :)

I was there for about an hour and a half...maybe just slightly over due to faffing about with the iv!

I did a repeat pregnancy test today just to double check (af should have arrived yesterday) and got a nice line so wahey for that.

Not really enjoying the cyclogest and the havoc it's wreaking on my undies! The stuff seems to leak through liners as well Confused I'm living in dark trousers at the moment!

bubaki76 · 30/06/2016 12:56

well done karryk, this is all very good news.
On the progesterone issues, after ruining all of my underwear with it during the last pg, I have now progressed with using the erm rear door as opposed to the front. It does give you a bit of gas (some ladies on the FB forum call them bum bullets for this reason) but it's much neater and not at all messy as a result
x

bubaki76 · 30/06/2016 12:57

(oh and btw I changed my MN name - I am formerly known as annaif!)

Drttc · 30/06/2016 19:11

Hi ladies,

Thought I'd drop in and say hello! Been really busy trying to wrap things up at work (finish July 11th!), seeing family, and getting things ready at the house (ahhhh!). Had a bit if a wobble this week as suddenly baby measured a few days behind on fundal height after consistently measuring ahead. Went in for a growth scan and everything is looking good (nice blood flow, good amniotic fluid) with him measuring at the 50th percentile and approximately 4lbs 12 ounces (at 33 weeks+2 days)... Was given the all clear but feeling so anxious about his growth now :( Worried I've done something wrong and that's he's in danger inside my rubbish womb!

Congrats Karryk! Good luck during this tough trimester!! I agree with the bum bullet method btw ;)

Also- I'm one of the hydroxy girls! Was on it 2x a day for 6 months before my successful BFP. It really helped me!

Snoopy- sending you and LO a hug!

Seeking- how's the bump looking nowadays? :) I'm large and in charge and not appreciating the comments!

Always thinking of all you ladies - big wave! Xx

Seekingmiracles · 30/06/2016 19:45

Glad all is going well Karry One day at a time.. Stay strong. Ditto what bubaki said - try up the bum. Much less messy. Hope you're ok bubaki

Hi Drttc, wow, you're so close!! That seems like a good weight for your dates, I'm sure he'll be absolutely fine in your non-rubbish womb! You're womb is doing great! And I was a teeny 3lb12 born at 34 weeks and I'm just fine..! If there was a problem they'd get him out and he'd be perfect.

I'm still quite small, which I won't complain about. Have another scan at 28 weeks so looking forward to that. Movement still has no real pattern which worries me at times. Not sure when a pattern becomes more obvious... Hmm
Still haven't brought anything substantial and DH is sooo blasé about it all! I think he thinks we could just pop in the day before and grab it all! Idiot! Wink

karryk · 30/06/2016 22:37

I'll give the bum bullet a try... That description made me laugh so much Grin

Thank you for all of your supportive words - keeping fingers and toes crossed. I'm sure I'll be a bag of nerves before my scan but for now I feel quite calm...Shall make the most of it! :)

Xx

Drttc · 01/07/2016 05:25

Thanks for the reassurance Seeking! You'll likely really start popping soon. I'm not sure of I'm oblivious or not (probably) but I've not really noticed any pattern. Just that a few times a day he's very active... Lol! Generally he's quite wriggly to maybe that's why. I have downloaded a count the kicks app to monitor every once in a while though- might want to try that? It actually stores the info so you can compare sessions. Why are you having a 28 week scan? Oh my god there's SO MUCH STUFF!!! Like I 'knew' there was a lot but for every item you know there's 10 accessories. Breast pump? Don't forget the milk storage bags, pump sterilizing products, pump wipes, bottle warmer, milk savers (collect leaking milk from your boobs), nursing bras, bottles, teats (different kinds), bottle brush, Lansinoh nursing pads & cream... And then you have to decide which bloody brand you want?! Definitely make a list if you haven't already because it's too much to remember. Then show him the list to scare him haha x

Seekingmiracles · 01/07/2016 07:33

You'll be absolutely fine DrttcSmile
They're scanning me at 28 and 36 weeks, I think because of my prothrombin gene mutation - the consultant was pretty clueless on it - openly admitted she didn't know much so the scan is maybe to do with that. Not complaining though!
I know .... There sooo much! My friend has kindly at least given me her pump but I need to buy new tubes for it and then like you say storage bags etc... It's a mine field!

So positive and affirming seeking and Drttc to hear about people at the end of pregnancies after going through the RM journey. I find that very hopeful.
Kartyk- that's great news that it's getting stronger and had first intralipid treatment. No probs up bum here Smile
