TTC & bladder infections- can anyone help!?

I am quite new to MN and I wondered if anyone else has experience of this.
DH and I have been FTC for nearly a year and I keep getting a bladder infection - been on antibiotics twice. Of course doc says it is just beacuse we are obviously BDing frequently but it never happened when we were not TTC/ on the pill! even when we were in the honeymoon period and seemed to be in bed all the time!
Doc advised to go straight to the the loo after BD (so forget legs in the air for us!) but again never really did this before unless needed to! (sorry TMI).
I have read that it could be a hormonal thing, too much oestrogen I think, when I mentioned this to the doc he just dismissed it and ignored the fact that 2 of the infections started on exactely the same day of my cycle - just coincidence he said - So not much help - does anyone have any advise?
It is so frustrating as I am on CD9 and we had just begun concerted BD effort for the month.

Sorry Seaside, no specific experience of infections when TTC, I just get them constantly, no matter what I am doing!

I haven't pushed anything with GP for futher investigation as we are TTC too.

I do all the usual stuff, cranberry potassium cytrate (sp) making sure I empty my bladder fully and it still seems pretty random that I get them. So, I'll be watching this thread too, see if anyone has any better ideas...

I'm afraid I have no experience of this so can't help but wondered if using a sperm friendly lubricant like pre-seed might help as then the heat wouldn't be so intense? I'm probably talking nonsense so just ignore me if I am. Have to say, I have always gone for a pee straight after sex and I am finding it very weird trying not to do so now that we are TTC, sometimes the urge gets too much and there is no way I can just lie there for 20 mins! Hope someone has some advice for you that really helps and good luck TTC.
