frazzle you are a help to this thread and it's not a case of whether your a help or not!! It's the fact of we are all in it together. We are here for a chat, support, moan and a cry!! You are not alone!! I'm sure he will change his mind.. it's maybe because he is not feeling well etc? Tell him you need to discuss it between the both of you and not just him deciding. Maybe give it time for you and hubby to get better??
Remember we are all here for you!!!

amy well I'm starting Monday if you want to do it together?

Frazzle I hope you get a resolution of sorts! Not much fun all the same. Flowers

Shell and Amy - good luck with the new cycles. How many cycles have you both done?

I've now been referred for an MRI scan to confirm my uterine septum - appointment with my consultant on 6th June but don't think I'll have had my MRI by then! Nothing else to report Smile

nicky883 · 20/05/2016 12:31

Hello ladies ,
Sorry to be hijacking your thread but i was wondering if you could shed some light . I dont know if i have pcos but i think i might . Here are the facts
In december 2014 i had a cyst and went to the hospital with pain they thought it was ectopic because of the size of it . It was not and my general experience with them was rubish so i went private . The gynecologist looked at the cyst it got smaller and he gave me inofolic to take. at this point he said nothing about me having pcos and he told me to book my next appoitment on cd14
I went after about a year (was not really taking the inofolic and was not ttcing at the time)
So on the 12th of june 2015 i had an ultrasound on cd14 of my cycle he could see 2 eggs and he asked me about twins in my family and i said no also he didnt mention any cyst so am assuming it was gone
At the end he again told me to take inofolic twice a day and asked me if i was trying to concieve i said not at the moment
From february this year we have been ttc now on cycle 5th with no luck ( been using opk etc so timing is good) .
I didnt know about pcos and havent thought about it at the time but now i am wondering if i have it ? I have regular 27 to 28 cycles and regular bmi i do have some hair in chest area though
From your experience does this sound like pcos ? I dont know why the gynecologist wouldnt have mention anything about it but give me inofolic .I hve an appoitment with him again in june and thibking of having a blood test on cd21 before going to see him
Sorry about the long message i hope you can give me some advice .

Nurse15 · 20/05/2016 12:53

Hi Nicky
Pcos is diagnosed using the Rotterdam scale, check it out on google as its too much for me to paste here. It's unlikely if you only had one cyst and are having regular periods it does not sound likely that pcos is your problem - however you should clarify this with your GP as he will have received your medical notes from the consultant review. Hope this helps

nicky883 · 20/05/2016 13:01

Thank you nurse15 the reason i thought it might be pcos ita because of the fact he told me to take inofolic googling it it seems to be about pcos

Nurse15 · 20/05/2016 14:28

You probably need to clarify this Nicky, Your GP should be able to check your notes for info etc :)

Shellbell0403 · 20/05/2016 21:49

Welcome aboard nicky you are more than welcome to join us.
Do you have any other symptoms?

Nurse this is cycle number 4 for me! I had the mri also, actually received the results quite quickly. They will give you an injection/tablet to stop all motion in your abdomen etc.

frazzle How you feeling today?

village How's things going?

Well today my scan actually went ok! I'm on day 10 and I already have a follicle at 1.6 and also my lining was 6.4!! So need to get dtd! Haha. Have step dd staying which doesn't help my situation 😂 pomegranate seems to have worked or that's what I'm telling myself!! Normally at day 10 it's hardly any size and hardly any lining. Trying not to get my hopes up and jump the gun!

Gosh frazzle that sounds like a huge shovel of shit to be dealing with. Hopefully it's the after effects of the mumps, maybe he is just drained? I hope he comes round soon and I hope you feel better soon x
Amy I'm trying to eat low gi. I have to be honest and say I usually struggle massively with my appetite. I hover at the very top end of healthy weight for my height, usually between 24.5-25.5. All round my waist and all hard to shift. I did sw for about 6 months. I lost 12 lbs altogether but I yo yo massively and I find I never feel full. Added to everyone else in the group getting 3-4 lb losses and me getting 0.5 and being asked what I was doing wrong I decided to save my money. I am still struggling with snacks at the end of the night but through the day I stick to mostly low gi and I do feel better for it. I've only been doing it a couple of weeks and there hasn't been any weight loss as such, but may well be due to the snacks...oops.
Shell that sounds like a great scan, fingers xd for you
OH -finally- had his SA on Tuesday!!! 4 months after the appointment that referred him. Jeez. Fully expecting him to need a retest because absolutely nothing so far has gone right! I'm also curious as to what they will give me. I'm thinking just met, but unless I am actually insulin resistant surely that won't make a difference? And you don't know without tests that I'm sure I haven't had. We've discussed saving for private but cannotfind anything about clomid on the websites of fertility clinics.
I am well into the swing of the new job now and I'm hoping the less stressful environment will help too. Still can't believe I haven't had a period yet. When we started ttc in april i was thinking I'd be pregnant for my friends 30th in nov 2015. Ha. Ha....im so impatient and this takes so long!

mysteriousbat · 21/05/2016 00:28

I should say I never spoke to my sw consultant about pcos. She was a bit ditzy and im a bit weird about sharing health stuff like that with people...I'm a health prude lol

AmyC86 · 21/05/2016 15:30

shell I'don't love to go it together, but I'm still waiting for AF or that BFP from my first round of clomid.

I'm cd27, no sight nor sound of AF, what has others done if she never shows up?

I've had 1 round of 50mg clomid. Now that a few have mentioned that they wouldn't give you any drugs etc until your BMI was under 30, I'm acctually thinking that they've given it to me so that I purposely fail. Has anyone else ever felt that your gynaecologist or GP purposely set you up to fail?

SusieBu16 · 21/05/2016 16:07

Sorry haven't been on for a little while. Been away with work.

Was just reading through and want to say I'm so sorry to hear the shit time you are having Frazze - I do hope things settle down in your life soon and maybe once hubby is over the worst he won't feel so negative about another child. Hang in there X

I was getting my hopes up too soon Shell definitely feel the asshole that is AF coming on. According to my tracker I'm due in 3 days and I fully expect her to come!! Feeling bloated and absolutely knackered.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend x

MegGriffin1 · 21/05/2016 21:15

Hello all. Finished my progesterone and am bleeding a lot! Feel crap. I'm starting clomid tomorrow. Meant to be going to 2 weddings next weekend only in the night but I'm wondering what you would do re drinking? I'm considering driving both nights but that usually rouses suspicion but then I don't want to drink on clomid as surely it will reduce its effectiveness?

Spotsondots · 21/05/2016 22:23

Hey all

Hope you're all having a good weekend. frazzle hang in there, you poor thing. I hope you are feeling better soon and once you and your partner are recovered you can have another conversation about TTC.

Good to hear about the positive scan shell. Fingers crossed for you!

Nothing much to report here. I'm still spotting Hmm no idea what that's about. Still trying to be healthy, though not done too well the past couple of days with diet as we've been staying at friends. I've stalled on my weight loss past three weeks but haven't gained so I'm taking that as a plus. Back on it properly Monday. Skin is greasy and crap. Stupid hormones!

Shellbell0403 · 22/05/2016 09:29

Happy Sunday everyone!

amy any joy? I'm sure no-one is hoping you fail! That's the last things they would want!

susie has af made her appearance? Means you can have a wee fresh start again and fx for this month!!

spots how you feeling? Everyone's allowed sometime off from being good 😉 plus staying with friends means treats!!

meg I'm sure if you drank some on one night it would be OK. Plus you only take clomid for 5 days so it will be finished by the time the weekend comes. I have a glass or wine of two every so often, still need to try and be normal and not tell myself I can't have it. Plus if get a bhp no alcohol for 9+months haha!

So I am going to start back my healthy eating/no chap tomorrow! Anyone fancy joining me and supporting each other on that aswell? Lol xx

SusieBu16 · 22/05/2016 16:34

Shell I will do it with you! I need to get a grip lol.
AF still not made appearance but due in next 2 days or so Hmm
Hope you've had a nice weekend x

Barsons83 · 22/05/2016 19:49

Shell I'm definitely up for some healthy eating after a week on holiday

Whilst we were away our appointments for sperm analysis and our consultation came through. Only issue is that the SA apt is after the consultation but needs to be before. Am hoping we can get an earlier SA apt as the consultation apt is for June which doesn't feel too bad. On day 137 of cycle so am really hoping that they can give me something to sort that.

Hope you've all had a good weekend Smile

Spotsondots · 22/05/2016 21:57

Sign me up to healthy eating club!

shell I'm ok - peaks and troughs. The past few days have been quite hard. I was baby bombed by three people at the tail end of last week with announcements and over the weekend have spent a lot of time with a very pregnant friend and a newly pregnant friend. Nice to see them but I still find other people's bumps hard to deal with. It all got a bit claustrophobic for a bit this afternoon so I am looking forward to some space this week. Working nights later in the week which means I get some time earlier in the week. Going to focus on doing some things just for me and on looking after myself. So good food, exercise and early nights. DH should be home most nights this week as well which hasn't happened for about two months because of his work. I have high hopes for next week!

How was everyone else's weekend?

AmyC86 · 22/05/2016 23:19

Tested this morning, BFN. No symptoms what so ever though.

Been reading more about PCOS, think it's finally hit me, broke down infront of DH this afternoon. He's so supportive, it's really great. So we've been and got weighed at boots and we're going to follow a low gi diet (DH doesn't need to loose weight but he's going to follow it with me anyway as support) we've set a target for 4 weeks till our next weigh in (don't want it to be like a strict diet weight loss plan, just more like a lifestyle choice) to loose 10% body fat. I need to loose about 3.5 - 4 stone x

Shellbell0403 · 23/05/2016 07:07

Morning ladies!

Today's the day for out healthy eating 😁 how do you want to do it ladies?

amy your not alone! We are all in it together!

spots jeeso! Hats off to you! I thought it was bad enough with me working in a large place with people announcing it all the time. Lots of you time would be fabulous! And keeping my fingers etc all crossed for you!

Got my next scan today! Really nervous about my lining etc!! Really want it to be above 7!

OP posts:
DrewOB1 · 23/05/2016 08:23

Morning all. I agree not to test unless I guess some symptoms, so no AF and pretty much bopping along.
I am feeling really down today and wondering what the point of it all is :(

Shellbell0403 · 23/05/2016 09:32

Sending hugs drew

I'm starting to wonder if PCOS is what happens to women who shouldn't be mothers in the first place

Spotsondots · 23/05/2016 10:22

So healthy eating wise I'm doing the following:

-Less sugar - trying to avoid all refined as far as possible.
-More protein
-Less dairy and wheat (but not none as I find this too hard to sustain). The wheat thing is peculiar to me - I have always suspected it upset my gut so a few weeks ago I ditched it and I felt so much better. Over the weekend I ate loads in the form of pizza and felt gripey and crap. Sad

Generally just trying to clean up my diet. Also using my fitness pal to keep a check on overall calorie intake.

So far today I've had an omelette made with three eggs, some mushrooms and half a green pepper with a tsp of butter in the pan. Some cherry tomatoes on the side, and a handful of blueberries. Friend is coming over in a bit so we will have a nice coffee (my caffeine for the day) and maybe one dark chocolate biscuit. Got veg roasting in the oven for lunch and having salmon for tea. I will try to do some HIIT type exercise after DS is in bed later.

Spotsondots · 23/05/2016 10:26

drew I just saw your post. SadFlowers I do know what you mean. I often feel like this is some way of punishing me for being a crap mum. We just try to remember that it isn't really true but those feelings really bring you down. Just wanted you to know you weren't alone in your thoughts. It's ok to feel sad but please try not to let those thoughts drag you down. It's a horrible enough business as it is. Sending you happier vibes and FlowersFlowers

mysteriousbat · 23/05/2016 13:23

Drew please don't feel like that. Although I do sometimes think it's a way of stopping me having another cos I must be crap. But that's not true. Otherwise all these addicts with 10 kids all in care wouldn't be able to breed. My friend's sister was told she was infertile and wouldn't conceive without ivf, split up with her partner and fell pregnant within 8 weeks with her new partner. She just fell pregnant again even though they were using contraception. Friend's were discussing the other day and were like it was obviously meant to be that she didnt have kids with her ex cos he turned out to be not so nice. I disagree. My ex who I did have a kid with turned out to be not so nice. My current partner is lovely and we are obviously struggling. What I'm trying to say in a verrryyy longwinded way is that it's just the way it is. Nothing to do with us as people or circumstances.
amy sounds good, definitelt think of it as a lifestyle change!! Less scary than a diet Grin good luck!
Spots sounds like you have a good plan worked out. Let us know how it goes
shell good luck for your scan, keep us updated and sending 7+ vibes your way.
