Glad you had a good break beedle - such a shame you missed our lovely heatwave this week though!

Whereabouts are you now imps? Is this your last holiday before B-B arrives?

Things are rumbling along here. I've told my DF our news, but I don't think he remembers. MrG's DS is being a royal PITA - he will only ever meet up with MrG if MrG foots the entire bill and gets him riproaring drunk, along with whatever mates MrG's DS chooses to bring along on the day. MrG's currently too ill to go anywhere so asked his DS over for a visit, explaining we have news to tell him. DS refused, since MrG was only willing to pay for DS's train ticket, not for DS to bring his girlfriend-of-the-day along with him. DS has no money, apparently, because he's busy saving to go to Poland to the wedding of someone he's never met. MrG is needless to say a bit upset. MrG's DD went nc after fleecing MrG (well, technically me) out of £450 so at best she'll get told by email, if indeed she still has the same email address.

Movements are still fe and far between, maybe Geekling has more room since the bump sprang out. I am in mat clothes only now - no hope of getting back into my old work clothes!

keepitgoing · 21/07/2016 13:10

My favourite comments of the last 24 hours: 'you look like you've swallowed a watermelon' and a small boy at kip's nursery, simply pointing and 'why is your tummy so fat'... Imagine if it was just fat!!

geek sorry to hear about mrG's children, that must be so sad for him, I hope he feels better soon too

Imps9 · 21/07/2016 13:15

Have found a pub with wifi so will catch up quickly while Mr Imps orders pudding.

Oh Geek DS sounds like a twat. Poor Mr Geek he doesn't deserve that sort of treatment. And DD sounds just as bad. Is Mr G any better or not? What's the latest treatment plan?

Got a week in France in Sept to look forward to after this holibobs. Had a lovely week so far. Did get a bit concerned about Barry-Baxter as he was quite quiet on Monday compared to usual so I lay on my side for 2 hours to count the kicks and counted 19. Although the info said that I should feel at least 10 in that time, I gave maternity assessment a call anyway cos the kicks were so gentle compared to normal. They were not concerned in the slightest - glad I called though as it put my mind at rest. And B-B is back to properly booting me now.

We have a pram! Well, actually we just have a carry cot at the moment (it was in the reduced to clear section at Kiddicare - £160 down to £100) but we have chosen a pram and will order it online tonight. Have gone for a Baby Jogger City Mini GT. Hopefully Barry-Baxter will be pleased with the choice.

Geek you seem to have married a very unlucky man, the poor old thing doesn't half get kicked in the teeth by life.

Lots of lovely shopping going on, does that mean you are all starting to believe that you are actually going to have babies soon? Wink

As for me, DD1 has finished nursery and is ready to start reception in September. DD2 is still a nightmare that climbs and pulls things out and basically doesn't stop apart from her nap. It has been 4 weeks since I started to learn to crochet and am making a blanket for my cousin who had a baby earlier this month. He turned up early and I was hoping for a bit longer being a first baby. What do you think?

We are jolly well going to get and stay diffed this month and we are BROOKING NO ARGUMENT.
Imps9 · 25/07/2016 22:28

Wow Pasta that's amazing! Well done you. Are you enjoying crochet? I find it very addictive.

Not much to report here. 27 weeks tomorrow - all is still going well by some miracle. Still feeling full of energy which is really nice.

Geek how is Mr G? Your 20 week scan must be coming up soon?

Beedles are you still in the UK? You chose absolutely the right time to come, weather-wise. Any more exciting purchases? Our Ergo arrived today - it looks baffling but I'm sure we'll figure it out.

Loops please pop by and update us on the Tommy's appt/TTC in general. I really hope you're okay.

Sorry for not being here sooner, had a lot on last week including a family wedding.

So I went to see Prof Quenby and was there barely any time at all. She recapped my history and said that she wanted to run blood tests to check the results that Worcester had and to test for other things that she didn't elaborate on. I'm due back there again on the 19th August. She mentioned sitagliptin being a possibility so don't know if that is part of their trial or something she can just give me. Will have to wait until I go back and see what she says then. Am due to ovulate around the 4th-8th August I think so trying to see if they can let me know the blood test results sooner in case there is anything that I need to know about before conceiving again. Their receptionist said she can't tell me anything so have emailed prof B to see whether he can help.

Good to see your bumps are all growing and that baby items are being bought. So wish I was at the stage you all are. Ds2 is nearly 4 and because he is big we are going to have to bag up his 4-5 wardrobe soon and move him into age 5-6 clothes (well apart from trousers as he is always a size behind on those!) so yet more clothes going into the loft and no closer to knowing if we will ever need them or not 😞

Imps9 · 26/07/2016 19:28

Hello Loops. Sounds like it could have been quite a frustratingly short and uninformative appointment, but it's fab that they're taking more bloods and have another plan in mind. The 19 Aug appoint sounds like it will offer more information/clarity. Let us know what Prof B says about TTC this month once the blood results are through - they should have them back by 4/5 August shouldn't they?

Re: DS2's clothes, you could always invoke the Law of Sod and give them all away - then you'd be bound to get diffed with a sticky one and have to buy everything again.

I can really feel my ribs stretching today - it's the weirdest sensation. Am certain that if I listened closely enough I'd be able to hear them creaking.

Have you finished that blanket yet Pasta? I'm not far off finishing Barry-Baxter's fifth and final blanket - I've then got a couple of other projects that I'm really keen to finish before he arrives, but they're quite big ones so I don't know if I'll have the chance.

Beedles, Keep, Geek have you agreed names with your OH's yet?

OP posts:
Imps9 · 26/07/2016 19:59

Here's the fifth blanket. There's 5 more colours to go after the current blue one.

loopy that's fabulous! Great work

loops I'm sorry it wasn't more helpful, I guess I hope they find something minor and reversible in the blood tests. I agree you may as well TTC this month..

All good here, 30 weeks tomorrow and can't believe I'll have a baby so soon, we've not really done anything to prepare yet!

No imps we certainly haven't agreed names... Girl, some v good possibilities but not really for boy!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/07/2016 08:37

geek we've had our own heatwave here, though maybe not quite so hot. Plenty hot enough for a pregnant person though, glad we're still on holiday! Sorry about mrgeek's kids, is he any better yet?

pasta lovely blanket. Baby Beedle now has some clothes and a crib (no mattress yet!) But I'm not sure we really believe that we will actually have a baby in approx 15 weeks Shock. No name or pram discussions yet. I have painted one wall of the nursery though, it involved 6 different colours so 1 wall is slightly more impressive than it sounds - the other 3 walls will be plain so won't take too long.

loopy sorry the appointment wasn't as helpful as you had hoped. Hope you do hear something before rat-smacking time.

imps do you think 5 blankets will be enough Wink I do like the stripy one. I have nearly finished my 1st blanket and already planning the next one :o

I saw the mw yesterday, everything appears to be fine. MrB came along to hear the hb. I have another scan in September to see if my placenta is still low. Helpfully the letter telling me about the appointment made no mention of what it was for, but the mw thinks that it what it is!

Imps9 · 27/07/2016 09:24

What is it with you people never posting photos? We need a photo of your blanket work-in-progress now please Beedles. What yarn did you go for?

Mr Imps won't discuss names yet, and is very reluctant to look at the baby names book. He has mentioned a couple of boys names he quite likes though, and one of them I like too, so hopefully he won't change his mind. My mind is made up on the girls' name though - Mr Imps did say "yes, that's quite nice" when I told him what it was, so as far as I'm concerned that's that one sorted Grin

OP posts:
Pastamancer · 27/07/2016 19:48

There you go, my first blanket. I have already ordered the yarn for my next one and am hoping it arrives tomorrow.

We are jolly well going to get and stay diffed this month and we are BROOKING NO ARGUMENT.
Imps9 · 27/07/2016 19:56

That is fabulous Pasta. What have you got planned for your second one? Have you signed up to Ravelry?

OP posts:
Pastamancer · 28/07/2016 08:28

Yes I am on ravelry and have added a couple of Brookers as friends on there. I am going to do the meadow cal, not sure what it will look like but will hopefully learn something while doing it. I have also seen a couple of Christmas designs I like, one is a dark blue with snowflakes and the other is a multi c2c with different designs. I am not sure that I would be able to change colour so will probably do the ❄ one first. Just need to find yarn, there are 2 market stalls near me that have a good selection

BeedlesPineNeedles · 28/07/2016 08:35

Sorry imps please forgive me! This one is just made from a variety of yarns, but I've chosen some stylecraft colours for my next one :o I liked the baby cashmerino but thought the colours are all a bit dull. MrB won't think about names yet either.

Well done pasta what will the next one look like?

We are jolly well going to get and stay diffed this month and we are BROOKING NO ARGUMENT.
Imps9 · 28/07/2016 09:28

Oooooooh Beedles that's lovely! Love the colours.

Pasta how do you add people as friends on Ravelry?? And how would I find you? I'm ImpersK if you are looking for another Brooking friend, although I haven't uploaded anything interesting onto the site. Maybe I will do that this evening.

Imps9 · 28/07/2016 09:29

Btw has the mobile MN site gone really shit for everyone, or is it just me?

OP posts:
Imps9 · 28/07/2016 09:31

Oh and Pasta, other than the lovely little indie online shops for yarn, Wool Warehouse is really good for choice, v quick delivery and being able to choose the particular dye lot you want your yarn to come from. Link here

OP posts:
Pastamancer · 28/07/2016 15:12

I've sent you a friend request Imps, you should be able to recognise my name :)

Imps9 · 28/07/2016 15:58

Gosh, I'd forgotten that that name was you Pasta!

OP posts:
Pastamancer · 28/07/2016 17:04

It is the name I use mostly in life, I prefer to keep my MN separate Wink

I had a Wool Warehouse order come today, what a pretty bag it comes in, I wasn't expecting that. I've started my first square for the CAL, it is made with cotton so that is a new experience for me

We are jolly well going to get and stay diffed this month and we are BROOKING NO ARGUMENT.
Imps9 · 29/07/2016 09:00

That's lovely Pasta. I'm having loads of fun updating my Ravelry acc with all the stuff I've done - it's so nice to see it all in one place. Was tempted to pull a sickie today to spend the day bringing it completely up to date

OP posts:
Imps9 · 29/07/2016 09:01

Oh and the cotton - which one are you using? I used cotton once and didn't get on with it at all because it was so easy to split. That may well have just been the brand I was using - would be interested to hear how you get on with it.
