Gah didn't realise we'd reached 1000 messages on the old thread!

Glad you're all mayonnaised up Trix! What do you mean by "where" did I have my drips - did you mean the clinic, or whether they put them in my arm/hand? To answer both - Bourn Hall in Cambridge, and in my left arm (my vein never behaves in the right arm). I had a chair 3 times and a bed once, but that was only because all chairs were taken!

Here's the second one - just a little car seat one for when it's tiny. Less keen on the colours (they looked better as a ball of yarn!) but it's as soft and as snuggly as anything.

We've decided against NCT. It's too much money when we're going to miss 1/3 of it. The village where we live has loads going on for babies/young children and we have a number of friends and neighbours with babies so I think I should be able to meet people and find people to spend my days with without too many problems.

imps you're so clever I love the green blanket and the camoflague one is cool. I bet no other baby will have one like that! But, how can you live in a village? I imagine you living in a big city :o

trix excellent work on all the drugs, I can't Believe you get MrT to do your bum bullets Shock its a good thing mine are fanjo only as I don't Think MrB would be too keen to help!

loopy I checked out our vitamins drawer! MrB was also taking l-carnitine, selenium and pycogenol (not every day just each of them a couple of times a week) and I was also taking inositol, which I've read is good for people with PCOS so might help you (didn't seem to do me any harm either!)

cups I have seen maybe's blankets, they are Lovely. I wonder if she would post overseas just for me!

Alcohol-free wine is a bit easier find here as the supermarkets etc aren't allowed to sell anything over 3.5%. Jacobs Creek do one called Unvined, which is quite nice. None of them really taste quite right, White and rose are best, but they're usually fairly sweet (but drinkable) if you find any red leave it on the shelf. They really do not taste right at all

Imps9 · 29/04/2016 06:44

Thank you Beedles! I am definitely a country bumpkin rather than a sophisticated city dweller Grin Our village is fab though - it has a butchers, bakers, greengrocer, library, great pubs and - best of all - a village green complete with dick pond. We're very lucky to live here.

There is a serious gap in the market for non-sugary/sweet soft drinks. I don't have a very sweet tooth and am not keen on J2Os and fizzy drinks. I tend to have lime and soda or sparkling water when I'm out, but it's not very exciting. Maybe we should come up with a Brooking range of soft drinks!

Belle, what happened with AF? Purple how are things with you?

Oh ps Beedles - we can expect that bumpie soon, eh?

OP posts:
BeedlesPineNeedles · 29/04/2016 06:58

dick pond imps :o :o :o

BeedlesPineNeedles · 29/04/2016 07:07

You'll have to wait for the bumpie till I've finished giggling over the dick pond!

I can also recommend a drink called Beo, its made by Carlsberg. Completely alcohol -free but has a kind of brewed taste to it, not really sweet. Definitely an adult soft drink. But again I have no idea if you can get it in England! I haven't had any since last summer so I can't remember if its fizzy or not, it might be lightly sparkling as opposed to really fizzy.

Imps9 · 29/04/2016 07:20

Shock oh god I didn't notice that Grin Just imagine what a dick pond would look like Shock

BeedlesPineNeedles · 29/04/2016 07:34

Next summer you can take Prince Barry-Baxter to feed the dicks :o .o

Imps9 · 29/04/2016 07:42

What does one feed a dick I wonder? Grin I don't think I'm going to be able to get the image of hundreds of penises bobbing around on the water and swimming over for food out of my head today. Sorry if anyone else is affected by this too Grin

It's just occurred to me that Far had G last year too - and she got her BFP last year. So actually 2015 was pretty good for Brooking births, although the BFP count was low (just Far's?)

OK OK it seems we have done 2015 a disservice. Sorry 2015, it just seemed a bloody long time since we had a bfp

I've just searched out maybes things on Feb - wowee! I am def going to get one even though we have a million blankets already

Pastamancer · 29/04/2016 08:45

Countess would have got her BFP last year too as I think she is close to her due date now ;)

cartoontrickster · 29/04/2016 08:57

Hehehe dick pond!
Sorry yes I ment which clinic imps I couldn't remember.
Mr T is brilliant isn't he! He has to do something since his bit is over now Grin

hinkyhonk · 29/04/2016 09:26

HI!

hinkyhonk · 29/04/2016 09:30

Have been lurking a bit during late night feeds and keep meaning to pop on to say how great it was to read of some long serving brookers getting their bfps.

Q is a 2015 vintage and is a whopping 5 months old now.

We are jolly well going to get and stay diffed this month and we are BROOKING NO ARGUMENT.
BeedlesPineNeedles · 29/04/2016 12:07

Hi hinky Q looks very cute, though perhaps not entirely sure about you taking his photo! Lovely of you to drop in.

I Think the bfps and Babies were so spread out in 2015 that it felt like there weren't very many, but I'm glad you've all reminded us that we did have success in 2015. And rather Lovely successes they were too!

Pastamancer · 29/04/2016 16:49

Do we have any Brookers that are a size 18 on here? I have a maternity/nursing top that was too small for me so never worn and it needs a good home

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 29/04/2016 22:53

So pleased that everyone is having just good news at the moment!

I knew nothing of Maybe knitting? Have I been under a rock at the wrong time?

So, ewcm appeared yesterday and DH failed to DTD 3 times last night, but he had success tonight at his first attempt thank god so we are in with a chance, just hope I hurry up and ovulate now!

Pasta I wouldn't want to tempt fate at all, given that I'm still ttc but I might fit an 18 as I've lost a fair bit of weight now. Although having one of those moments where I feel like I'm more likely to drop back to a size 12 than I am to have a third baby. Wish I had a crystal ball to see how this story is going to end.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 30/04/2016 07:07

Geek I have a favour to ask. Someone I know from a RMC thread is having a rough time. I think she is 44 and has been seeing Shehata, and has been on his super ovulation plan for 4 months, which involves letrozole and prednisolone and progesterone, possibly other stuff. She hasn't had a BFP so far on this plan. She went to an open morning at Bourn Hall and they basically told her that Shehata is wrong to waste her time and she has no chance unless she does IVF with a donor egg. She had a meeting this week with Shehata as was due for follicle scans for her next cycle and will ovulate this weekend. He said that she should try 2 more cycles on this plan, but then said that her chances are low. He also said that her chances of IVF working with her own eggs is about 5%. He said her chances of it working with donor eggs would be 40%. She is struggling with the idea of having a baby that she wouldn't be the biological mother to. And as well as coming to terms with it not being her DNS they are saying they get their donor eggs from a clinic in Alicante so it would be introducing an unknown Spanish genepool. She has one child who is 3, and I guess she wants them to look like they are siblings. Would you be willing to exchange messages re the subject? I think it would really help her to speak to someone else who is using the donor route. I also think that if it could be a donor egg that is from the UK she might deal with it better. But apparently Bourn Hall and the Lister re Shehata both get their eggs from Alicante, so no idea if this means UK eggs aren't an option? I remember sweetie having her twins and just because she carried them and gave birth they were her babies no question and i suspect if she had a baby that came out very Spanish looking she would love it inconditionally as her own as hormones are very powerful to us after having a baby! It's just not a journey she ever thought she would be on and I think she is in shock still and needs to talk to someone who has been there and got a BFP at the end of it.

ControlGeek · 30/04/2016 16:20

loopy well done on the well timed DTD, and also on the weightloss! - Btw going from an 18 to a 12 is doable, I did just that to get my BMI down for IVF. The added bonus is I now have 5 sizes of clothes to work my way through before I have to hit the maternity shops :)

Oh your poor friend, my heart really goes out to her. When you're at that crossroads there's nothing feels so bleak as feeling pushed into making that choice. Of course I'd be very happy to exchange messages, one of the reasons we chose Alicante was because they have a lot of caucasian donors and the Spanish regulations require the clinics to provide as close a match as possible. There's also a magical process where, during the gestation, the mother's body actually switches on and off genes within the baby's makeup - Sweetie was the one who told me about that, and I saw a picture of her lo's next to a picture of her as a baby, and the similarities were incredible. I'll do some digging and find the proper scientific explanation of it. But basically it means that, were it possible, if the same embryo were given to three different mothers, the three resulting babies would look very different because of the different genes that are switched on and off.
