please help :( so confused! (picture!)

Hi all, as a relative newbie I am becoming so confused with my cycle!
In short- I tracked my cycle for the first time ever last month. It was 25 days long, and I got positive opks on days 14 and 15, meaning that ovia recorded day 16 as ovulation.
I just decided randomly to do an opk 10 minutes ago (on day 12), as I have a splitting headache, and pains in my abdomen. Got a positive straight away. This has shifted the whole ovia app, meaning that my plans for baby making on Friday of this week are scuppered! Dp is away so no chance of seizing the moment.
So my questions are:
Is that a positive opk?
Is it usual for the day of ovulation to vary so much?
Is there any chance I will get lucky this month? I can't dtd now, but did it on Saturday and sunday- so 3 and 4 days before ovulation?

I would say that's not a positive- the test line doesn't look quite as dark as the control line. Maybe keep testing and see how things develop? Hopefully you'll get one nearer to when your OH is home?

I wouldn't know a lot about variation in cycles- this is my first time tracking mine this cycle so can't tell you if I've varied- but I would assume some variation will be normal?

Last cycle I ov'd cd27, cycle before CD 22, though I do get some weirdly long cycles every once in awhile. A variation of some sort is only natural.... these things are not clockwork!

Ooh that's interesting... I thought the bottom line was the test line? Which definitely looks darker to me? Have I got the lines mixed up ?

Supposedly your ovulation day can change quite a bit, so what is known as your follicular phase (I think) - the time between the first day of af and the day you ovulate - can vary in length, but the luteal phase - the time between the day of ovulation and the start of your next AF - will stay the same give or take a day. So basically you can ovulate any day in your cycle, but your AF will almost always be a set number of days after that.

I had sex with husband 5 days before ovulation and got caught with my daughter. Positive opk and pain in right side. So maybe you haven't missed your opportunity.

Opal - I won't rely too much on Ovia app when it comes to your fertile window and OV day! It certainly screwed me over in February when I heavily relied on it and missed my OV day (also forgot my OPK sticks, rushing to the plane etc) I timed it well and left work early (working in Iraq) to fly home before OV and somehow missed the "window". Or maybe it didn't work for me. I'll never know

The first pic looks more positive than the best positive OPK I got last month and I'm currently pregnant. I'd definitely say it's dark enough.

Not at all! According to my chart we DTD on days -6, -4, -3 and -1 before Ov. My OPK was positive 2-3 days before fertility friend thinks I ovulated though which seems a bit too long so it's possible I actually ovulated a day earlier which would mean we DTD on days -5, -3, -2 and 0 (day of Ov). Even when using OPKs and temping it's not an exact science it seems! Good luck

opal have you looked at SMEP at all? That was what we did the month we conceived. It was only our second month trying and I was temping and OPK-ing too but added in SMEP and it worked. It helped me relax about the when to do it too as it basically just made the decision for me! Just thought it was worth mentioning. Good luck!

Was made redundant yesterday and just landed in the Blighty! And now it's all about DTD and TTC for a baby #1! No Iraq or work related issues and stress involved! Hopefully will be positive before I know it!
