24 and thinking about it

Hi All,

My first post so here goes...

Myself and my partner are thinking about trying for our first child. I'm 24 and he's 27. We moved into our own home last year and neither of us are bothered about getting married.

However, I can't help but think I'm too young to be a parent! I know people have had babies much younger, my closest friend included.

I just wondered if this is a normal feeling and if anybody else had the same concerns.

I had my daughter when I was 24/25 it was the best decision I thought the timing was perfect. When I'm 50 she will be 25 and I love that thought.

Your life doesn't end because you have a child. You can still do things lol

I'm not worried about missing out on anything as I'm definitely no party animal.

I just think I'm stuck in the mind set of being a teenager who's mum would kill her if she got pregnant!

If you think she will be unhappy about it. She will get over it in time and will eventually be happy for you

We started trying when I was 22 I'm now nearly 25... 2 miscarriages and no baby. I am so glad we started early! I know that this won't apply to everyone but it's a part of ttc that is worth remembering is a possibility
The only suggestion I have (and I know it's so hard) is not to put your whole life on pause, make your decision and then just go with it

I fell pregnant and had mine at 24, best thing I ever did with my life!! I had another less than a year later (neither were planned, but wouldn't change a thing)! I honestly think that if everyone waited until they were completely "ready" then nobody would ever have babies

I had ds Last year at 24 dh 34 now at 25 & 35 I am pregnant with dc2. I wouldn't change a thing.
Me and dh own a house and dh is a solicitor and I have a few rental properties that bring in a fair bit a month so financial I we are good.
I was never a club goer or anything like that so I don't feel I'm missing out.

Nobody is ever completely ready for a baby
