So AF got me this afternoon!! Trying not to get down in the dumps (although I just watched 'one born every minute' on catch-up and sobbed!)
Dusting myself off and hoping for better luck in April! A few stats:
Age-33
TTC-5th cycle
DC-1 DS (3.5 years old)
Anyone else at the start of their cycle and trying something new in the hope of a more successful month?!

Footprints you just made my day lol. Only the little one is a handful, but a woman got to get someGrin even when not ttc 😂

Tee4me · 24/04/2016 16:44

Thanks everybody. Just got home, this is definitely AF not spotting. Oh well, I'm over it now, bring on the new cycle!!!! January I couldn't agree more, if AF has to come, I'd much rather early than late, I feel like I'm 2 days ahead of the game now, so that has to be a good thing. Been looking at my ovulation calendar and really it's not so bad looking at the new dates. Plan is to do lots more BDing! We only got in x3 last month because I was so ill, this time I plan to carry on even after ovulation. Perhaps I should stop trusting opks & temps 100%, and just try and generally DTD more throughout the whole month, rather than focusing on the couple of days before ovulation. Feeling optimistic right now.
Mimi wow, good on you, and goodness I'm sorry to hear what you have been through. You clearly are very fertile which must be a comfort! Sounds like you've just had an unlucky few months?
Good luck and baby dust to everybody this month! Who's testing/due AF next ??
Parney how are you feeling?? xxx

OP posts:
raddersmrs · 24/04/2016 17:29

tee sorry to hear but a great attitude to have. At least you kind of know why it didn't happen in the sense that your body wasn't fighting fit because you were poorly

So myself you and suchajem are pretty close now with ovulation times etc which is nice

Mimi wow you have got your hands full.

Footprints they will fade after the surge ... I've lost track sorry do you think you have ovulated already or about to? In guessing if it's just faded then it's around now??

I'm just going to temp to ovulation and then not in lp I think

Tee4me · 24/04/2016 18:03

Thanks Radders, I took my lead from you, trying to think about all the positives of being set back:

  1. an extra month's pay (we are about to add a ground floor extension and loft conversion to our house, so every extra pay cheque will be helpful - I'm a freelancer - plus I won't be heavily pregnant during the build and will have lots of time to put finishing touches to all new rooms)
  2. baby due date is creeping closer to Spring 2017 and pulling away from Christmas 2016, which I think could be a nice time of year to give birth

I got preg cycle 3 with DS, then preg cycle 3 this time (ended in mc) and now I'll be on cycle 3 since that, so maybe my good luck comes in 3's?! I'll be concentrating on healthy eating again, and will also drop temping in LP like you. Also I reeeeally want to relax more about it, but HOW??! xxx

OP posts:
raddersmrs · 24/04/2016 18:17

All those sound valid points to me xx

I know I want to relax more too!! It's so difficult. Especially when you've been pregnant then lost it

Think I will be devastated if I don't get a BfP this month but trying to not get my hopes up

Were you surprised you didn't get bfp first cycle after the CP?

Bought some aspirin from tesco - 75mg - is that the right dosage?

Tee4me · 24/04/2016 18:33

Exactly Radders, I have been more anxious since the loss. I was soooo geared up for a BFP cycle after mc/cp, to make things worse I had so many promising signs too, and so many people telling me about their BFPs after loss. I convinced myself I was pg, so was actually shocked to see AF.
The only thing I'll admit for me is that I don't DTD on the day of ovulation, as I'm gently swaying pink, so in fairness I am missing my most fertile day each month.
Yes the 75mg is what I have (yellow packet), but please look up the complications/warnings associated with taking it daily. Technically should really only take under doctor supervision, so I feel a bit cautious about taking it for too long.... xxx

OP posts:
Jod1985 · 24/04/2016 18:46

tee are you DTD ahead of Ov to swag for pink?

Jod1985 · 24/04/2016 18:46

Swag? = sway lol!

Nimisha · 24/04/2016 18:47

Tee that's a really positive way of putting things. I'm also trying to concentrate on the positives of not conceiving this month so I won't be too disappointed. I fell pregnant the first cycle with DD and then only cycle 2 with DS. I don't want to get my hopes up because I have a gut feeling is going to take a while this time.

Tee4me · 24/04/2016 19:12

Definitely makes things feel more hopeful when focusing on all the positives.
Jod yes apparently the pinks are slower swimmers, so better to have them all waiting when you release an egg, otherwise the theory is if you DTD on the day of ov the blues will out swim to meet the egg. But I'm the first to agree that you can never make your chances much better than 50/50, but I'd like to think I tried. Having said that, as the months go on, I'm worrying less about the DTD cut off! I think I'll try more after ovulation this time too (as per O+12 theory). So really all I do is miss the day off ovulation itself (I'm sure that's when I conceived my DS).
I would be delighted with another lovely boy! My little fella is my hero! Plus it could be ammunition to get a third from DH is we have a 2nd DS! Like I said, just a gentle sway Grin xx

OP posts:
raddersmrs · 24/04/2016 19:23

Tee I understand completely because I think I would probably do the same, swaying for the opposite on the second Bt bet it's difficult!

When do you take it then?
Do you think it's worth just taking the aspirin in the lp or is that too late??

Mimilicious013 · 24/04/2016 19:48

Evening ladies
I take the aspirin everyday from cd1 at about the same time. It is also meant to help the blood flow preparing for ov as well as implantation. My doc encouraged me to take it daily even during the 1st trimester. Just make sure you don't take any pain killers with aspirin. Google "baby aspirin when ttc"

Footprints1 · 24/04/2016 19:57

CD23 Star 9dpo or 1dpo?!!

Radders- I either just ovulated or I im 9dpo. First ovulation this month I bled straight after LH surge and then got another few positives Friday- Sunday this weekend so I attempted to ovulate again! Weird stuff?!
Will see how I feel next weekend to Test which brings me to when AF is due from 1st Ov date. If no symptoms will hold on til the following week. Really don't think it's my month though !

Tee- yes I'd like to sway pink too! Although my fertility is low anyway as my hormones are high (FSH) and ovaries were a bit sleepy after pill. So to reduce my chances even more is tricky. Especially when I have no idea when I ovulate.?! Too many positive LH surges.
Do u take the aspirin in leutal phase too? Some things are not recommended in the later stage.

Jod- I still have loads of EWCM! Not complaining Wink do u? Do u think u ovulated today?

My boys keep thinking I'm poorly every morning with the temperature thing in my mouth! :)

Good point tee -spring baby sounds good. My youngest is April bub and was great walking pram in park on lazy spring summer days!!

2 of my clients fell pregnant losing weight. They were training with me for a bit whilst trying for baby and both fell pregnant. Both lost over a stone in weight in 6 weeks. Both had girls! Fewer calories may be the key?! For either a girl of a baby! Confused

Parney- hope you are feeling ok.

Nim- Fertility friend is not my friend today as now it thinks I'm going mad with two ovulation days! Confused

So who is next to test ladies?
Hope u all having a relaxing evening. I couldn't resist.. Glass of wine HmmWineHmm

Footprints1 · 24/04/2016 20:18

Just looking through my clients file and they both were on low carb low sugar diets. Hmm.. The investigation continues..

Lots of protein.. Grapefruit every morning..

Both did running and HIT (high intensity training). Great for stress, and releases good endorphins.

Tee4me · 24/04/2016 20:25

Yes Footprints, I've heard a 'declining' state sways girl! I might try that this month. Dairy is good for girls too. Perhaps I'll focus more on that and not worry too much about timings.
Are you a Personal Trainer?
Yes defo take the aspirin in LP too because it helps with implantation. I second everything Mimi said about that, it's reassuring your doctor encouraged it Mimi!! That actually makes me feel better about persevering with it! xx

Footprints1 · 24/04/2016 20:45

Tee- Yes I'm a personal trainer. Use to do military/forces but now just private clients.
Self employed-Work around the kids being at school so I have lots of spare time in between clients.

fagè total Greek 0%yogurt is excellent for protein and dairy. Low in calories too.
That with pineapple and few Brazil nuts makes an excellent breakfast! Or pudding!

Tee4me · 24/04/2016 21:01

Fab, lots of Greek yoghurt and berries for me this month then! Will try and swerve sugar (also swerving salt as that is very boy friendly), not much left on the menu for me!! Determined to be more relaxed this month though, that's the number 1 priority xx

OP posts:
raddersmrs · 24/04/2016 21:21

I remember now footprints - sorry I forgot. Who knows what went on there but if you have had double ovulation that's double chances of catching an egg!
you're super fit then if you're a personal trainer!

I definitely could do with shifting a few pounds. I've got a healthy BMI but I don't think it means much as I def need to lose a bit. I've been doing a bit of juice plus.

Thanks Mimi, I am going to start taking the aspirin then. Will take it with all the other tablets I take.. I'm going to rattle.

How many Brazil nuts do you eat a day? And how much pineapple?

It's bizarre because we nearly didn't try this month to avoid December then we decided we didn't care in the end then this all happens.

Tee4me · 24/04/2016 21:32

I went with x4 brazils each day, and 1 fresh pineapple over about 3 days. I didn't eat the core (the most potent part) because I read something about that together with aspirin could overdo the blood thinning effect. Just as well because the core is gross!!! Not sure about the others, but I only ate this stuff just after ovulation to around when implantation should happen.

OP posts:
Footprints1 · 24/04/2016 21:59

Brazil nuts are quite high in calories but if they do the job then worth cutting back on something else- like bread pasta pastry anything with flour in..they are wasted carbs.

Pineapple is yummy! I've been eating it from start of cycle just to get it into my system. A little bit each day. I chopped it up and put it into a tub in fridge so I could pick at it all week without keep having to cut it up.

Radders, I use to be very fit, but had trauma to my neck in an accident which caused a collapsed disc in my neck, so had trouble with it ever since. I still train others just not so much myself anymore. I crack the whip and only do half of what they have to do ;)

SuchaJem · 24/04/2016 22:16

Sorry about AF tee. Onwards and upwards to next cycle Smile

CD4 over here. Impatient for fw now!

raddersmrs · 25/04/2016 07:09

My temp is 36.08 this morning ... That's quite low isn't it? Would that be classified as a dip in normal circumstances??
Surely can't be ovulating!

Tee4me · 25/04/2016 07:35

Morning!
Radders there can often be random dips, I wouldn't think anything of it if it hasn't happened at a significant point in your cycle. The point of temping is to build up a general picture of your full cycle over the month. So you should be able to almost draw a horizontal line through the chart (called your coverline) and as a rule of thumb, pre ov temps should be somewhere below that, and post ov somewhere above it. But individual anomalies aren't really significant... what CD are you again?
I've attached a picture of the last full cycle I charted. Have indicated where ov & AF happened. See how depressing it is towards the end when temps start to drop, I hated seeing that!!

Back to SQUARE ONE CD1! Anyone want to spend April with me?!

SuchaJem how long are your cycles? Looks like me, you & Radders might be due AF at a similar time. According to my calendar, I'm looking at 21st May xx
