Depends what they want to do with them at the hospital. They may put them forward for some sort of IVF ..... HOWEVER, my dp had a vasectomy reversal and had a very, very low sperm count. The docs all said that there was nothing he could take to improve it, but as he trains bodybuilders and has enormous knowledge of this sort of 'problem' (body builders can lower their sperm count from steroid use) we now have 28 straws of good wriggly sperm on ice!!!!

Good Luck with your wriggly sperm! the doctor did mention IVF to her, what did your dh do to get his sperm count up then please? So I can pass it on to her...Thanks.

Isnt vitamin E supposed to increase the sperms stickyability into the egg? Sorry not very scientific but I think if the man takes vitE supplements and zinc it makes his sperm better?

A friend of mine's dh was told that he had a low sperm count & that they would probably need IVF treatment 2 concieve.
6 years down the line, they have 3 lovely boys under the age of 5 who were all concieved naturally ( 2 were evan unplanned!) and the only thing that she can put it down 2 is that he no longer cycles 2 work!
Strangly enough, he is now waiting 4 a vasectomy!
So there is still hope b4 thinking aiong the ICSI line.

Charliecat - we tried naturally for 5 years and after investigations were told my DH had a very low sperm count. We did natural stuff for a bit - no tight pants or jeans, trying to cut down DH's alcohol and smoking, which he did do, plus zinc supplements. Unfortunately it still didn't work so more tests later, we did go for ICSI, which worked first time! My hubby's sperm count was very low, although when he did the sample for the ICSI, which was the first time we understood the measurement, there were still over a million live and motile sperm. However, they say a 'normal' sample is about 200 million!
