Results of pelvic ultrasound show large ovaries with multiple cysts. Im devastated and struggling to hold it together in work

I'm really sorry to hear this and I don't actually know what I'm talking about but I'm pretty sure my best friend had this (definitely multiple cysts big enough to require surgery). If your concern is about conceiving in relation to this she conceived really easily 2x

Best wishes to you, I hope things will be ok Thanks

Just spoke to gp who wants me to have blood tests but isnt overly worried. Said i probably have pco not the syndrome. She said during ovulation lots of cysts may appear too. Im really worried

I had a scan two years ago while on the pill and my ovaries were normal so i dont understand why theyre not now

Don't panic!! I had this and I have managed to conceive 3 children.

Actually on my last scan, all the cysts bar one had gone, they can come and go.

There are plenty of options :)

mammabear31 · 22/03/2016 12:55

I have this too Faye, and have fallen pregnant straight away with both DC's Smile don't worry, it shouldnt have any impact on your fertility.

Faye12345 · 22/03/2016 12:56

Again you've a way to before you panic too much, how long have you been trying to conceive?

Faye12345 · 22/03/2016 14:28

About 7 months Sad i wish id never had the scan now

Pcos does not necessarily mean you can't have children, please try not to worry. I was put on metformin which gave me a regular cycle, and never need any more medication. Dd was conceived through one contraception failure (after being told by an awful sonographer that my ovaries were in a terrible state and I would be lucky to have children).

If you find you need more help than that then clomid is a good option to make you ovulate.

All is not lost op, out of the many fertility issues out there, pcos is not the worst by a long mile. Don't lose hope, at least they know what the problem is now and they can treat you accordingly. Flowers

It will be fine.

I have half of one ovary and one Fallopian tube and I fell pregnant after a few months. You produce lots of eggs you only need one

And it's true you do produce lots of cysts when ovulating. Don't panic

Faye12345 · 22/03/2016 15:56

Sad im going to have bloods taken tomorrow so hopefully hormones levels will be looked at too

OP posts:
Threesquids · 23/03/2016 15:53

I wouldn't take much notice of hormone levels either, the month I conceived my progesterone level was 10 which is well outside of what is expected for pregnancy!

Got an 8 month old at home to prove it!

Faye12345 · 24/03/2016 16:04

Thanks ladies. Had all bloods done but not sure where in my cycle i am so they need to be interpreted. My fbc and blood glucose was fine. My thyroid is ok too x
