Opk as hpt?

Googling gives various opinions ranging from No to Yes! Period has been a bit unpredictable but definitely due either yesterday, today or tomorrow. Slight nausea and fatigue today but that's not unusual. Just got a positive opk, why did I do that and does it mean anything anyway?! I'd appreciate wise MNers' opinions more than anyone else's

I have seen others get positive opks and then do a hot and it be positive but the only really way to know is to do a pregnany test! Try an frer X

After reading about this exact thing on there. I took a OPK three days before I was due on and got a positive, then took a FRER i was meant to be waiting to use and got a faint positive!

I can't believe it, been trying for around a year! Just did another opk (as I have about 20,000), a really strong positive, much stronger than any I've ever had when used as opks! I know it's not a definate + but I feel hopeful

I read a really good description of this when I was pregnant with DS and only had OPKs in the house.

Both the OPK and the HPT look for a man, but the HPT will only find the man with the hat whereas the OPK will find the man (OV) and the man with the hat (BFP). Which is why you can't use an HPT as an OPK.

Yep! This is how I knew I was pregnant both times as I purposefully didn't have any HPT in!

Hungry Grin I think I'm quite tired, read that many times and still a bit Confused!

I too purposefully don't have hpts in, oh how we let ourselves down!!

UPDATE: just did a hpt, it's a +!

I hoped for a bit more excitement from Ovia TBH, it just said well done, get our pg app now. I hoped for a firework emoji at least!

LOL, Golfbuggy - I remember seeing that too when updating Ovia with + and feeling a bit short changed after all those encouraging "YOU CAN DO IT" type messages. I was only using it to track ovulation symptoms as they have such a wide range and I couldn't ever pinpoint ovulation - then I found out I was upduffage! Grin

Oh, and even though you've answered your own question, a positive OPK certainly indicated that I was going to get a + on HPT - which I did a few days later.
