Wtf is my body doing, so confused!!!

So I have a 1yr old dd. I breastfed til 9 months but still had a period every month although not regular, from 2 months! After I stopped breastfeeding completely have been more irregular, but this month totally confused! Should note we are not ttc til we go on hols in a couple weeks but would still be over the moon if we did 'accidentally' so just using withdrawal method, so I don't think I'm pregnant but still like to know if anyone has any ideas on what's happening!

So I had af, then about cd14 had ewcm with a bit of blood for about 3 days (assumed I was ovulating, first month with blood though) then cd29 (tues) af arrived, so I thought at last my cycle was settling after stopping breastfeeding. However I only bled that morning!! the last few days have been getting ewcm but no more bleeding. Done an early response test with fmu today (cd34) just in case but was bfn. What is happening??? Last months cycle was 40 days so I understand I may still have af properly but don't get the bleed on cd29 and ewcm last few days!

Hi Louise. I had exactly the same when I stopped bf my eldest. I had a regular period whist bf. When I stopped my cycles became long and my period was odd, light and short. It took about 4 months for them to regulate themselves, they were then 32 days lasting around 7 with 3 heavy heavy days. My daughter was 13 months when I conceived our second. We had been TTC for 6 months before hand.

Thanks Amy,yes my last 2 periods I had really heavy first 2 days, lasted 5. So could I class one morning as a period?? Or just an irregular bleed I guess. I have cramps and sore boobs now so maybe il get af properly soon. Hope so then should be ovulating when we're away, dd will b 13 months then and my mum and dad are away with us too so can babysit cos they want grandchild number 2 as well!!! Is ewcm a symptom af is on the way? Never noticed it before x

I'd say it's probably random if you have no other symptoms. Normally ewcm is the most fertile cm but I get that randomly through my cycle and sometimes towards the end. Could be that you're ovulating now and will have a longer cycle, given the cramps and sore boobs especially. I'd do a HPT in a week or so if you've not had af by then. It's Also a sign of pregnancy.

I thought maybe ovulating but I had bloody ewcm cd14-16 so surely can't ovulate twice! Anyhow so close to hol now so let Dh 'leave it in'! Just in case I am ovulating! Thanks Amy can't wait for hols, especially in this weather, and trying properly 😀 will let u know what happens, crazy body! X

Just an update as its so frustrating reading posts with no 'conclusion'!

The second lot of ewcm in the month must have been ovulating because that 1 time I let Dh 'leave it in' resulted in my Bfp!!! So to ladies with irregular cycles it can still happen 😀

Got our definite bfp morning we went on hols so no cocktails for me but super excited so didn't mind! X
