quick questions regarding how many children you have and the time it took conciving them cos i'm nosey! .

few q's if you don't mind.

  1. how long did it take to concieve your children?
  2. did you use any contraception in between any of them (I know bit personal that one)
  3. without sounding ungrateful for having a DS, i'd love a DD next, (would obv love another ds) but anyway to help a DD to be concieved? (I know smacks ungrateful but if there's any extra tips.)

  1. dd1 - one cycle
dd2 - one cycle ds - three cycles db (due in July) - four cycles

  1. 1 try for DS , 2 for DD
  2. yes, absolutely......had bad PND after DS and was not in the right place , as it were, to have more....so definitely!
  3. sex a few days before ovulation might give you more of a chance, of slower, girl sperms being left to meet the egg, as the faster, boy sperms die off quicker....but defiitely not a foolproof method..think you get what you are given!

god miaou! lol. v quick! lol.

J took 8 months of DH being home! lol (he went away after 5 months for 6 months then came back) lol. so i'm not counting the first 6 months as I was on the combined pill then, so only 3 months if that makes sence?? hoping to be quick again

fell pg with dd1 shortly after we met
no contraception we knew we were going to be together...but still silly

was then on the pill, then tried the depo inj and hated it then had the mirena coil. once we decided to have dc2 it took a year to conceive dd2 once I'd had the mirena coil out, but to be fair dh was in a sub for four months of that year lol

fell pg with dd3 (according to the scan) accidently when dd2 was 12 months, had stopped bf, was hardly having sex and hadn't thought about contraception yet. we both knew it was a possibility that we could get pg and obviously weren't bothered or we would have sorted something out.

no idea how to have a girl but I do have 3 girls

well quite lulu as I say would love another boy and wouldn't be horrid to another boy but i'd really love a girl as well. (hopefully not one of each thou as twins! lol.)

dd - 1 cycle
ds - 1 cycle

no contraception in between (they are 19 months apart)
we really wanted a boy second time round (would obviously have loved a girl if we'd had one though!) so I charted my cycle and we bd'd right when I was due to ovulate and 9 months later ds arrived! Obviously we were lucky too but what Lulumama said about timing is right. I think it's called Dr Shettles method.

1)DS1-Kind of half accindent half trying so 1st attempt.
Ds2-Decided to try just as the fertile time window was ending, Fell PG the next month.
Ds3-1st attempt, although I didn't know we were trying at the time. Dh had changed his mind and not told me

New baby due soon-Accident!

2)condoms, withdrawl and rhythm method.
3)new baby LTH will be a boy too so I really have no idea.

i have 2 dd's they were both concieved 1st time of ttc (i can garantee that with dd1, dd2 was def in the first 5 times of trying, so within 3 days)
i used a few types of contraceptives in between trying.

i dont know about tips for girls, i've heard the father/ sperm decides the sex of the baby. I didn't do anything special to concieve girls (different dads) as well so maybe im just very lucky (not that having a ds would be unlucky but i always wanted 2 girls)

  1. Both dd's conceived when we had sex a few days before ovulation (2 or 3). Deliberately in the case of dd2 as we wanted another girl (female sperm supposedly live longer than male).

Two cycles after coming off combined pill

Now on Cerazette, no plans to try again at present!

We've got a dd but no special measures taken iyswim.

thanks girls for the tips on concieving a girl. i'm thinking it will take about 3/4 cycles again to catch? (fingers crossed??) cos I was on the pill was 6.5 years before stopping.

not so sure munz, on the pill for 5 years between pregnancies and got pregnant on the 2nd cycle....sometimes you can be superfertile when you come off the pill!

1 - ds 13 months, been ttc for 20 months now with no success.

  1. pill for a few months then condoms then back on pill (pilll didn't agree with me when went back on it straight after ds' birth).
  1. I'd be grateful for any baby now

word of warning - never "assume" that it will take 1/2/3 cycles, or that you will conceive straight away because that's what happened the first time round. The conception boards are literally full of posts from people saying "I fell straight away with dc1 so thought it would happen straight away and now I'm x months down the track and nothing". Assume that it will take up to a year, then anything less is a bonus .

dd1 spontaneous combustion - unplanned (but happy) accident

dd2 spontaneous combustion - unplanned (but happy) accident

dd3 spontaneous combustion - unplanned (but happy) accident

dd4 spontaneous combustion - unplanned and very shocking (but happy) accident

(Never quite got the hang of 'family planning')

  1. Oh yes, you name it, we tried it, but not very successfully hence the above.

  2. Despite having had 4dds I have not got the faintest idea how they came about so unfortunatly cannot give you any advice on how to acquire one... is all a complete mystery to me.....

  1. DD1 - six months. DD2 - six months. Previously, w/another partner, accidentally. Miscarriage at 10 weeks.

1)with ds1 it took 3 months from when i first stopped the pill.
with ds2 it took 1 month, we werent even trying it was a kind of accident. we were going to wait a year before trying.
( i have a bigish age gap between ds1 and 2. ds1 is 8 and ds2 is 6 months.)

2)i was on the pill on and off for 7 ish years. i dont really get on with it. on the mini-pill now which is much better.

  1. if you know how to get a dd i want to know!! i am the odd onw out in this house, even the bloody cats are boys!!

thanks wannabe - I've told DH it will prob take at least as long as b4, and then there's the 9 months to prepare - he's now changed his mind (from this year) to next year, and I really don't want to wait that long - as we'll be looking at 2 years + byu then after the PG etc. and I fear by then he'll change the goal posts again as it were.

anyhow thanks' for all your advice - I guess it is all quite random! lol.
