Advice please!

Sorry if this post sounds too much 'woe is me' but each month is getting harder.

I had my last Depo shot in November 2014. AF returned in September 2015, I've had a cycle between 29 & 30 days since.

EVERY single ovulation stick, test and digital indicator have been negative.
When will I start ovulating!
My partner and I decided to start TTC in January 2015, all I can do is wait for something to start.
We can't even start properly TTC, and this truly is heart breaking, I am completely consumed by this, and I feel like I'm failing at something I haven't even started.

Please tell me there isn't something wrong, and that I'm not alone.

Have you been to the GP?

My friend just got pregnant after 6 months trying and she never got a single positive OPK. I think it can be quite hard to pinpoint so perhaps it doesn't necessarily mean you aren't ovulating.

Opks catch a surge in lutenising hormone that triggers ovulation, so you only get a positive when the LH in your pee reaches a particular level. There are a couple of ways you can be ovulating but not see positive OPKs, for example:

• you might have a very fast LH surge that happens in between your tests (which is why some women test a couple of times per day).
• if you have been testing in the morning, you might have missed your surge. This is pretty common, as LH starts to surge in the early hours of the morning and then takes a bit of time to get into your pee (so the levels might be high in the afternoon), and then your surge might have passed by the next morning. You might find if you test in the afternoon you get different results.
• you might need a lower than average level of LH to ovulate, and so just be someone who never gets a positive opk.

There are women who have regular cycles and do not ovulate, but this is rare. The more likely scenario is that you are somehow missing your surge .

I'd recommend you learn to chart your basal body temperature, as this will give a good idea of whether you are ovulating. If I were you, i'd also aim to have sex every other day from day 12 to 20, or look out for cervical mucus that looks like eggwhite and have sex whenever you spot it.

I have been trying ovulation sticks mostly in the morning, but also in the afternoons of the days I "should" on average be ovulating.
I am trying to track my temp too, but have found it quite difficult.

I don't think my GP will do anything as technically the depo only "ran out" 12 months ago.

And to top it all off my sister and two friends are expecting, which just feels like a kick in he teeth #imhappyforthemreally lucky c*ws

They might be able to give something to help kick start ovulation. The depo is renowned for causing a delay in fertility returning but they don't always tell you that before you get it

Certainly didn't tell me before I got it
I think I will try to see my GP, even if it's just for them to put my mind at rest.

It's the most natural part of life, why does it have to be so hard.
