Zika, scare mongering and TTC

That's just it really.
DH and I are TTC #1
We were in South America in September but that's not my worry.
Although there's a little niggle.

There's mentions in news articles that Zika may spread here over the summer with SA being such a popular destination and pple returning home from their holidays who have contracted the virus.

I can't find ANY definitive or objective advice.

I'm worrying but am I being cautious or ridiculous or realistic?

I think you'll be okay re: your time in SA. I'm pretty sure you'll be okay. I found this:

With regards to TTC, carry on. It's only sexually transmitted at this point, and seeing as it's only your DH you're having sex with, you'll be fine I'm ttc and I've not thought about it at all.

(Obviously mozzies spread it too but I really don't think you need to worry)

I know, but I just don't think it's worth putting ttc on hold or anything. Obviously somewhere like SA it's a different story (which is awful for those women) but I think until advice changes, carry on.

The mozzies that carry it can't survive in the uk from what I gather as its too cold for them, so even if people bring it over here it shouldn't be transmissible
