Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a <strong>Kitten</strong> = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like <strong>'something'</strong> = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a <strong>hooya</strong> = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing a <strong>Lemon</strong> = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

London all those sound pretty amazing, Vienna, Bruges & Croatia are on my list too.

Canters glad the night shift went well. Sorry to stir the crazy pot, but maybe it's implantation???

Fuzzy I don't temp atm, but I'm considering it for next cycle because of the seemingly late +ve with opks. Started opks cd8 once a day (all clearly -ve), then twice a day cd 13 & 14, then 4 times yesterday. Line has been getting progressively darker since cd13, although it does seem to depend on time of day. I guess I am a bit worried about short lp, but I suppose it's better to know for certain & deal with it if necessary. Or I guess I could be icing later this month than normal, I have been quite stressed recently. Sorry for the ramble Blush

ScottishLady7 · 16/02/2016 11:56

Flowers zyla

Gx canters, I really hope it's an implantation bleed!!! Keep us posted Smile

I'm trying to look on the bright side of the witch's arrival- guilt free skiing for a week at the end of Feb. Coincides with fertile period- poor DH gets so tired from skiing he is already not looking forward to having to perform!! Grin

LondonGirl83 · 16/02/2016 11:59

angela I temp (and OPK) and temping really is the only way to definitively know when you've iced. The OPKs can be thrown off by different things (though in general are reliable).

NameChange30 · 16/02/2016 12:02

Canters what cd / dpo are you? (Sorry if I missed it!) if the dates make sense it could be implantation??

stumblymonkey · 16/02/2016 12:08

AF is due Sunday.

What thermometers do people use for temping?

My fantasy travel list is: Luxury Safari in a tree top cabin, Burma, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador & Galápagos Islands and Madagscar to dance with the lemurs!

I highly recommend Belize once Zika has done one and Cambodia. They are my all time favourite places and would like to go back to both to show my DP.

NameChange30 · 16/02/2016 12:11

London I've been to Seville and it was wonderful. Definitely go! Depending on how you are with heat, be careful about timing. We went in May and there was a bit of a heat wave (up to 40C) ... If I went back I might go in April or October to be on the safe side!

Japan is on my bucket list too. And Iceland for the northern lights. I also want to go to central / South America but I'll but that on the back burner for now!

DH and I are thinking of doing a last minute ski break. Other than that we will just do a relaxing beach holiday somewhere, we haven't had one of those in AGES! We've had some brilliant trips but there has been lots of sightseeing and not much relaxing!

Canters15 · 16/02/2016 12:28

Arghhhh guys!! The crazy pot is stirred! Cd29 now name, so 14dpo- bit too late for implantation surely? Would be awesome if that's what's happening but I'm pretty sure its just AF being lazy. Thinking back I'm sure something like this happened before Christmas. I am normally a very regular 27 day cycle though... I'll poas tomorrow if no more bleeding.

Travel wise, I really want to do the Maldives water villa type thing! Also Thailand, African safari, Italy....

stumblymonkey · 16/02/2016 12:28

Name...I might be going to Seville or Granada for a girl's weekend this year.

This place is also on my bucket list! Haven't looked at the price though...

stumblymonkey · 16/02/2016 12:29

Canters...gx I'm not afraid to stir the crazy

LondonGirl83 · 16/02/2016 12:46

Oh stumbly, we are due AF same day... Where is that picture from? Interesting you mention Beliz. That's not some place I'd thought of.

Name Andalusia for Easter might be a winner then. If I'm not pregnant this cycle which is over this weekend, I might also try and sneak in a very short ski break now that there is good snow. Its my consolation prize I guess.

Canters gx for you. I'd definitely test tomorrow morning if I were you.

For those thinking of African safari, I can strongly recommend it. One of the best things I've ever done. It was super luxury as well (someone else was paying as part of a research project I was doing oddly). I'll never forget it :)

NameChange30 · 16/02/2016 12:53

Canters Definitely poas tomorrow morning if no bleeding! Gx for you.

stumbly You tested way too soon! But that means there's still hope Smile
Where is that photo - is it somewhere in Iceland?? Looks amazing!

My AF is due on Friday and I have a FRER which says it's 96% accurate if you test 2 days before AF... So I'm sorely tempted to test tomorrow morning! No symptoms so I'm convinced I'm not pregnant but would like to know either way so I don't have to keep fighting the stupid "what if I am" fantasy thoughts!

stumblymonkey · 16/02/2016 13:13

Name...it's Hotel Kakslauttanen in Finland.

angelazul · 16/02/2016 13:14

Just wrote out a post & it's disappeared, hhmmmm.

So poas & the line is much much fainter than this time yesterday. I'm guessing that I either iced a lot earlier & missed it (though going by other symptoms I doubt that), I haven't iced, or I ice later & have a short lp. I have an underactive thyroid & apparently not icing & short lp are quite common with this. I'm looking for some advice vidroids - should I temp for a cycle or 2 & see how things go, or should I go to GP now based on opks & underactive thyroid?

Stumbly is that the place in Iceland? Looks stunning.

I'd love to do African safari as well, London where did you go?

angelazul · 16/02/2016 13:15

x post - Finland, look stunning then lol

stumblymonkey · 16/02/2016 13:15

www.kakslauttanen.fi/en/accommodation/

stumblymonkey · 16/02/2016 13:18

Have now moved onto the wedding section....sleigh ride to a chapel made of snow in the forest under the northern lights!

LondonGirl83 · 16/02/2016 13:18

Angelazul- we were in Kruger in South Africa. I didn't pay a penny for it, but from what I gather the place we stayed charged $900 a night Shock and that was 15 years ago. It was luxury like I have never seen since :)

I would temp if I were you for a cycle to see when you are ovulating and check to see that you are (its possible to get LH surge and AF with no ovulation). Anyhow, apparently the occasional cycle without ovulating is common. I'd only worry if you had two in row. How long have you been trying and how old are you?

NameChange30 · 16/02/2016 13:18

OMG that looks amazing!

justtheonethen · 16/02/2016 13:23

Ooh lovely holiday chat!

I'm now not going far away at Easter for reasons I have said on fb group but will out me too much here! In a nutshell though I'm now going to be in Japan, Bali and Australia later in the year! So pretty fantasy holiday right there!

I'm considering Barcelona (again) for Easter trip or San Sebastián which I have fancied for a while.

angelazul · 16/02/2016 13:28

London I'm 34 in a few weeks, came off pill 8 moths ago, ttc for 6 months on cycle 7. I had my thyroid checked end Dec & the results were "normal", although I stupidly didn't ask t4 & tsh levels. My thyroid is more sub-clinical, & has been overlooked in the past, so I guess I'm worried that the same is happening again, & possible impacting on ttc. If/when I win the lotto, we'll visit Kruger then Wink

Stumbly when we got engaged we I considered getting married in Lapland, but my mum doesn't travel well so we ruled it out Sad

AliceScarlett · 16/02/2016 14:23

Anyone ever had 2 patches of EWCM? Had some on CD12, back to creamy, now EWCM again on CD19....sense it no make.

NameChange30 · 16/02/2016 14:33

just sounds like a bloody epic holiday! Lucky you! Grin

LondonGirl83 · 16/02/2016 14:35

Alice yes, I've had that. Its fairly common. Its a secondary estrogen surge. Some women get them about a week before AF is due.

LondonGirl83 · 16/02/2016 14:46
