Conceiving after chlymdia

I got told today that my bloods came back saying I've had chlymdia in the past and that I don't have the infection now. This came as a shock to me as ive been tested for sti's numerous times due to my ex and always came back clear. I don't know what to do, im gonna as the doctor for an ultrasound. Has anyone had experience if this? And conceived? I also had below ovulation point (25)

No direct experience, but my best friend was told her fallopian tubes were damaged by the infection & that she'd never get pregnant naturally. A month later what happens? She gets pregnant naturally. She's probably had an easier time getting pregnant than I have as she's recently conceived no2 and I'm still trying for No1.

So think positive, don't lose hope, and get a second opinion where you can. Am sure everything will be ok tho.

Thank you. It's so unnerving as I had no idea and have been tested it a few times cos my ex boyfriend couldn't keep it in his pants. I have no idea the damage it's done, he's saying I haven't got it now but shows I've had it in the past. Surely I've still got it as why would it show up in the bloods?

I think they look at antibodies hun. Don't worry though - and insist you get one of those water/glowy ultrasound tests (forgot the name but your GP will know). Thats the only way to know for def if you have any permanent scarring. It'll be ok though. Fingers crossed.

Ive been pregnant twice - one healthy dd who is 4 and, sadly, mmc at almost 11 weeks with number 2. Its never been flagged up that my blood had shown I had chlamydia in the past even though I was treated in my late teens. I was treated twice as the first round of antibiotics didn't work. I eventually developed pid but it was cleared. One of my ovaries is clubbed (that could be something I was born with though - I had investigations into heavy periods a few years after I was treated for chlamydia.) Anyway, I had success in getting pregnant and gave birth to a healthy baby girl. This time round, there is nothing to suggest my previous sti caused my loss. 1 in 4 pregnancies end in mc. Ironically, I caught chlamydia from my very first sexual partner at the age of 18, something I always thought was very unfair!

Very unfair indeed! My ex used to shag around for fun and here young dumb and in love used to take him back, got tested though and it came back clear. So god knows how long I've had it and what affect its done on me. And spacey, I think it's called a Hsg test, where they insert dye into you and watch it travel. I'm gonna ask for one and be really adamant! Better to be safe than sorry

So happy for you Loki in regards to your pregnancy! I feel my story is so similar to yours, perhaps only difference is my infection was caught at 20 from my first casual experience, using a condom! Obviously we weren't using it properly... felt very cursed at the time. I don't know if my infection developed into PID, about 6 months later I had a horrific UTI type problem whicg was treated as a UTI ans subsided. But it got me thinking and led me to get a full check up- something I hadn't done since I was 19 as I'd been (or so I thought) careful. Lo and behold: chlamydia. Now just starting TTC and plagued by the fear of infertility. Love hearing happy stories about women who have been through similar and come out of it as mothers!
