Anyone fancy joining me on a 2ww thread?

Technically I should be on the January bus, but as I've only just ovulated I only feel able to look ahead to a possible bfp now, and the Jan bus is already 10 pages long! I was reasonably active on the November bus, and did join the December one, but hardly posted, as I was convinced (rightly) that I had no chance of a bfp that month.

So, anyone fancy joining me for a 2ww thread??

Here are my stats:

Age: 36
TTC: #2
Cycle: #9
ETD: 10th Jan

Hilzypop that's rubbish I'm so sorry! She should have made that clear to u especially if she knew you were TTC. I have tried homeopathy in the past for terrible pmt/heavy periods with good success. Know it's not everyone's cup of tea but wotrth a shot of u would rather not take medication that messes with your cycle. I am also off for some reflexology this arvo as someone recommended for hormone/fertility problems and at this point I'll try anything!! I started going after my first mc 6 months ago. Couldn't tell you if it helps menstruation mind you and I'm still not pregnant(!) but it's bloody relaxing and definitely keeps my anxiety and worries at bay. Helps to control the 2ww mania!! X

hilzypop · 08/01/2016 17:20

Thanks Lucinda15 sorry was just needing a moan. Yes I'm wondering about something alternative might have a look into it, even if it just relaxed me a bit it would help. This month Im going to throw everything out the window and just dtd as much as poss. Hope youve had a nice relaxing afternoon and fingers crossed for bfp.

Celen · 08/01/2016 18:09

Hey girls, thank you all for your kind thoughts. Just need today to be over really, there's been a lot of tears Sad

11dpo, another bfn this morning. If it's bfn tomorrow, I think it'll probably be a trip to the Feb bus. Having said that, I did have the oddest TMI ALERT watery pale pink spotting earlier Confused Trying and failing not to read too much into it!

Namethattune · 08/01/2016 19:18

Fx for you Celen. Hilzypop I really feel for you. What a nightmare. I'd be pissed off too!

So I poas again this morning (12dpo) and the line is definitely darker, which is encouraging.

If anyone wants to try something alternative then I'd recommend acupuncture. We've been ttc for 9 months with no success, so I went to an acupuncturist in December. I had 4 sessions and now I have a bfp.

Anyone fancy joining me on a 2ww thread?

That looks great!!

Name I think we've met before? Perhaps on a previous bus? I've been contemplating acupuncture myself actually. Can you tell me approx cost, how often you went and what it felt like?!

Lucinda15 · 08/01/2016 19:51

Massive congrats name Flowers that's wonderful to see! Might give acupuncture a go!

Hope ur ok celen. Thinking of u and really hoping u get a BFP! 11dpo is still early. My friend due in a few weeks didn't get her BFP until she was 2 days late! I try to keep that in mind but it's hard....

I am 10dpo - really no symptoms to give me any hints. I did have horrible pmt yest - rage tears the whole shebang. And today I'm totally fine. Which is not usual for my pmt. Normally only subsides when AF comes. And I do have cramping on and off. could me implantation cramps but I have been fooled before. So I'm just assuming AF is on her way and I'm already checking out the Feb bus to hop on to when it's time.

Although I won't admit defeat just yet and have plans to continue POAS till then lol.

Namethattune · 08/01/2016 20:17

Thanks ladies.

Celen I think we have met before, on the November bus maybe. With regards to acupuncture, I'd say it's important to go to someone who specialises in fertility. I went on the Zita West website to find an affiliated accupuncturist in my area. This is the link:

www.zitawest.com/network/

Prices vary quite a lot I think, but I live in Berkshire, and I paid £60 for the first appointment (mainly case history taking, but some treatment as well) and £40 for follow ups. I had 4 appointments, one a week, for 4 weeks, and then a month's break. I'm seeing her again on Thursday this week actually. As to what it felt like, some of the needles stung a bit going in, but a lot of them I couldn't even feel. HTH.

Hi guys, just wanted to put my tuppence in re acupuncture. I had 7 mcs, and felt at the end of my tether. I thought i would never be a mum. I read somewhere about acupuncture helping another multiple mc mum to be, and thought I'd give it a go. I picked someone who had great reviews, a Chinese doctor who practices in London and Bristol, and when I saw him he said straight away he could see why I couldn't maintain a pg. I was so inflamed around my reproductive organs due to a back problem. He said he would treat it for a couple of months then I should try again. I did this, and next pg I carried my little boy to full term! I'm going back to him now as had a couple of chemical pgs in the last 3 months (just waiting for af now from most recent one). So want a little bother or sister for my boy, and feel sure that using the needles again will make this possible... My Chinese doctor has a really good success rate too with women who can't conceive, for lots of different reasons. I would certainly recommend it as I don't think I'd have my amazing son now if it wasn't for going down this road , but it's not cheap... I'm not a tree hugger but I have been converted recently to a more alternative way of thinking... The nhs simply didn't have the means to help. Good luck all X X X

Celen · 09/01/2016 07:38

Thanks MissD and Name for that info Smile

It's yet another BFN here. I've had more odd spotting here overnight but I'm guessing it means fuck all nothing

I've had 15 months of this, 1 MC and 1 MMC - feeling really pissed off and wondering whether I should give up Angry It's soul destroying.

Lucinda15 · 09/01/2016 09:02

Celen I am feeling the same. Entering our 11th month of trying with 2 mc along the way, one of which was very traumatic. I am beginning to feel like I'm forcing something that is not to be. Getting a bit fed up.

MissD I'm really interested to hear your acupuncture story. I have had back surgery in the past and since then occasional back problems, once or twice a year. We bought a new mattress the month I fell pregnant - it was an awful mistake, it's a terrible mattress and my back has given me problems/seized up regularly since then. And i went on to have 2 mc's. I had a niggle that perhaps the bed wasn't helping but thought I was being paranoid! Perhaps there is something in it.

Anyway - I've located a good acupuncturist in my area and calling later today to arrange an appointment. And I have half convinced the OH to consider buying a new mattress.....(feeling like the crazy has got me!)

MissD1506 · 09/01/2016 10:36

Not crazy at all... I have a tempur cloud mattress and without it my back is terrible!! I've had 7 mcs in total, and guess I'll never know for sure if it's the needles or luck, but glad I did it... My Chinese doc has been in China for the last month, so not had treatment lately, and going through another failed pregnancy, but pinning my hopes to trying again with his help! Good luck, let me know what they say! X X X

MissD1506 · 09/01/2016 10:38

Celen, totally feeling your anguish... The fact that you've managed to get pregnant before is a good thing though... Perhaps have a couple of months off as we all need a break from it sometimes. Can you book a holiday and try to look after yourself a bit? X X X

Lucinda15 · 09/01/2016 17:36

MissD can I ask a random question about ur tempur? Does it Spring back? We had a fairly cheap memory foam a few years back and it moulded to our shape and eventually had permanent depressions, which became super uncomfy. I slept at a friends on a tempur mattress and it was heaven but have always been put off by the thought that eventually the depressions would never Spring back.

In other news...pmt rages on, just want the dreaded witch to arrive now so it will lift. Feel like a bear with a sore head and poor oh has had the brunt of it Angry

MissD1506 · 09/01/2016 19:44

Our tempur hasn't lost shape and we've had it about 3/4 years... I love it!

I'm a right grump today too!! Don't feel sorry for my oh tho as he was out drinking till the early hours last night and I have no sympathy! His timing is shit after my blood test yesterday!! X

Namethattune · 09/01/2016 21:35

I've suddenly thought, I have a handful of ic opks in my cupboard that I'm not going to use. Even if this bean doesn't stick I'm not going to want them, as the cause me obsesion induced stress. Would anybody like them? If anyone does then let me know, as I can put them in an envelope and stick them in the post.

LillianFullStop · 10/01/2016 00:37

Congratulations Name! That's one lovely bfp!

Hang in there Celen - had one mmc myself after not-not trying for 12 months. By "not-not trying" I mean not using contraception and just letting things happen instead of tracking fertile windows etc. But after mc took a 5 month break and ready to try again. Being pregnant made DH and I realise how much we were ready and really wanted this and losing the bean was devastating. So def trying again and a lot more obsessive serious about it this time around - hang in there Celen I believe there is a happy ending waiting for us!

LillianFullStop · 10/01/2016 00:39

Oh forgot to mention AF paid a visit today as scheduled so I'm bowing out of the 2ww - good luck to all still waiting!

Celen · 10/01/2016 08:25

Yes another bfn at 13dpo bollucks so I'll test til AF appears I guess but I'm not hopeful anymore Sad

I hate this.

Lucinda15 · 10/01/2016 08:32

Celen - I send a hug. It's rubbish Sad I have a bfn again this morning at 12 dpo. Pmt has been wretched - massive meltdown yesterday and feel so disappointed and frustrated. Large glass of wine (or 2) helped!

Celen · 10/01/2016 15:48

So just because I love to live in hope (Confused) I was googling about implantation and how long after you could get a bfp. I've got my third day of pink/light brown cm. And I found the below...

Timing of Implantation
A pregnancy test detects the presence of the pregnancy hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) either in the blood or in the urine. The hCG in the urine comes from the hCG in the blood after it was filtered through the kidney. After ovulation, the egg gets fertilized and travels through the fallopian tube toward the uterus. This travel takes an average of a week. Implantation, the attachment of the fertilized egg in the lining of the uterus, occurs on average about a week or later after ovulation/fertilization, but it can happen as early as six days and as late as 12 days after fertilization/ovulation.At the time of implantation the placenta starts making the pregnancy hormone hCG, which then enters the blood stream. How early pregnancy can be detected depends on the pregnancy hormone hcG which can be detected in the blood about three to four days after implantation.Urine hCG can be detected about two to three days after blood hCG can first be seen.Detection of hCG depends on timing of implantation, so hCG can normally be detected in the blood between nine and 16 days after ovulation (HPT: 12-19 days after ovulation)

So, to sum things up, some women may not experience implantation bleeding (if they experience it) until 12DPO.After that, the HCG hormone detected in early pregnancy tests wouldn't be able to be detected for another 5 days or so. This means that some women wouldn't get their BFP until 19DPO

I've had an MMC after seeing a heartbeat which isn't common, I believe it happens to only 1.5% of pregnant women. I've had a completely unsuccessful ERPC procedure which only occurs to 5% of women undergoing it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is unusual things do happen so screw it, I'm going to keep on hoping and POAS-ing til the witch bitch arrives Smile

Celen · 10/01/2016 18:18

What was I saying? Oh yes bloody AF has arrived Angry Angry Angry

Well, that's me finished for yet another poxy month. I think I'll go to the GP to see if they'll prescribe Clomid for me to see if that'll change anything.

Namethattune · 10/01/2016 19:12

Oh Celen I'm so sorry. How utterly miserable. You've had a really rough ride as well. Go and see your GP, and maybe have a month or try off trying. It sounds like you could do with a break from the associated stress.

OP posts:
Namethattune · 10/01/2016 19:13

That's supposed to say month or two!

OP posts:
Celen · 10/01/2016 19:28

Sounds pathetic but I don't know if I could take a break for a month or two MissD and Name. I honestly don't know how to relax about it and as I'll be 39 soon, I know I'd kick myself for missed opportunities. God I feel so blue Sad Everytime AF comes it's like a slap in the face. No one in my family understands because my mum even managed to get pregnant after being sterilised (Shock) and had 4 children and both my sisters were happily married young and had two kids each without any drama. I've only managed one and he took two years to arrive. It's just so unfair sometimes Sad

Sorry I'm ranting Sad Sad

Namethattune · 10/01/2016 19:32

It doesn't sound pathetic at all Celen. I know just what you mean. My gp told me to have a break from ttc for a couple of months (in December), and although my head totally agreed with her, that overwhelming drive to have a baby won, and I kept on trying. I'm going to have to go back to see her this week and tell her that I ignored her advice. Hmm, not looking forward to that! Try acupuncture instead then Celen. It'll help you relax as well as help with ttc.
