Anyone fancy joining me on a 2ww thread?

Technically I should be on the January bus, but as I've only just ovulated I only feel able to look ahead to a possible bfp now, and the Jan bus is already 10 pages long! I was reasonably active on the November bus, and did join the December one, but hardly posted, as I was convinced (rightly) that I had no chance of a bfp that month.

So, anyone fancy joining me for a 2ww thread??

Here are my stats:

Age: 36
TTC: #2
Cycle: #9
ETD: 10th Jan

Hello Lillian Smile

2ww = two week wait. The time between ovulation and when your period is usually due all time slows down during this time while you obsess manically over everything thinking it's a pregnancy symptom Grin

LillianFullStop · 03/01/2016 12:57

Hi Celen thanks for that - in that case I'm def within the 2WW, and I think I am definitely obsessing. I think I can feel stretching pains but surely it's too early for that?? I felt similar pains during my first pregnancy (ended in mc unfortunately) and one of my first signs before I even thought to POAS. But then it may all be wishful thinking and in my head hence the obsessing part... madness!

Need to last 8 more days - I have 3 CB tests in the bathroom and it is teasing me every day

birdboo · 03/01/2016 17:18

I have 2 days until I can test. So far my boobs have felt like rocks for almost a week, I've felt sick but not been sick (yet) and need to pee far more often than normal. Along with cramps. I look like I might burst out of my blouse.

Trying not to get my hopes up. My normal give away for af have been happening too. Even DH noticed that my hair turned into grease slick overnight which normally happen just before af shows. My normal give always are linked to endo so I'm confused what's what.

LillianFullStop · 03/01/2016 18:41

The 2 days will fly by birdboo - please keep us up to date I hope you have some good news. My AF is due on 11 so I have a full week to wait!

FlourishingMrs · 03/01/2016 18:56

Hi all,

Age:40
Ttc #3
Cycle 1 after MC and D&C 8 Dec took 8 months to conceive.
DPO well it's CD 27 since surgery but positive OPK since yesterday, was negative before.

Let's call it DPO1

Namethattune · 03/01/2016 19:21

Welcome Lillian and Flourish. Lillian I know what you mean about all the abbreviations. When I first started using MN I spent half my time looking them up, as I had no idea what everyone was talking about!

Birdboo that sounds confusing. How many dpo are you? Is af due in 2 days?

I'm feeling rubbish today. Irritable and angry and weepy. So I suspect I'm premenstrual and af is on her way. :-(

Evening, just popping over as in my tww, and going a little nuts! Tested early today (11dpo) and got a bfn and feeling v sorry for myself... Anyway here's the stats!

Age 42
7 mcs
1 beautiful ds 16 months
11dpo
Worried about my sanity as never before been so obsessive about ttc!!

LillianFullStop · 03/01/2016 21:59

Hi MrsD sorry to hear about your mcs - I hope it's good news for you this month. As you say it's early to test. I'm (trying) to hold out until this weekend. Holding on to my sanity until then too!

MissD1506 · 04/01/2016 07:26

Thanks Lillian, I'm bowing out this month after a night of af cramps and pink spotting this morning, so just waiting for the witch bitch to catch up with me on this depressing first day back to work... Lol... Hay ho, on to February and a nice glass of wine tonight Grin

hilzypop · 04/01/2016 12:04

Bowing out too Af caught meSad. Well theres always next month! Grin

Celen · 04/01/2016 12:16

I'm 7dpo and trying not to symptom spot...but I've had some "niggles" on the left side of my pelvic area Confused Not really pain, just some sort of feeling there sporadically confused Really hope it means something positive!

I may have to test tomorrow just because I'm an idiot who loves to live in hope Hmm

Celen · 04/01/2016 12:17

Man alive, apologies for the dodgy grammar in that first paragraph - I did go to school, I promise!! Blush

00Bubbles00 · 04/01/2016 12:58

ARGH I gave in and tested at 8dpo. BFN. Which I KNEW it would be but I am still sad! So silly! Have promised myself no more testing until Friday which is when Ovia tells me to!

Celen · 04/01/2016 14:39

That'll be me tomorrow Bubbles, I just can't help myself BlushGrin

birdboo · 04/01/2016 18:35

I'm out, AF came. I still feel really weird but I'm guessing that means I'm down to come down with something. I'm going to stop checking ovia for a week

MissD1506 · 04/01/2016 19:26

Just a quickie, I'm going to try opks for the first time next month... Any recommendations or advice as I think some of you may have used them before? Do you do it at the same time of day etc? Hmm

MissD1506 · 04/01/2016 19:27

Ps, gutted birdboo and hilzypop, but let's go for it next month!! My poor oh... He's start dreading ov week! X

Namethattune · 04/01/2016 19:33

MissD I find it's better to use them twice a day, as the peak can be over very quickly, so it's easy to miss it. I try to do one at lunchtime and one in the evening. And I've had a +ve at lunchtime, and then a -ve in the evening of the same day. I was using them for 8 months, and this is my first month deliberately without them, as they were resulting in stress and obsession on my part!

MissD1506 · 04/01/2016 19:51

Thanks namethattune Smile excuse my naivety but does this mean you need to try to dtd asap? I work with my dp but not sure he'd be happy about us sneaking off to the loo lol. I'm hoping I won't obsess over it (probably will BlushGrin) but would love to have an idea of when things happen as its been guess work so far.

Namethattune · 04/01/2016 20:26

When you get a +ve opk it means that an egg is likely to be released within the next 12-24 hours, so it's good to dtd asap once you get one. But some things (like stress or illness) can delay ovulation after you've had a +ve test, so it's no guarantee.

emanne · 04/01/2016 20:27

due 11th jan..... ovulation ended around 28/29th dec..... can't resist the urge to poas much more tww seems longer than ever!!! feel crappy though.... pain everywhere and peeing galore Grin hope its not just me that thinks every little thing is a symptom!!

Lucinda15 · 04/01/2016 20:28

So sorry AF arrived for u miss, hilzy and bird Sad it's rubbish! Hope ur all ok.

Celen that sounds super promising!! Those niggles were the first sign I was pregnant last time around!! Don't want to get your hopes up unnecessarily but I'm excited for u Grin good luck!!

I am now 6dpo and feeling absolutely nothing. No niggles no twinges. just....normal. Whatever that is!! Pretty sure we have missed the boat this month. Feeling a bit complacent and apathetic about the whole thing!! Groan.

MissD - fairly new to using opk's myself but as I understand it, they detect the leutenising hormone which is released 12-36 hrs BEFORE you ovulate. sperm can survive inside you for 3-5 days I think, so if you've had sex in the days before or on the day you get your positive opk you should still be fine...(I hope as that's all we managed this month!) So no need to rush off to the loos right away Wink

MissD1506 · 04/01/2016 20:41

Ah good, thanks lucinda Grin wonder if dtd will ever become exciting again??!!

Celen · 04/01/2016 20:42

Lucinda you're only 6dpo though, you can implant anywhere upto 12dpo so it's waaaaay too early to discount yourself yet lady! Smile It is therefore too early to have any symptoms yet.

Lucinda15 · 04/01/2016 20:47

MissD I am not sure....it's all becoming a bit too organised and scheduled!!

Celen - thanks so much for the vote of confidence!! So easy to convince myself it's hopeless!! Your message made me smile and re-cross my fingers for a BFP Grin Flowers
