Hi ladies do you/did you read your first response tests after the recommended ten mins?? It says this on the leaflet (I've only just realised this!)...

The test should be read as soon as possible after waiting the three minutes. A positive result will last for at least 48 hours. However, a negative result may not last and should not be read after 10 minutes.

I'm pretty sure when I've had faint positives before they've only shown up after the ten mins (10dpo) but the lines have got darker on the next test.
I thought I could see the faintest of lines on my test Thursday but so faint I think it's just an indent. I did a test today and again I can see a really faint line, maybe a little clearer than thurs. but again this is after the ten mins and it's so faint I can't really tell if it's pink or not. And I've become very good at seeing faint lines!!
I'm now 12dpo so if preg it should be a pretty clear line by now I think. The problem is do I continue with the meds or not!! Have been taking them a bit anyway but it's mainly the cyclogest that bothers me as I'm so terrified of messing up my cycle like before.
I don't think we can continue on this programme come September as I've timetabled workshops everyday for months so will be next to impossible to take time off for pre ovulation intralipids and would have been on the treatment for 1 year 8 months! So I don't wanna mess up the next few months.
Any thoughts on those really really faint lines after the ten mins??
Cheers xx

Drttc · 23/04/2016 12:36

Hi Billy,

At 12dpo I think the line would be a bit stronger and within the time frame. Also, I stopped my meds for two days when I got a BFN at 8dpo (silly I know), then resumed them at 10dpo when I got my BFP- no harm done!

Seekingmiracles · 23/04/2016 19:20

I'd stop the cyclogest if I were you billy, just in case. Especially if you don't want your cycle messed up. Test again tomorrow and see what happens within the time frame.
Hope it is a bfp for you,
It's so confusing - I'm sue our eyes start seeing things too! Good luck

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 23/04/2016 20:02

Hi billy, do you have any other brand of pregnancy test? I stopped using first response because they seemed to have indent lines and found the cheapie strip one's much better.

karryk · 24/04/2016 07:19

Hi Billy,

Sorry - I haven't used that brand before..I bought a Superdrug version last time and that was pretty clear-cut. I've got the first response this time (to be tried today!) so that'll be my first use.

I've gone from feeling hopeful to not hopeful :( I'm 9dpo now...I've had strange light cramps on and off all week. Then yesterday came some very light pinkish/orange discharge. It stopped only to resume this morning along with the cramps again...feels like my body is just fighting whatever is in there :(

Going to try the test anyway as it's day 10 of the prednisolone today so I'd like to stop taking it if I don't need to.

Meh! X

billy15 · 24/04/2016 07:21

Thanks ladies. Well there's a second line today and it turned up within the ten mins Smile Is darker than yesterday but still very faint for 13dpo so don't know what to think! Confused
After all these chemicals I'm trying so hard not to count my chickens and the faintness of the line is making me doubtful Sad and the frequency of preg paranoid that my body isn't being selectful enough! Be nice to be able to just enjoy these moments eh!!

billy15 · 24/04/2016 07:27

Hi karryk pinky discharge on 9dpo sounds positive to me!! Fingers crossed.
I've had implantation bleed on all my other 6 bfp but not this time so not sure what to make of that! It's all so confusing!

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 24/04/2016 09:53

karryk that could absolutely be a bit of implantation bleeding!

And billy a line is a line. You're bound to be petrified so I'll just whisper congratulations for now.

Fingers crossed for both of you! Smile

Seekingmiracles · 24/04/2016 10:21

My first response line was barely visible Billy and that was at 11dpo. Remember we are forced to test early. If it was faint at 14dpo i'd be slightly worried. But be cautiously optimistic at the moment SmileSmile
I didn't do any other tests after my faint line. I figured what would be would be. Keep testing wouldn't change the eventual outcome, only cause more anxiety. My advice would be to keep taking your meds, stay positive and see what the next few days brings. Fingers crossed for you.

And same to you karry, hopefully it's implantation!!

karryk · 24/04/2016 11:29

Sending lots of positive thoughts, Billy :)

Going to test first thing tomorrow now. For the moment I'm cheering myself up by demolishing a Lindt chocolate egg (kept back at Easter for emergency purposes!). I feel better already :P

Thanks Seeking and Snoopy, let's see what happens :) x

sunnyday01 · 24/04/2016 16:45

Billy, I didn't get a positive until my period was late by 4 days and had all negative test before that so think your an definitely be cautiously optimistic!

billy15 · 24/04/2016 17:19

Thanks ladies but I think that's my shortest bfp to date! I've started spotting but like period not implantation! And have the usual aches/cramps in back and legs SadSad
I don't understand why this keeps happening! It's the 7th mc now and the 4th on this treatment! Id hoped the intralips on day 17 would be the answer! Fed up

Jenbot78 · 24/04/2016 19:45

Annaif and karryk thanks for your responses...Don't seem to get notifications that there are new posts so it was a while ago you sent them. Really top advice. Feeling your frustrations with TSH Annaif, went through my own battle with the GP thinking that a TSH of 5 was just fine!! Quoted the NICE guidance for fertility and thyroid treatment: cks.nice.org.uk/hypothyroidism#!scenario:3 and he STILL disputed it!!! You really do have to be your own advocate in the world of endocrinology...Glad I found this board, you ladies know a lot of useful information :)

annaif · 24/04/2016 20:27

shit I am sorry this is happening Billy :(
To be honest, it may still be too early to tell either way, do you always get your AF bang on cd 29? I am keeping fingers crossed for you!
Do you take any progesterone during the second half of your cycle at all? I know that it's not part of Dr S's plan but the Coventry team use it a lot in cases of hyperfertility or when it's suspected that the body is not being selective enough on its own. Just a thought hon xx

karryk · 25/04/2016 07:09

Sorry, Billy - I can certainly share some of what you're feeling xx

Bfn for me this morning at 10dpo. Not even a shadow of a second line! The spotting seems to have stopped so Lord knows what that was about. Not due on my period for another 6/7 days ago so I'll keep half an eye out for any promising symptoms but I'm off the pred now as of today.

Wishing everyone a lovely week :)

karryk · 25/04/2016 07:11

Argh, typo....not sure where the 'ago' came from. I meant my period is due in 6/7 days ;)

karryk · 25/04/2016 08:00

Spoke too soon...just got into work to find a bit of strange mucus/blood stuff (sorry if tmi)

I wonder if this might be another chemical... Boo hiss.

Okay, time to distract myself with other things. Definitely the last update until something of note happens! X

billy15 · 25/04/2016 10:04

Hi anna af usually starts day 27 which was yesterday. The spotting stopped in the night but I've had a bit this morn too.
I've been taking cyclogest since about 8dpo. My boobs aren't as sore as they were and the pain I had yesterday and spotting is exactly like every other mc I've had. It literally feels like my body is attaching itself and rejecting something - I feel kinda poisoned!
Has anyone else experienced this when having a mc? I wonder if there's something else going on.
I shall test again tomorrow but feel like it's over Sad
karryk I still think it could be Inplantation bleeding for you and 10dpo is early for a positive test. Fingers crossed!

Drttc · 25/04/2016 11:27

Hi Billy :( I'm so sorry you're going through this. I always had chemicals! Four that I knew of and all different. The first felt like a healthy pregnancy (how cruel) until 6 weeks when my body, after having loads of symptoms for 2 weeks, suddenly and painfully got rid of baby :( The second was a true blue chemical! BFP the day AF was due, then two days later a BFN and AF started. The third dragged on with bleeding from BFP through to just under 6 weeks & finally BFN, and the 4th had NO bleeding or symptoms with a sudden agonizing miscarriage at 6 weeks (nothing on scan and had rubbish betas). I don't understand the science behind the variety- only the pain :(! The one thing I can say though is that I follow recurrent chemical pregnancy women closely (with many more than me) and see a lot of eventual success xx

Tumtimes1 · 25/04/2016 12:34

Oh no so sorry Billy how disappointing for you. I'm really sorry. I've only had one Chemical the rest were at 8/9 weeks so not much advice on recurrent chemicals but as DRTTC says she has seen lots of eventual success. This waiting game is so exhausting though isn't it. Sending you strength.

Hi to everyone else! Great news seeking on your nuchal results. So pleased for you.

I haven't been on here for a while, well I have been reading, but not posting. Latest with me is I am now 18+2 and have my 20 weeker next Thursday. They are also doing a heart scan on the baby too.

In other news I am a bit stressed as when I went to see my NHS consultant (he is a specialist in recurrent MC) I saw one of his team (as usual as he is far too busy!) and she said that they may decide to take me off the clexane injections at 28 weeks! I am like WTF! There better be a good reason for that!!!

On my last pregnancy that worked I was on the clexane all the way through to 38 weeks. So whats changed?? Her flippant comment (and his, as she asked my consultant) has made me worry and google like mad. This is my daughter they're dicing with!!! I just don't know how much power they have to take me off what I consider to be a VITAL part of my having a viable pregnancy. Just don't know how much rights I have on this.

xxxx

Tumtimes1 · 25/04/2016 12:42

Also just seen Karryk update too - sorry to read that lady. Sucks. x

cartoontrickster · 25/04/2016 14:53

Hi ladies
Hope its ok that I've stopped by, I had ds under Mr S treatment for v . High nk cells he is now two yrs old! I have just found out I'm pregnant again. I've emailed to see if they will see Me as a second time patient and what the procedure would be considering I'm already pregnant, just wondering if anyone had any experience of this. Thanks

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 25/04/2016 17:54

Oh karryk and billy, I'm sorry. Fingers crossed it is implantation bleeding. There are ladies who do spot and everything is ok, just really hope that's the case for both of you.

tumtimes that doesn't sound right. Why would you not be on blood thinners for the whole of this pregnancy when you were on them for your successful one? Was your previous pregnancy on the NHS? Would you still have a copy of your notes?
But great news getting this far!

Hi cartoon. Congratulations!!! I know if you search previous threads that freelancegirl has two sons on treatment. I'm still baking number one but when he discharged me dr s said if we wanted to try for number two his recommendation would be to do some of the tests again before pregnancy as some people see their condition improve and other people see it deteriorate. Sorry, not much help.

Drttc · 25/04/2016 18:04

Hi cartoon! Congrats! I do believe a few ladies have entered the thread saying they're already pregnant and Dr S has started them on treatment as soon as they saw him. I would just get through to him ASAP as I'm sure you're trying to do!

cartoontrickster · 25/04/2016 20:00

Thanks snoopy & drttc. I'd emailed initially to get a bit of info then by the end of the day louise had phoned and I'm booked for an intralipid on Wednesday. I had wondered if anyone finds things aren't so bad next time and maybe whether anyone has gone on to have a child without it. I was thinking of taking the risk but now that it's all sunk in a bit it was a bit of a scarey thought!
