How soon do you test?

Can anyone tell me how soon I can do a pregnancy test. My period is due in between 4-6 days time (cycle lengths vary).

I am one of those philosophical people and don't test, it would soon become obvious...
Seriously though if you absolutely MUST then I think from the day your period is due but I've never tested postive before 6 days after my MP date...

For some pregnancy tests, e.g. First Response, it is possible to get a positive result 10 days after ovulation, i.e. normally 4 days before your period is due. For my first pregnancy I didn't get a positive result until a week after my period was due, and so it can really vary.

I carried out my first pregnancy test on the day my period was due and it was negative. The next day I still hadn't started and I felt a bit weird so I bought a supermarket testing kit and hey presto it was postive. Now have a 16 month old baby girl!!

I did mine five days after my period was due, as it was late and i just knew i was pregnant. it came up very faint but definetly positive.

you can do a test anytime from 2 weeks from the last unprotected sex that you had. however i tested on the first day my period was due (and a few before as well as I got too over excited) and they were all negative. it didn't show positive until about 4 days after my period was due - it was a feint line as well, so in the end i used one of those digital ones which said for definite 'pregnant'! I was amazed!

I did my test today...12 DPO and the day my AF was due. It was positive!
