TTC after having Mirena Coil - How long until your period regulates

Hi everyone, My Husband and I are trying to conceive and I have had one period since it was taken out in October. Has anyone had any experience of conceiving after their Mirena Coil was taken out, and if so, how long did it take for a) Your periods to regulate as normal and b) to conceive?

Did you have periods when the Mirena was in place?

I conceived within 6 weeks of having my Mirena out but for the 2+ years my Mirens was in I still had tegular, monthly periods.

Apparently a women's fertility is supposed to return to normal once the Mirena is removed but I'm guessing that sways towards the women whose periods were never affected.

I had mine out at start of Sept this year . I didn't have a bleed at all after for 56 days.

I have had one 'normal' cycle since (last 23 days only though) and now on 2nd cycle but not sure I'm ovulating.

I have read SO much about after the coil and fertility and it seems totall random.

Some people conceive weeks after its taken out and some never do.

I am older though too and currently pretty p*ssed that all the info was that fertility returns to normal
After when clearly for many it doesn't. (And for lots it takes months to get any kind of regular cycle back)

And to clarify the above post - I believe it is a myth of if your periods carry on they will return fast. I had regular cycle whilst in it.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to reply.

I didn't have any periods whilst it was in and my second period came bang on time (I was so so surprised) Obviously no baby yet.

Bathlover - I found the exact same thing whilst trying to research as well. So random and no one pattern the same. I will keep my fingers crossed for your cycle to become normal ASAP.

Hi just thought I would post. Mirena out in June. I had no periods while coil was in but periods have been regular (a little too regular-every 23 days!) Since. I am ttc and currently on cycle 9! But there are loads of stories of people getting pg really quick so i think it varies my gp thinks it may take a while for lining to build up again! Let me know how you get on x
