Evap or Positive??

Hi everyone, I'm new to this just looking for some opinions!

I am currently a week late no af or pg symptoms besides very sore nipples which I don't actually get from af (Tends to be sore on sides of boobs)

I have taken many tests all bfn before I missed af as just had a feeling!

The last test I took was Saturday and it was just a basic one from Morrison's and nothing came up on the test for 5 mins so I put it in the drawer and forgot about it, well I checked it later just out of curiosity although I had been convinced it was a dud test as no lines had shown previous however now there were 2 visible lines, it was very faint but visible and light pink which leads me to believe it cant be an evap line? I don't want to get my hopes up and I will be posting a picture later on when home from work.

Just want to know if anyone had similar experience which resulted in a bfp??

Thanks
xxx

Yes I didn't see a line on a test and threw it away. Noticed several hours later in the bin that it had a very, very faint line on it. That very faint line is now my 15 month old DD.

However, I should caution that you shouldn't trust a test after the test time period has finished. I wouldn't worry about posting a picture of the old test but take a new test when you get home. HCG levels rise rapidly in early pregnancy so you should get a pretty clear result if you haven't tested since Saturday.

I'd just do another test if I were you.

Abby100xx · 07/12/2015 12:07

Hey,

I agree with both of you, I think I just wanted some advice before I took another one, I haven't got any shops near where I work so its driving me crazy having to wait! :( xx

I read something not long ago which explained how you can't actually get an evap line on a sealed test, because the wee can't evaporate. Also, even if you could it would be grey because the hormone has to be present to cause the colour change no matter how long ago you did it.
Based on that - if the line is the right colour for the test you probably are pregnant!

Somebody linked to it on a thread on here, it was quite interesting!

Abby100xx · 07/12/2015 12:45

Hi MilkTwoSugarsThanks, I actually did hear something similar before and it was a sealed test, I have had evaps before which sort of look either indented or white/grey so you sort of know straight away but this one defo had some colour!

:)

xx

I see a hint of a line......

Abby100xx · 08/12/2015 08:16

Not really sure what to think no signs of af arriving, week late and after I took that one I took another brand which came up negative! is it worth asking for bloodtest?

OP posts:
Lovelilies2 · 08/12/2015 08:34

That's a positive Grin

Lovelilies2 · 08/12/2015 08:35

A line is a line is a line. I don't know where to link but a while ago someone posted an article a chap had written basically saying 'evap' lines are a myth and some other technical chemistry stuff.

Abby100xx · 08/12/2015 08:36

I hope so! just unsure as to why I've had negatives after doing that one Sad x

I hope so! Grin I just don't want to get my hopes up too much x

That looks positive to me. :)

Thisismyfirsttime · 08/12/2015 22:32

If you're post AF perhaps try a digital test? If you can get one.

Lovelilies2 · 09/12/2015 08:35

Any updates?

Abby100xx · 09/12/2015 09:00

Update: I haven't tested anymore as i realised just how much I was spending and tbh when I have a test its hard to wait until the morning which might be why some were coming up negative, I've tried to book doctors as thought if I explained the 1 maybe positive and the rest negatives they may be able to do a bloodtest, have to wait till tomorrow now, thinking of getting a test to use in the morning though!

Just frustrating waiting Sad

maybebabybee · 09/12/2015 09:19

OP just a thought but I always got better test results with second morning urine...if I'd held it for a few hours and not had much to drink.

Abby100xx · 09/12/2015 09:38

I might have to try that then! As silly as it sounds I never really understood 'midstream' so maybe that's where im going wrong also! Grin

Abby100xx · 10/12/2015 11:23

UPDATE: went to the doctors today they took a test which straight away came up with a very faint line but as it was so faint and thin I have a blood test for tomorrow x

Abby100xx · 10/12/2015 14:03
