Sorry about your* loss too Have.*

It's really tough going from pregnant to grieving, I still feel very sad about mine but also feel lucky to have fallen pregnant easily before. Lots of mixed emotions, and AF doesn't help.

I was secretly hoping AF was some kind of implantation bleeding (silly I know) but it's in full flow this morning. CD2 today, at least this month should go by quickly!

Curlywurly4 · 10/12/2015 07:40

Evening Primrose Oil? Just guessing...

Pugmummy87 · 10/12/2015 16:05

Yes, sorry epo is Evening Primrose oil. It apparently helps to increase fertile cervical mucus.

MiniLop · 11/12/2015 19:38

Hi everyone, AF has just got me so I'm hopping on to the January bus.
My stats:
MiniLop
Age 27
TTC #2 (DS 10 months old)
Cycle 2
CD1
ETD 8th Jan

What's everyone else up to? Looks quiet on this bus! Who's next to POAS? I'm off to order some OPKs, I ran out last month and didn't want to order more in case I didn't need them (wishful thinking!)

mamaneedsamojito · 11/12/2015 20:10

Hi mini . I'm TTC #2 as well, cycle 3. I conceived on cycle 1 last time so am finding the TTC rollercoaster a whole new experience. AF is next due around 4/5th Jan (cycles vary though so that's a guess). I'm waiting for my EWCM now but it'll probably be a few days yet. In the meantime - prosecco and coffee for me!

wellthatdidntgotoplan · 11/12/2015 20:49

Just had the slightly surreal experience of being pleased by a negative pregnancy test. Thought I'd better make sure that all the hormones or whatever from my stillbirth were out of my system before we started ttc next week. Bittersweet - glad that we are good to start but so sad that she is gone. I'm on cd7 now - I think! Cycle still wierd

MiniLop · 11/12/2015 21:00

Mama I recognise you from a previous bus, hi! I also conceived on the first month with DS, so I didn't really get a chance to track my cycles last time. Feels weird to be able to properly this time!
WellThat glad to hear you are (physically) ready to get going again. Sorry to hear about your stillbirth Thanks next time you get a positive test should be a happy time then.

Sodasoda · 12/12/2015 00:24

Hello new people! I guess it is a bit quiet at the moment on this bus but not a huge amount to report really. I'm CD8 so just... Waiting....

wellthat what an awful time for you. I just don't have the right words.

Hope everyone has something nice planned this weekend. I'm looking forward to a bit of Christmas shopping xx

Curlywurly4 · 12/12/2015 10:13

Very surreal Well, hope your doing ok. Thanks

Not much to report here either. Only CD 4 so feels like a long way to go. Has anyone else given up caffeine?

wellthatdidntgotoplan · 12/12/2015 10:35

Morning all, I've decided that I'm actually on cd3 not 7, I think the first few days were just spotting. I think. I'd forgotten how complicated it seems to be - with me at least! Curly wurly, I've sort of given up caffeine. I'm on decaff tea and the occasional coffee or coke. I did the same last time and I don't think it helped really. How are you doing?

Annarose2014 · 12/12/2015 10:44

Morning all, I think I should hop on as its not going so well and I think I need a bit of cheerleading as AF arrived this morning.

Trying since Sept and I really thought this was it! I got a positive OPK and we were shagging EOD. So quite glum!

DS was conceived about 5 mins after I got my Mirena removed but am starting to think that it was a fluke caused by the perfect hormonal cocktail the Mirena produced.

This month I got blood tests and my progesterone isn't high enough. So now I'm contemplating having to be referred for progesterone suppositories or similar. Ugh!

wellthatdidntgotoplan · 12/12/2015 11:05

Oh annarose it's just rubbish isn't it? It must seem so much worse when it was so easy the first time round

Curlywurly4 · 12/12/2015 11:39

Welcome Anna sorry AF arrived. I suspect I have a progesterone issue too as my luteal phase is only 7-10 days. Did the GP do the bloods?

Feeling a bit flat today but have a full day of social stuff planned so sure I'll perk up later. Nice to have some company on the bus Smile

mamaneedsamojito · 12/12/2015 14:58

Ladies, I just had a HUGE glass of white wine lunch which I fully recommend. We might as well take advantage of party season while we still can. I'm on CD8 now and tapping my fingers.... Come on EWCM! ( it will probably be another 5+ days away though).

Annarose2014 · 12/12/2015 18:49

Yes they were 12.6 & They're meant to be 30.

What I suspect happened is that the +opk showed the pre-ov hormonal surge......but then the actual ovulation never followed.

GP told me on the phone just to keep on with what we're doing, but I'll be 41 in a couple of months so I don't feel like I have a huge amount of time to just cross fingers & hope I'll ovulate each month!

Should I press for more help? Does anyone know what the GP can prescribe without a referral? That'd take months.

goldenpineapple · 12/12/2015 19:12

Hello, can I hop onboard too? Just got AF this morning. Absolutely gutted as I was convinced, utterly convinced I was pg. Isn't is crazy what our bodies and minds can get up to whilst ttc?!

Just ordered some OPKs - who uses them and would you recommend - do you think it makes it less or more stressful? Are posh ones better than cheap ones?! I'm a big worrier, used to suffer badly with anxiety - and this ttc stuff is really triggering it again - I'm only on my 4th cycle and I already feel pretty bonkers.

MiniLop · 12/12/2015 20:01

Sorry to hear AF got you golden Thanks I have been using the cheapest OPKs that I could get from eBay. I was taking one every couple of days for about a month while I was waiting for my first AF after having DS (once I stopped breastfeeding). I got 2 days of really strong positive readings. 2 weeks later AF arrived! So they do work for me. DH and I don't have a very high sex drive so makes it easier for us (me) so know when we really MUST dtd. Fx this is our month!

goldenpineapple · 12/12/2015 20:50

Thanks mini. I'm glad this forum is here, it's nice to not feel so alone with feeling these big feelings. I will have a go with the cheap OPKs, I'd never even heard of them til I came on here a couple of days ago! Agree it's good to know exactly when to dtd, although it can feel like added pressure. Last month we just tried to go with every other day, but it does start to feel like a chore doesn't it?! Anyway, yes fingers and toes crossed for all of us for luck in 2016!

Sodasoda · 12/12/2015 21:03

Sorry AF got you golden. I'm a natural worrier / obsesser as well and I find OPKs really useful. I've got a clear blue advanced fertility monitor so I use that too - useful for giving me 'high' days as well as peak days. I use cheap OPKs (you can get loads from Amazon for about a fiver) and I use them alongside the monitor and i get the same results so the cheap ones work fine. I find using OPKs helps calm me rather than stress me. Hope that helps!

Annarose2014 · 12/12/2015 21:17

Cheapie ones from amazon here too. I do find them v useful to know your cycle better.

goldenpineapple · 12/12/2015 21:33

Thanks soda. In a way its the uncertainty thats the worst, so its almost a relief that AF is here - although obvs would a million times rather be pg. Its the waiting and not knowing and hoping. Good to know from a fellow worrier that you find OPKs useful. I too tend to gather as much information on something as possible to try and make me feel better - just not sure it always works! I'm worried about getting too obsessed, although frankly I think I've already crossed that line. Oh dear - worrying about worrying....

Anna thanks for another vote for amazon cheapies. Temptation to buy more expensive ones in hope of better result resisted!

I have another question - do you count spotting as CD1? I have fairly light periods and always have brown spotting for a day or so before a proper flow. Which always gives me hope that maybe its not AF. But it always is.

Hope you're all having lovely weekends and beginning to feel festive.

Sodasoda · 12/12/2015 22:33

golden - pretty sure you count cd1 as proper AF flow. I also have pretty light periods. The main reason I find OPKs reassuring (and temping - do you do that? That's been the best thing for me) is that I then know when to expect AF and when to do pregnancy tests. At first I was obsessing that I was 'late' because I was CD29 but actually I probably didn't ovulate on CD14 that month so I had a longer cycle etc. Last month I ovulated on CD19 and if I didn't know that I would have been really excited and testing loads and getting bfn but as it was AF arrived bang on time the bitch!! I have a 14 day luteal phase. Basically as a worrier / planner / basket case I find it helpful to know I'm doing all I can to try and help things along.

Rememberallball · 12/12/2015 22:54

Sorry not been around much, life has a tendency of getting in the way at times. I'm CD26 today so expecting arrival of af at any time. No point in poas this month as I had HyCoSy on Nov 30th, so no dtd until after that meaning I probably missed my ov window - unless I ov'd 7-10 days late (which I don't think I did)!!
Strange to know I'm not waiting for the lack of af this month but hoping it arrives so we can start planning next cycle!!

firstgo1984 · 12/12/2015 23:04

Another vote for cheap opk sticks. When I actually got a positive it was veru obvious. Confirmed it with a clear blue digital too (which I had previously spent a fortune on in my 60+ cycle I am on!)

kittyvet · 13/12/2015 07:18

Just fell off the Dec bus with a low temp. Had our Christmas party last night and didn't touch a drop! Typical!!!! I am TTC no 2. I have a 14mth DD and this will by cycle 2 trying.
