Thanks for all the brooking but I don't think there's much hope but we're kind of ok. I think i'm going to request some miscarriage testing before our next fet (if we have any left). I've been wondering if our 2nd Fet last year was also a chemical pregnancy, I didn't think it at the time as I was on progesterone. But AF didn't appear until 19dpo, 3 days after I stopped the progesterone, I only had negstive tests but I didn't have any frer. Progesterone has never had that effect before or since, the last fresh cycle I had no progesterone due to them all being frozen but I still didn't start bleeding until about 12/13 dpec, very similar to what I manage with progesterone.
Anyway, I'm working from home tomorrow and maybe a few more days, so it will be easier to talk to the clinic.

Imps9 · 31/01/2016 15:10

Aaah Beedles it's so so rubbish, but all you can do is pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep going. Can you and Mr B book a nice thing to do, or would that not really help?

Good idea re: RMC testing. Have you had any tests previously? And what about Mr B's swimmers - can you do a DNA test on those? FRER are a blessing and a curse aren't they what with showing up losses that back in the day no one would have realised they'd had.

You are closer then you ever have been to your BFP and tomorrow you will be closer still.

Imps9 · 01/02/2016 07:06

Morning lovelies how are you?

Has the worst of the cramping finished yet Beedles? I hope so. Have you PIAR for the clinic?

Flashing smiley face here so the Sexy Time ban is now in effect until the end of the week.

keepitgoing · 01/02/2016 07:35

Thinking of you beedle. It totally sucks, and so unfair, I'm so sorry. RMC tests sounds like a plan before doing anything else.

imps how many more cycles do you have to wait before you start IMSI?

Imps9 · 01/02/2016 08:07

I've got this cycle, then scratch cycle, then we're off!

Imps9 · 01/02/2016 08:22

No, wait I've got this cycle, then the next cycle, then the scratch cycle an then we're off. Could have started sooner but we're on holiday the first two weeks of March so it wouldn't have been possible.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 01/02/2016 08:23

yes I have PIAR ths morning,BFN as expected. Just waiting for the clinic to call, I wish they'd hurry up! Feeling kind of OK now, just want to make a plan of what to do next.

Imps9 · 01/02/2016 08:34

A plan is exactly what one needs in this situation Beedles. Your clinic seems pretty switched on so there shouldn't be any unnecessary waiting around. Glad your WFH today - it's much easier to research/talk to the clinic when you're not in the office.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 01/02/2016 10:30

Beedles so sorry you didn't get a sticky BFP. This whole ttc is shit.

I did a frer yesterday, only they faintest of faint lines if you shine a light on it. So either tested way too early at 10dpo or it's going to be another chemical. So hoping that if I take another test tomorrow or the day after that there is a proper dark line as I feel so incredibly pregnant but chances are more that it will be another chemical, feeling pissed off with my body.

keepitgoing · 01/02/2016 11:19

loopy 10dpo is waaaay too early!

beedle hope they can help you come up with a plan

BeedlesPineNeedles · 01/02/2016 11:57

Sounds like that was very early loopy but I really hope that all the drugs make the difference this time

Still no phone call, grrrrrrr Will call them myself if they don't ring in the next hour

BeedlesPineNeedles · 01/02/2016 12:36

finally they rang. We were part of the control group so we have no idea if the embryos are any good or not. They won't do rmc testing as none of my pregnancies have lasted long enough to be seen with an ultrasound- even though we would be paying for the testing. Aparently they don't Count

we can't pay for PGS ourselves and we can't be included in the study again if we do Another fresh cycle. all rather crap really.

we are going straight into Another FET as we have 3 left, so I have an dildocam booked for next week on my birthday - yippeee

I Think perhaps we should look into a trip to London for some testing

keepitgoing · 01/02/2016 13:10

Oh beedle! Why can't you pay for pgs yourself?? That's bollocks. I'm glad you have another 3 embryos though. I wonder if you could have a virtual consultation with anyone re RMC, or as you say London could be good. You could also consider a scratch, though maybe that only helps with implantation in the first place. Except loopy has had one so some must think it helps them get properly bedded in.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 01/02/2016 13:21

I did some googling, PGS isn't licensed in sweden apart from in studies like we were in. But the clinic offer karotyping, so what happens if they find that the man or woman does have something wrong, the only option would be donor eggs/sperm. But we can't even have blood tests and karotyping because they don't Think there's a problem. I Think I'll try to speak to the dr when I have my dildocam, I was only speaking to the nurse today. I feel gutted again now, its doesn't feel like we have a way forward at all.

At least I'm at home and its snowing again so everywhere is starting to look nice and white

keepitgoing · 01/02/2016 13:30

Oh I thought it might be because you might mess up their study. Are they not being very helpful? Do they really think it's just been bad luck? How many embryos have you had put back in total?
Could you try cycling abroad? Oh no, silly idea as you're paid up

It's fucking horrible, of course you feel down lovely.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 01/02/2016 13:54

if we discount the 1st attempt where we only had 2 crap embryos, we had 3 then 4 two-day embryos so 7 in total in 5 transfers and now 1 5-day embryo. and from those we've had 2 possibly 3 implant all of which were FET. presumably if we had taken those 7 2-day embryos to blasto, only 2 or 3 of them would have been expected to make it anyway. So i don't Think implantation is such a problem, we either make crap embryos or there's something else. it seems unlikely that all of the previous embryos were genetically "wrong"

keepitgoing · 01/02/2016 14:22

Yes it seems unlikely the embryos were all abnormal. It's a reasonably good implantation rate then isn't it, they're just not sticking. I would push for sth additional. Has your progesterone ever been tested, I know your FETs have been natural, I wonder if it drops?
Or clexane?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 01/02/2016 14:47

I had extra progesterone with fets 2 & 3 so that didn't make any difference, I still have quite a lot left so very tempted to self medicate from 7dpo on this attempt. I'm also very interested in going to the Warwick clinic. ut I Think you need to wait a couple of cycles Before having the tests (i'm feeling rather impatient at the moment) I could probably persuade the clinic to prescribe me more progesterone but I don't Think I have a hope with anything else. I Think I need imps dr who is willing to try stuff without the testing!

Is Warwick where you went loopy?

Imps9 · 01/02/2016 14:48

Can you skip the RMC tests and just have the relevant medication for the next round (eg clexane, intralipids, aspirin etc)? And can you come to the UK for a scratch at least if they don't do scratches in Sweden?

Imps9 · 01/02/2016 14:54

Is there any way you could sign up for the RMC research at Tommy's? The webchat with Prof Quenby that you linked to had details of it but can't remember if you can sign up.

I don't think Loops waited for 3 cycles before going to Coventry - deffo give them a call to discuss. If you Google "Quenby implantation clinic" you will find the deets.

keepitgoing · 01/02/2016 15:12

I have extra cyclogest bum bullets I can send (am on a different brand this time, utrogestan) if this works out I also have an unopened menopur 600 and a cetrotide but you'll both be preg before I'm 20 weeks anyway

Yes, contact some people to chat, that'd be helpful. They seem quite cautious where you are eg your other clinical only doing day 2 transfers

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 01/02/2016 20:50

Beedles I went to the Implantation Clinic which is at university hospital in Coventry. Prof Quenby runs it with Prof Brosens. They charge a one off £360 fee. You only need to have had one miscarriage to be able to self refer yourself to them. You need to have 2 AF's after a mc, then call them when you ovulate in the next cycle and visit them 7-10 dpo. They only run the clinic on Monday and Friday afternoons. They do the scratch and biopsy and then you get an email approx 4 weeks later, and then you have a phone consultation the following week. If you can't get prescriptions where you are then they can issue prescriptions to you but they will be hospital ones so you have to go back to collect them. (Someone flew back from Spain a few months back as she was diagnosed with high NK and so they did a scan for her to confirm location and gave her all the meds, she's over half way through her pregnancy now I think). Their standard protocol is progesterone twice daily from 7 dpo (usually 200mg each dose, but sometimes 400mg) and then if get a BFP, continue progesterone, often at 400mg twice daily, and then clexane from location scan. If high NK then pred as well.

Re the 2 cycles, technically they say chemical pregnancies count. However I had been told that I shouldn't be testing until my period was late by my NHS consultant. So I shouldn't have known I was pregnant since July. I went in November and they said they got a really good sample from my lining so clearly a chemical pregnancy doesn't really affect things.

Prof Q will be doing the Tommys research from April onwards but she said that it won't involve NK testing, so that would be another potential avenue to look at. It is free and will also be based at Coventry.

Coventry don't suggest intralipids as far as I know. I think it's just Shehata who does that? But that's blood NK cells rather than uterine ones. Shehata also suggests IVIG to some people, someone on the rmc thread has paid a small fortune for his tests and as a result spent a second fortune on several rounds of IVIG for her last BFP and is about 16 weeks pregnant at the moment.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 01/02/2016 20:53

Oh and Coventry don't prescribe aspirin as they say research has shown that for the majority of people it can do more harm than good, although there may be some people who should take it for particular reasons, but shouldn't be seen as a just in case medication any more.

There are loads more tests but I know little about them, other than there see some called Chicago tests and some that are sent to Athens.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 02/02/2016 07:46

Thanks loopy that's really helpful, a bit of a pain if I have to fly back again to get the prescription. Remind me when your last chemical pregnancy was before November? According to the clinic I shouldn't have tested Before otd, so they certainly don't think that it counts!

I Think we'll go ahead with this FET but with progesterone and then if it doesn't work try for trip to Coventry after that.

the bleeding has already slowed right down so I'm back in the office today

keep hopefully I'll manage to persuade the clinic to prescribe me progesterone, (I probably have enough to get me to 7 weeks anyway!) so I probably don't need any of yours. And I hardly pay anything for the rest of my drugs, so maybe you can donate them to imps

keepitgoing · 02/02/2016 08:25

But it's odd beedle because my clinic have otd on 14dpec so would count it... Of course I won't know if anything is wrong till my scan as all the progesterone would be stopping any bleeding

loopy what testing news?

I went to bed at 9pm last night - feel sooo much better today!
