ovulating advice

Hi everyone, TTC#2, only our first month trying. With DC1 it happened so quickly I didn't even have a chance to think about ovulation, etc. But I am now, everywhere I read says something different about it. It's 6 days from start of period, 14 days, etc. Does anyone know when it actually is? also how soon does implantation happen after ovulation? I had some cramping last night and this morning and period not due for 11 days! TIA

Depends on the length of your cycle but as an average it occurs 14 days BEFORE your next period is due, so for a 28 day cycle it would occur on day 14 counting from the first day of your last period and in a 36 day cycle would occur on day 22 of your cycle.

As a guide it is suggested that you start getting jiggy with it on count day 8 (where day 1 is the first day of your period) until you know you've ovulated.

I found my cervical mucus the most reliable indicator of ovulation. I'd get egg white cervical mucus on day 11 of a 28 day cycle, go 'dry' on day 14, have one more day of egg white on day 15 then dry until my period arrived. Except the month I conceived, where I went dry for a week before my cm became like Niagara falls (sorry!) and got a bfp. I think I ovulated on day 14 as I should but we DTD on day 11 and I got pregnant.

Also implantation happened 6 - 12 days after ovulation. Mine happened on count day 24 (I had implantation bleeding which is how I know).

Thank you junosmum hat makes more sense. So I will have ovulated 3 days ago and dtd last night and 3 days ago so fingers crossed!

Yep, you need to get jiggy with it BEFORE ovulation, the day of ovulation and the days after are pretty worthless TBH. Good luck.
