No Period After Coming Off Contraceptive - Trying For Baby

Wondering if anyone can shed some light on this as I'm starting to get a little frustrated and worried. I came off the implant on August 24 this year after having two fitted in an almost six year period. It's now 9th November (approaching the three month mark) and I've still not had a period. Around a week ago I had a few days of barely there spotting and that was it. I've taken three pregnancy tests over the space of these almost three months (just incase) and all three came back negative, so I'm pretty certain there's no baby. I'm starting to get a little worried that having the implant in for such time has affected my ability to have a baby. If anyone has had or been in the same situation, a little message would be great. Almost all women's menstrual cycles return within nine months of stopping contraceptives.

Although, my periods returned right away I didn't start ovulating again until about the nine month mark when I came off cerazette. Give your body time to adjust, hopefully they will return soon.

After the implant my period was straight away however i bled 3/4 weeks with it. I came off the mini pill beginning of july and first period was 23rd october. I think its normal for it to take a while but you could always get checked out by gp?

I came of the pill in November last year and I have only ovulated once in that time, therefore only had one natural period (although I am on 150mg clomid, so it wasn't totally natural!) I went to my GP in January after not having any periods and was prescribed progesterone pills (norethisterone) to induce a bleed. When this didn't kick start things, I was referred to the specialists and have had several investigations, all of which have come back as 'normal.'

I totally understand your frustration. It's a kind of limbo that is almost unbearable at times. I have a follow-up appointment in Jan. The 150mg of clomid has only worked once for me and not the second time I took it x x

I came off the pill in may 10. No period till Oct 11. Sorry, sometimes it does take a long time.

Very similar to Eskimo - I came off pill in Oct 14, and haven't ovulated naturally or had a period since then. I'm now on my second cycle of 50mg clomid (first cycle didn't work). If I was you I'd go to GP, tell them the story and ask them to give you Provera or Norethisterone to try and induce a bleed. It is fairly mild on your body, and in some women it kickstarts their periods. And if it doesn't work and a year later you're like me, at least you'll have recorded your concerns early so you'll be in the NHS queue for help.

I'm in a similar position I came off the pill end of Sept, had my normal WB and haven't had a period since!! It's such a stressful time as I never expected to have an problems especially since you hear stories of people missing one pill and falling pregnant!!!

I've booked a telephone consultation with my GP on Thurs but I really feel he will just tell me I need to wait longer.

Any tips on how to de-stress?! X
