After some advice here on behalf of my wife. She is now 3 weeks late, we tried one of them Poundland kits last weekend it came back negative, she was still having all the cramps etc as if her P was about to start up until last week then they just stopped. I ordered some of them strips of Amazon, we tried 2 of them this week, first thing in the mornings. Both came back negative.

She stopped taking the pill after her monthly course was finished 3 weeks ago and that kick starts everything but as I say nothing happened, cramps stopped and no sign of anything.

I'm not entirely sure how this happened as we only did it twice since her last P, the first she was talking the pill, the second was when she stopped as she new her P was due.

Any ideas?

If she only stopped the contraceptive pill 3 weeks ago it can take time for her cycles to regulate and settle down. The first 'period' you have stop the pill is not a normal one but is a withdrawal bleed from the dropping hormone levels.

If she is getting negative pregnancy tests she probably isn't pregnant yet. However, if she ovulated this cycle, it could be too soon to pick up hcg as you don't produce it until after implantation which happens at least 6 days post ovulation and ovulation usually happens about day 8-14 of your cycle.

Yeah coming off the pill doesn't always lead to an immediate withdrawal bleed (mine was 28 days after my last pill) I then had a regular 28 day cycle.
