Getting pregnant after contraceptive injection

Hello All,

I'm new here but just wanted to ask if anyone has/had any troubles trying to conceive since they have came off the contraceptive injection. My last injection was due in January this year but I didn't go for it as me and my partner decided we wanted to start trying for a baby. My periods only returned 2 months ago but now I'm just worried its going to take a lot longer than we were expecting.

Any suggestions or advice is welcome and I really want to know if it's taken anyone else a long time??

That's great that your periods have already returned - mine didn't until 18 months after I stopped the injection, I was so angry that I wasn't warned that that was a possibility!

Anyway I fell pregnant 6 months after that, so 2 years in all. Good luck!

I conceived dd about a year after my last depo. My af took 6 months to come back and we waited to try until then because of other issues. I conceived dd really quickly.

I had my first AF after four weeks. Six months later we are still TTC #2. I fell pregnant very easily the first time round.

Can't help but think it's long term BC causing my issues...

I got AF 3 months after my last injection, its been 15months and still no BFP, i actually know someone who was infertile for 22 years after having the injection for 6years, so im super stressed about it all which doesnt help

I was on the Depo injection for 8 years and then fell pregnant with DD within 2 months. Restarted the Depo after having DD, I was on it for another year before stopping. Fell pregnant with DS on the first attempt. AF has always returned within a week or two of the Depo expiring.

2years of TTC and started fertility investigations before we conceived after DEPO. Bloody horrible injection!

2+ years of contraceptive free sex before going for all the fertility investigations. Found out I don't ovulate anymore. Offered clomid, however, put it on hold due to other life issues at the time.

Further 2 years has passed and still no spontaneous pregnancy, come to the conclusion that I'll need the clomid.

Awful awful drug, careful considered should be taken before use.

Depo is the devil!
I was on it for about 10 years
af reappeared after 9 months of it "wearing off"
Mad cycles, all over the place for a year
10 months after af until I ovulated
Ovulated 5 times
Had bfp August 2015
Had a mc at 5 weeks on August bank holiday Monday
Now not ovulating again
We are in our 27th month of ttc and no closer to the goal
We are now looking at going private for IVF in feb to Czech Republic as the nhs are total shits and keep delaying any help. Wish I'd bitten the bullet earlier and done IVF years ago. Or had clomid to help with ovulation. The emotional turmoil gets harder and harder with every month of failure.

Conceived 2.5 years after last Depo, couldn't ovulate by myself. Clomid made me ovulate, and I got pregnant on my fourth month of clomid. Depo is a nightmare, bloody awful stuff.

I just thought id update as i posted before but there is hope!
Im 15months post depo and i got my BFP this morning! Its been a long 15months but i guess its only 3months over the 'norm'!

I was on depo for four years and it took me 4 years to conceive after stopping the depo despite my periods returning within 6 months. My first two children were conceived within 2 months of me coming off the pill.
