Symptoms 5 days after last period?

So I'm completely new to all this, I've been with my partner for 5 years and have never really used protection (always assumed I couldn't concieve), because of this we have never really tried as it hurts to get my hopes up. However! This month, I started getting very painful and swollen boobs around 5 days after my period (which only lasted 2 days and was a week early) and still now after 15 days of painful boobs they are getting bigger and vein-y? I'm not due my next period til the 6th but I really can't help but let my mind wander.... So could anybody tell me if this has happened to them? Thanks :)

All sorts of things can happen as we are all different - make an appointment to see your GP and sort this out!

A light period a week earlier than expected could possibly be implantation bleeding, which is when the fertilized egg implants in the uterus wall. Might be worth taking a pregnancy test?

Thanks for replying, I've taken a test and it came back negative :/ not sure if its too early for a test though? I've had blood tests done to see if I have polycystic ovaries but I had the all clear so I'm now waiting for results to determine if something else is wrong, just think I got my hopes up when I started getting symptoms of pregnancy, thank you both very much.
