Hello all,

Just looking for some advice.

My partner and I have been together for almost 4 years and have been trying to conceive for around 3 months now.

My periods are usually every 28 days to the dot but this month I was a couple of days late. I usually bleed for around 5 days but this month only 2 & very light spotting a couple of days after this.

Because of this unusual bleeding I have taken a test which has an extremely faint line but is definitely there. (See image)

Having read a thread on here I have just taken a clear blue digital which stated "not pregnant".

My head is all over the place.

I would be so so great full for any advice.

Thank you in advance,

BabyBlessing

x

Yes! Can easily see the line.

SagaNorensLeatherface · 23/10/2015 14:30

Oh I should have read the whole OP. Blush Did you read the result in the right time-frame?

Did you use first morning wee on the Clear Blue? Maybe your wee wasn't potent enough for the 2nd test?

BabyBlessing · 23/10/2015 14:32

The test pictured was first morning urine within 5 mins whereas the Clearblue was taken around 2pm? Thank you so much for your reply xx

It could be that then...if you're very early days then your wee might have been too diluted for the Clear Blue. I got a negative test one day after my period because I tested in the afternoon...thought I wasn't pregnant, even went out drink the night after!

Then period still didn't come so I waited a few days and tested first thing in the morning and it was positive! Do you have another test you can do in the morning?

BabyBlessing · 23/10/2015 14:37

No but I will certainly go out and get one! Going to say a prayer Blush

Thanks again x

No problem, I hope you get the result you're after! The first one definitely has a line and you've read it in the right time frame and there are rarely ever false positives, so I'd say it looks promising! Flowers

SweepTheHalls · 23/10/2015 14:41

Looks positive to me, but I would do a First Response with Fmu tomorrow to be sure Flowers

gingerboy1912 · 23/10/2015 14:42

Hi op the photo you have posted is a positive test might be faint but it's a positive.

BabyBlessing · 23/10/2015 14:54

Thank you everyone! Just needed some reassurance I wasn't going mad, think I'll wait a couple of days and take a digital test first thing in the morning.

Will keep you posted xx

don't take digital! they are such a waste of money if its negative...

your best getting a frer or one with red dye. I always got negatives with clearblue but positives with frer

BabyBlessing · 23/10/2015 16:51

Sorry to come across as naive but what does "frer" mean? New to this page ??

Thank you x

FRER - first response test

That's a line. The Clearblue digital tests are not as sensitive as FRERs or IC (Internet cheapies/dip strips) so if it's very early days of pregnancy it will show Not Pregnant until the hormone builds up. Maybe try another CB in a few days? And definitely test with fmu (first morning urine).

HTH (hope that helps) & congrats! Smile

JellyBaby26 · 23/10/2015 16:57

first response early result

KitKat1985 · 23/10/2015 17:42

I'd say positive but very early so that would be why the clear blue can't pick it up yet. Try again in a day or two?

BabyBlessing · 23/10/2015 19:49

Thank you so much everyone! Xx

I had a very similar faint line to you which all my friends told me wasn't a positive.. Took a few more tests over the next few days and the line kept getting darker and darker and we are now expecting twins Grin! Clear blue didn't give me a positive result until I was a week late. Good luck Thanks

Shemozzle · 23/10/2015 20:28

Yes, that's a positive. Tests vary between about 5-20 miu/ml. That's the level of hcg they can detect. The cheapie strip sticks are usually 5-10 miu/ml depending on brand (it will say on the box. The clear blue tend to be about 20. So the cheapy ones are much more sensitive. I've no idea why clear blue is everyone's go to, it's purely based on their advertising campaign. The bleed you have will have been an implantation bleed. Unless you were due over a week ago I'd say you were definitely pregnant, congratulations! Btw, the most sensitive digitals are boots own brand. (Or they used to be when I last checked)

Celen · 23/10/2015 21:21

Please post your next test tomorrow to see how you're getting on?

Babyfeverdrivingmecrazy · 23/10/2015 22:29

Mine looked exactly the same, I'm nearly 9 weeks now. Good luck x

BabyBlessing · 14/11/2015 19:23

Hello all, turns out I wasn't pregnant after all. However this month I am 4 days late. Today I had two BFP & took a Clear Blue Digital. Here is the result.

On top of the world right now! Grin xxxx

Congratulations, really happy news on an otherwise hopeless day

Jw35 · 16/11/2015 14:59

Congratulations! I suspect the other one was a chemical pregnancy (very early mc) I've had 3 so know they're very common x
