Hi- we are TTC again after two failed preg- one in Sept and one 2 years ago- had a normal AF in Oct so doctor said why not try- I am ovulating today, I always know due to dull pains- I am slightly concerned as I am so bloated and have uncomfortable lower abnominal pains, nothing major- I am thinking positively that maybe this is the miracle of conception starting but has anyone esle who has had a successful pregnancy suffered the same as myself?

Haven't ever been pg so can't offer any experience, just wanted to wish you good luck x

Never been pregnant either, but do get ovulation pains which are a real dull ache, very similar to period pains for me. Fingers crossed for you

Hmm yes I had ovulation pains so therefore knew I was ovulating (obviously) and fell pregnant with dss. Twice actually. Just have to wait and see, good luck.

Actually, If you still have the pains I would probably have an early night tonight too.

I've never been pg, but I always have very strong ov pains, and am often bloated with them. Good luck and enjoy your early night

Can I just ask you other ladies who get ovulation pains - are you using these days TTC? Or are you using other methods to confirm ovulation?

bojingles, i did and it worked.

I get a dull ache too. Does anyone know how long should these ovulation pains should last? Do they happen before or after ovulation?

Good luck Becky!

BoJingles · 06/12/2006 20:42

Oooh goody - fingers crossed then as I'm relying on this now.
Sally - I get a on/off dull ache for 2-3days usually. I'm not sure if the pains are before/during/after the event tho. I do hope it's not after...

I know when I'm ovulating as I get the pains as well as a clear gooey discharge.

Both of these have started tonight, however I've used one of those test strips (got from ebay) and it says negative [for ovulating].

I know I am - are these strips a waste of time? I remember being told that by the time they give a positive reading its too late, can anyone confirm this?
