We have been so busy chatting I've started a new thread. Welcome all 10+ ladies. Hope we all have some luck on this thread.

Lucie my clinic has intralipids administered via healthcare at home - so a nurse comes to your house. Would this be an option instead of driving 2.5h? Hope you can get a resolution xxx

loopylou1984 · 18/02/2016 12:38

Lucie, if they ask about your scan can't you just say af is late so you haven't booked it yet? Or will that mess up the timings for the drugs? Sorry, I don't know much about immunes.

Trixie - I pretty much told her that I'll be taking it off whatever happens. And yes, I did warn her about the dates, but apparently I should have actually requested the whole two week period provisionally and then cancelled all the days I don't need. So now she has 12 holiday requests from me! Ha. Xx

lucieloos · 18/02/2016 12:42

Thanks Banana, I'm not sure. I think I looked into that before but don't you need to supply the intralipids yourself or have a prescription for them? My Czech clinic won't supply prescriptions for them for some reason they will only give a letter stating that I need them. Otherwise that would be ideal.

Sammy I need to have the intralipids done around cd10 so will already have started stimms. The scan would probably be cd14 at the latest. Im wondering whether I could say that I'm going out to Czech for it but wanted to get the intralipids done before going.

OP posts:
bananafish81 · 18/02/2016 12:52

You need a prescription definitely - could the west Midlands clinic prescribe them but have them administered by H@H? So frustrating for you. Hope it can get sorted. Xx

Trixietwenty16 · 18/02/2016 13:19

It's definitely not easy Lucie, FX for good news tomorrow.

Good work Sammy!

lucieloos · 18/02/2016 13:29

Oohh I don't know banana, I will look into it all. Healthcare at Home have a clinic in Bristol so I could go there to have them administered saving £100 but it's just getting the prescription.

BorisIsBack · 18/02/2016 18:54

Ah lucie that sounds so complicated. Im sure it'll be fine. Must be stessfull though. Fx for good news soon.

Sammy that sounds crap re work. I love the fact you've flooded work with holiday requests :)

So af is late, I can't be of this month (we couldn't DTD due to HSG). Also the swab I had taken for possible infections at the same time as ny smear has come back, the receptionist says I need to speak to the go but can't do so until Monday. I assume that means I have an infection down there? ! Hope this won't affect ivf, I need to start the drugs probably before Monday....

BorisIsBack · 18/02/2016 18:55

Agh typos..... I can't be pg ... And I need to speak to the gp.

lucieloos · 19/02/2016 10:18

Ahh Boris what a pain! Any sign of af yet? Hope it turns up soon for you and everything goes ok at the gp on Monday.

So I have two options for the intralipids. My local clinic has given me an appt on Friday 4th March at 11am or I have an appt on Sat 5th March at a clinic in Birmingham. The one in Birmingham would be more convenient as its on a Saturday and I don't have much time left to take off work at the moment but it will take me 2.5 hours to get there and also cost £75 more and petrol. The only problem is even if I have it on the Saturday this will be 11 days before 5 day transfer so it's pushing it a bit as I think it's supposed to be 7-10 days. Trixie, do you know when the NHS will recommend for you to have yours?

OP posts:
Trixietwenty16 · 19/02/2016 10:42

Annoying that you can't speak to your GP until Monday Boris, if it is an infection then presumably you'd just have to take antibiotics. I took a course shortly before my FET. I can't remember when it was supposed to be completed by though.

Lucie, my appointment isn't for a couple of weeks so don't even know if I'll get them but I think my private clinic said they would do them a week before transfer and then again if I got a BFP. Doing a bit of googling it seems timings can vary. On fertility friends it says intralipids stay in your system for up to 4 weeks so I'm sure 11 days before transfer would be ok, especially if it is going to be easier for you to do it on a Saturday.

lucieloos · 19/02/2016 11:13

Thanks trixie, yes there's so much conflicting advice. Dr Sher says 7-14 days before transfer so I've sent him a quick message on his forum to double check 11-12 days will be ok. They were the first ones to start using it and do a lot with immunes so if he's says that's fine then I will be happy with that and will disregard everything else I've read! Just got to decide then whether to travel and pay the extra for the Saturday appt or have it done with my local clinic the day before and try and wangle an early lunch or something.

OP posts:
BorisIsBack · 19/02/2016 17:41

Ah lucie, hope the doctor confirms quickly for you. Difficult choice about what you should do. So many decisions. Can you get public transport to Birmingham? Might be cheaper, some coach deals are crazily cheap.

This is my longest cycle in ages, 26 days, I'm normally a 24 day regular (although last month was a 15 day . Cycle). DH is happy as he probably won't be able to be with me for egg collection and will do his duty earlier and have it frozen. He thinks that takes the pressure off him having to perform on cue (selfish git). He doesn't really get it though. He said yesterday that he would come back to see me for transfer and provide his sample then... the man has two degrees and a big job in the real world but yet is flummoxed by human reproduction. Sorry, Rant over.

Thanks for the encouragement trixie, I did some googling and anti biotics and ivf seem ok, but I will check with my ever unhelpful pharmacist when I get the prescription if the drugs are comparable with each other and with ttc.

Hope everyone's geared up for a good weekend :)

Itsme247 · 19/02/2016 19:37

Weekend is a bit of a tricky one, I became an auntie for the second time recently so will be full of baby news and I'll be expecting AF on Monday which will be hard to handle.

Urgh, so so bored of waiting for the inevitable! Felt the familiar pangs of AF on it's way already. It's so interesting, since it's been officially 'all him' he has been so insecure with me and other men. I recently got a new job and I caught him checking through my phone the other day. Its absolutely ridiculous so really don't care but i hate the thought of him feeling that way.

Lucie it sounds like such a pain for you to get the intripalids, I'm not sure what they are but I hope you get it sorted. It sounds like where there is a will there's a way!

Boris, antibiotics are fine with stimms so long as you stop a couple of days before transfer. That's a shame that your dh can't be with you for the egg collection as that's the longest bit. The transfer is just a quick 5 minute jobbie. I have been out once on my own for egg collection and it was fine but being the first time it would be good if you could have somebody with you for support. Could you take your mum/sibling/friend along as well?

Itsme, that's hard about the weekend. I would struggle as well. We have just been away for a long wknd with super fertile sister in law who has a 10,3 and 1 year old so that wasn't easy either. It's hard with the male side of things. We have male factor too but I've always tried to make out maybe there's something with me too like my age etc even though all my tests have come back clear. I didn't want him to feel like it was all him. Although since starting IVF I haven't responded that well so now it is partly me as well with the IVF side of things so we both feel a bit responsible.

Dr Sher has come back and said day 11 or 12 is perfect timing for intralipids so that's good. I'm going to keep both appts at the moment and wait until af arrives and I've got a clearer idea of when scans and egg collection will be and then decide on which one works out best for me.

Can't believe af is due next weekend and then I begin again. I've just found at that at 36 on the NHS they only allow one embryo to be transferred. That's fine though as we were in 2 minds about how many to transfer so that makes the decision for us. We have already decided to do one at a time with our Czech ones. I'm concerned that I get premature lutenisation with fresh cycles so my progesterone starts to rise too early so the womb lining is out of sync for implantation so if we are lucky enough to get more than one blast it's probably better that we transfer one and freeze one so we can do a frozen cycle which can be controlled better.

It'sme sorry lovely, hope this weekend isn't so difficult.

Lucie I think we might be ok for DH to be in the Czech Republic with me, the in laws might be able to help out with dsc. I don't otherwise have any immediate family of my own. I'm pretty independent tho. If I'm on my own I'll be ok.

Lucie the more I read about doing egg collection and embryo transfer in different cycles (the way you are so far) the more sense it makes. You can get your linning sorted if you deal with them as separate events. I'm not sure if I could be patient and wait though.

lucieloos · 20/02/2016 17:04

That's great news Boris that dh will be able to be there with you. I'm very independent as well but have always found it easier with some support incase things aren't straight forward.

If you had said to me last April it would be almost a year before we had another transfer after our failed one I would have been absolutely distraught but equally I couldn't face doing another fresh cycle as I would be too worried (just treating NHS as a freebie and not really expecting it to work) I also need to consider the future and want to give us as best a chance as I can of 2 babies so we don't have to go through this again. My reserve is not good so I doubt it would work out for us a couple of years down the line so although it's hard I'm kind of looking at this as trying for 2 babies so it will take longer. In some ways now I find it easier as well, I think I prefer separating the stress of egg collection and the craziness of the 2ww. I like the idea that the worst part of stimms and collection will be over and I can get on with the relatively straightforward bit of building my lining and transferring.

BorisIsBack · 20/02/2016 17:10

Lucie it all makes complete sense. I hope it works for you so you can have a baby and later a second sibling.

BorisIsBack · 21/02/2016 08:40

Right so cycle one of ivf has started.... Thanks to all of you for support getting me here. I feel so much better now it's all about to happen :)

lucieloos · 21/02/2016 08:59

Wow brilliant Boris! Good luck with the injections. Keep us posted with how you're getting on. Where are you staying in Brno? Are you having scans at home or going out there for them?

OP posts:
star1980 · 21/02/2016 09:53

Amazing Boris, delighted to hear that. Please keep us posted and best of luck!!

Lucie great news about the immunes, glad it all worked out. You must be used to doing the injections now but good luck for when you start in a week. Fingers tightly crossed that you and Boris are our March bfps!

Itsme, hope the weekend went ok in the end. It's tough being around the excitement of a new baby when it's so hard getting our own. Also hope your dh stops with the silly jealousy soon. I know it's hard for them but it's another thing for you to deal with, which I'd find annoying (I'm not very patient!).

Mpp, I decided not to temp in the end, I really need to chill out whilst there's little hope so I'm going to remind myself my cycle is 28 days regardless of what f2f is saying. Really hope your next sa is improved, good luck.

Hope everyone is well Smile

Lucie - glad all is ok for your intralipids Smile

Boris!! Yay for starting :). How are you finding it so far?

Cd 25 for me, should be around four days (all being normal) until af and the i'll be getting started. Xx

lucieloos · 21/02/2016 20:16

Eeekk this is exciting there's a good few of us starting around the same time! I am expecting af in the next 6 days or so! It's nice to cycle with others Smile

Itsme247 · 21/02/2016 20:25

Weekend was actually baby free in the end, had an awful cold and didn't think being around a brand new baby was a very good idea!

This is going to be a busy thread over the next few weeks I see! Good luck for you all xx
